SCP-4622 in a box in its containment locker.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4622 is to be kept in sound-proofed containment locker 616-B at site 77. Those with Level 2 or higher security clearance may take SCP-4622 from the locker for research purposes if required, but doing so for extended periods of time is not recommended1. If these personnel are believers in any Abrahamic religion(s), they must not come into contact with SCP-4622.

Description: SCP-4622 is an approximately 30cm tall polypropylene depiction of the biblical icon Jesus Christ displaying significant degradation, presumably due to extended ultraviolet exposure and excessive handling.

Upon the base on which the 'Jesus' stands is a line of text which reads "My friend, Jesus!", and below that is a relatively large button2. Adorning the button is the logo 'Sinnerslöschen', surmised to be the name of the manufacturer, although no such manufacturer has been located. When the button is pressed, the "My friend, Jesus!" statues can receive voice input, and will respond to questions or statements using pre-recorded quotations from the Bible.

According to the inscription on the underside of its base, SCP-4622 was first manufactured in 1989 along with 12 others in its batch, all of which were found along with it in a box alongside its deceased former owner. Despite showing no anomalous properties, the foundation has kept them and they are to be checked for any changes biannually. No other models have been located. The technology displayed in these models is expectedly as primitive as its manufacturing date would suggest3, with the exception of SCP-4622, which has been recorded to respond to voice stimuli with astounding acuity, leading many to extrapolate that SCP-4622 may be sapient.

It has been shown that SCP-4622 could potentially convince a person to commit suicide through the means of impaling their wrists with nails, as found in the autopsy of the previous owner of SCP-4622. He was found with SCP-4622 in one hand and a Bible in the other beside the crate containing the other 12 "My friend, Jesus!" statues.

Addendum: When Dr. Morgan (an irreligious man) came into contact with SCP-4622, a psychological evaluation revealed no negative mental side effects, leading to the creation of the hypothesis that the more religious are more susceptible to following SCP-4622's commands.

To test his hypothesis, Dr. Morgan went on to gather a group of five D-Class personnel: a Catholic (Subject A), a Muslim (Subject B), a Jew (Subject C), an atheist (Subject D), and a religious person not of an Abrahamic religion (Subject E). He placed them in a room during individual and allocated time slots for 1 hour each. Inside the room was SCP-4622, SCP-807, and a platter of cold skinless boiled potatoes. Dr. Morgan told the subjects to press the button before speaking to SCP-4622, and that responding to anything SCP-4622 said during the time slot was mandatory. Dr. Morgan also explicitly informed the subjects that placing the potatoes upon SCP-807 would likely lead to their deaths.

Below are Dr. Morgan's results for each subject.

Subject A: Subject A was at first sceptical of SCP-4622, but quickly became more accommodating. Within 1:45 he began to agree that SCP-4622 was the "lamb of God" and he was SCP-4622's "apostle". At 4:23 into the 1 hour time slot, Subject A agreed with SCP-4622 that he should die "for the sins of the unworthy servants", and quickly placed a potato onto SCP-807. Seconds before dying of cardiac arrest, Subject A stated that "The Lord's work has no price too high" while wiping the butter from his chin.

Subject B: Subject B did not begin to agree with SCP-4622 until 2:08 into the experiment, significantly longer than Subject A. By 7:34, Subject B began to state that she was not "unworthy" and would prove it to SCP-4622, who subsequently told Subject B to offer "redemption" to the "sinners" who were conducting the experiment. Subject B quickly placed a potato onto SCP-807 and began striking the glass separating me and my colleagues from the experiment, attempting to convince us that consuming the potato would "cleanse our souls" while she was nibbling it herself. Subject B was neutralised shortly afterwards.

Subject C: Subject C was not swayed by SCP-4622's attempts to convince him to be "righteous" until 1:59 when he stated that SCP-4622 was "right" and that he had been "blaspheming" throughout his life. After mild resistance, at 5:24 Subject C was dead by suicide by the method of choking on a full peeled potato without placing it on SCP-807 first.

Subject D: Subject D remained adamant that SCP-4622 was "full of bullshit" until 30:02, when he threw SCP-807 at SCP-4622. Subject D was quickly neutralised. Both SCP-807 and SCP-4622 were relatively undamaged.

Subject E: Subject E resisted SCP-4622's attempts to make her "worthy" for 44:19 until she eventually stated that she did not wish to be "worthy" of SCP-4622 and that SCP-4622 was evil. SCP-4622 responded with "The serpent was more crafty". Subject E refused to comply with the previously established rule of replying to SCP-4622 and so was escorted from the room at 45:36.
Conclusion: It would seem that the hypothesis that those who believe in Abrahamic religions are more susceptible to following SCP-4622's commands is correct, however the evidence is not fully conclusive. Further testing with a larger group is required.

The following is a short interrogation of SCP-4622 conducted by Dr. Morgan.

<Begin Log>

Dr. Morgan: [Presses button] Hello, SCP-4622.

SCP-4622: Seven sins; one per day. Seven sins to [satic] embrace.

Dr. Morgan: [Presses button] Who are you?

SCP-4622: I am the good shepherd [static] I will smite [static] the flock.

Dr. Morgan: [Presses button] And who are the flock?

SCP-4622: All the believers [static] All the heathen.

Dr. Morgan: [Presses button] How will you do this 'smiting'?

SCP-4622: I command thee [static] worthy is the lamb [static] thy flesh and thy body [static] consumed.

Dr. Morgan: [Presses button] Interesting response, but I would like to remind you that you are an inanimate object.

SCP-4622: I have the power to harm you.

Dr. Morgan: [Presses button] How, exactly? [Presses button] Hello? Ah. The battery is dead. I suppose that concludes today's investigation.
