+ An Interdimensional Elevator

Got hit with a roadblock. Couldn't really add to the SCP idea to make it interesting. To put it simply: "blank does blank so we can go into blank"

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX’s location should be monitored at all times by all on site personnel. Any unauthorized citizens that enter the area (within 1609.34 meters) are to be forcefully removed.

Radiation should be checked hourly in case a second anomaly occurs⁵. In an event of another dimensional anomaly, all personnel within 1609.34 meters of the building should evacuate to prevent casualties. Any major changes to the environment/area should be documented upon return to the area.

Description: SCP-XXXX resembles an elevator similar to the ones built in the 1930s. Within the SCP, there are three buttons: An up arrow, down arrow, and a rounded button with a question mark. The SCP itself is within an abandoned business building. There are no records of the building being built, nor any records of it being used. The upper half of the building suffers from multiple structural issues, and its roof has begun to cave in⁶.

When using SCP-XXXX, a small panel shows the “floor number” your currently on along with the dimension name. However, the floor number has no relation to the current dimension you are in, since there is no general control over which dimension you enter⁷.

When using the buttons, the up arrow works as normal. However, when attempting to enter lower levels, an automated voice states “Sorry, floors below dimension 9-2398-C are currently unavailable. Apologies if this causes any form of inconvenience.” When pressing the rounded question mark, the voice would state “Press the up arrow to go through dimensions above, and the down arrow to go through dimensions below. For a list of all possible dimensions, simply order our user friendly manual from dimension 6-2356-M.” Tests have yet to find this dimension, so no manual is currently in the foundations possession.

7. An example of this occurred when floor two was a dimension involving little to no gravity, but within nineteen hours and seven minutes, floor two was a dimension with large mushrooms instead of trees. It is because of this that no definitive list of available dimensions can be made.
