SCP-001 is the Feywild. A magical realm of woodland creatures and other beings such as elves and fey. The bulk of SCP-001 is stories of exploring the feywilds.
The way the Mage Academy is part of this is but having a university or school within the feywild/help the foundation monitor it.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-001 is to be monitored at all time by Foundation's thaumatology specialist. All entities entering or exiting SCP-001 are to be documented and observed. If entities are on a path towards human civilization they are to be redirected into the wilds, or back to SCP-001. No personnel is to get within 100 meters of SCP-001 without a majority vote approval from Site Command.
Description: SCP-001 is a Japanese gate shrine located on side of Mt Fuji Japan. SCP-001 is the line between the prime material plane and that of an extradimensional space of forest and woodlands known as The Feywild. Only Humans with potent thaumaturgical properties have proven capable of crossing the line of the prime material plane through SCP-001. Individuals without thaumaturgical properties that attempt to pass through SCP-001 will not be able to enter the extradimensional space, nor do they even seem to perceive SCP-001 existence.
To this date, it is unknown how large the extradimensional space is.
It has been observed that woodland creatures are able to pass through SCP-001 as well as seemingly being aware of its existence. It is unknown if these woodland creatures process potent thaumaturgical properties.
Incident 001-1: On 11/11/2011 a red fox was seen exiting SCP-001 carrying a purple leather tome in its mouth. The fox dropped the tome at the edge of the 100-meter safe zone before sprinting back into SCP-001.
