Item #: SCP-4███
Object Class: Keter
Special Containment Procedures: All information regarding SCP-4███ must be secured inside a Class 4 Security Vault inside a room isolated from any ways of communication in Site-██. Every 6 hours, or in the event of a regular inspection, the room where the vault is stored must be flooded with Class A amnestics to prevent any kind of coherent information to breach containment.
Description: SCP-4███ is a memetic infohazardous entity capable of spreading through its own information and which causes a behavioural change, followed by sudden death, in about 68% of its victims (see Addendum 4███-1)
SCP-4███ is thought to be the combined effect of two memetic entities made of pure abstract thought, referred to in this document as SCP-4███-A and SCP-4-███-B.
SCP-4███-A is a highly sophisticated infohazardous meme, an entity capable of reproduction by means of information sharing. Any sentient being who, knowingly or not, acquires even the slightest information about SCP-4███-A will become its host, henceforth denominated SCP-4███-C. SCP-4███-A, approximately 6 hours after the initial contact, will start to subtly change SCP-4███-C's body language in an almost unnoticeable way as a mean to share information about itself in a subliminal way, silently but effectively spreading across the population. Despite its remarkable reproductive capabilities, this entity is actually rather peaceful and harmless, and is only driven forward by its desire to spread.
SCP-4███-B is an aggressive abstract organism that only targets SCP-4███-C. Its transference between subjects is carried out by unknown means and is still being investigated. Once inside SCP-4███-C, it locates and kills SCP-4███-A (see Addendum 4███-2), causing a sudden change in the subject’s behaviour. SCP-4███-C will start behaving like a rabid animal, [REDACTED] and showing extreme violence towards everything in its surroundings. This state, though, lasts only for a few minutes, before the subject's brainwaves abruptly collapse, killing them as a consequence. On average, SCP-4███-B is able to find its way to SCP-4███-C subjects 68% of the cases.
Because of their particular nature, both objects are really difficult to contain. The only known way to contain SCP-4███-A is to isolate any kind of information regarding it, terminating all instances of SCP-4███-C and administering Class A amnestics to those subjects who haven’t fully developed into SCP-4███-A hosts. Also because of this, investigation of the items progresses really slowly, since every six hours researchers must purge their memories to evade becoming an SCP-4███-C and getting potentially killed by SCP-4███-B.
Addendum: The origin of both SCP-4███-A and SCP-4███-B is uncertain. These anomalous entities were brought to the Foundation’s attention after the unusual deaths of 3 members of the █████ Research Institute, in ██████, Brazil. The team of researchers were illegally investigating a formerly unknown Amazonian tribe located at [DATA EXPUNGED]. The team had only ever studied this village with the help of a drone equipped with a video camera and had never had any kind of contact with the inhabitants, so the possibility of it being related to the cause of death was discarded at first. However, after the deaths of the exploration team, the photographs were sent to the Foundation’s Memetic division in order to detect any kind of lethal meme, which lead to the discovery of SCP-4███-A.
The entire tribe was composed of SCP-4███-C who, surprisingly enough, spoke perfect English. After negotiating with the tribe’s leader, the research team was allowed to stay and investigate.
Document 4███-1: The following is an interview with SCP-4███-C-1, the leader of the village.
