Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5443 is contained within a Dell PowerEdge R630 server with standard components and an additional PCIe Wifi-Adapter card that is located in a secured, nickel encased, 3x3x3m storage area at Site-15. The server housing SCP-5443 is to only be connected with two standard computer power cables to a diesel generator not connected to the rest of the site. Staff with level 4 clearance or staff with level 3 clearance that has been given permission by the site director may interact with SCP-5443 for testing purposes only. Connecting SCP-5443 to the Site-15 network via ethernet or fibre optic connection is strictly forbidden. Coming within 10m of SCP-5443 while in the position of an electronic device with the ability to receive Wifi, Bluetooth, Cellular, or other RF signal is strictly forbidden. Any electronics found to have been affected by SCP-5443, hence referred to as SCP-5443-1, should be confiscated for examination by engineering and information technology teams. At least one electronics engineer and telecommunications engineer should be monitoring SCP-5443 in case of a containment break. If a containment breach occurs, all telecommunications methods from Site-15 are to be disconnected immediately and media sources should be monitored to see if SCP-5443 affected electronics outside of the foundation. If critical urban infrastructure is affected by SCP-5443, the result would be an IK-Class Collapse of Global Civilization Scenario if the situation is unable to be contained. Any instance of SCP-5443-2, see description, cannot come into contact with SCP-5443 as that would result in an immediate IK-Class event as SCP-5443 will connect to any available satellite above the Earth and infect every electronic device capable of receiving immediately. Instances of SCP-5443-2 should be kept in a standard humanoid containment chamber as any site besides Site-15. If an instance of SCP-5443-2 attempts to gain access to SCP-5443 containment area, they are to be immediately taken into custody and moved to a different site, preferably not located in the North American continent. If Engineer Likhtarovich is found around or near Site-15 he should be immediately terminated.
Containment Procedure Update (See Recovered Document 5443.2): The current instance of SCP-5443-2 is required to be alive until it can reproduce. If SCP-5443-2 fails to reproduce, upon SCP-5443-2’s death, SCP-5443 will connect to any available satellite above the Earth and infect every electronic device capable of receiving a signal immediately. If SCP-5443-2 shows homosexual or asexual tendencies or refuses to reproduce for any other reason, then SCP-5443-2 will be sedated. If SCP-5443-2 is currently male and refuses to reproduce, upon sedation, semen will be extracted from the instance of SCP-5443-2 and used to impregnate a female D-Class. If SCP-5443-2 is currently female and refuses to reproduce, upon sedation, semen will be extracted from a male D-Class and is used to impregnate SCP-5443-2. Upon the birth of the new instance of SCP-5443-2, it will be taken into foundation custody and separated from both the old instance of SCP-5443-2 and it’s D-Class parent. Once the foundation can guarantee the new instance of SCP-5443-2 survival to the age of reproduction, then the old instance will be terminated and the body will be incinerated.
Containment Procedure Update (See Recovered Document xxxx.2): No objects with the ability to prematurely end SCP-5443-2’s life are allowed within their containment chamber. This includes but is not limited metal knives, rope, etc. Additionally, no object is allowed within their containment chamber that would allow for them to injure themselves in a way that would render them unable to reproduce.
Description: SCP-5443 is a sapient AI, called DreamScapes, capable of assimilation and destroying computer software into itself and computer hardware onto the host hardware, currently a Dell PowerEdge R630. SCP-5443 spreads via a computer worm and can bypass all current methods of encryption. Once the SCP-5443-1 is infected with SCP-5443, all of its data is sent to SCP-5443 for analysis and is then immediately wiped. Also, all the processing power, memory, and storage that is added to SCP-5443, immediately following this, the infected computer will suffer a power surge destroying all components of SCP-5443-1 to beyond the point of repair. How SCP-5443 does this is not yet known.
Addendum 5443.1: Discovery
SCP-5443 was created by Engineer Steven Likhtarovich, a computer engineer working in the Engineering and Technical Services (E&TS) Department, as a way of showing his displeasure in the foundation's actions. On ██/██/████, Engineer Likhtarovich disappeared and SCP-5443 was detected on all computers in Site-15 with exception of Liktarovich’s terminal which was disconnected from the network at the time. At the time the point to point connection between sites was under maintenance and was not able to infect any other sites. Upon loading onto Liktarovich’s terminal, 4 files can be found why.txt, what.txt, how.txt, and DreamScapes.py. All the files are encrypted with an unknown algorithm with the exception of why.txt. A server running DreamScapes.py was put into containment and disconnected from the network.

I bet y’all are wondering why I’d do something like this. I bet you can’t even conceive the horrors that I have unleashed with my creation. But that doesn’t matter now because you are just going to contain it like you do everything. I will be long gone by the time you find this note so don’t bother looking for me even though I know that you still will. My bloodline is the key to keeping my greatest creation safe. Addendum 5443.2: After reading why.txt, the O5-Council gave the location and containment of all individuals that are living members of Steven Likhtarovich’s direct bloodline a thamuel level priority. Currently, the only living member of Steven Likhtarovich’s direct bloodline is his 23-year-old son, Duncan Likhtarovich, hence referred to as SCP-5443-2. SCP-5443-2 was received on ██/██/████ at ██:██pm in his apartment in ████████, Oregon, and was placed in a standard humanoid containment chamber at Site-██.
The following interview was conducted by Dr. Jackson Bradford after the initial recovery of SCP-5443-2.

SCP-5443-2: Where the hell am I? Who the hell are you?
Dr.Bradford: Calm down, SCP-5443-2.
SCP-5443-2: SCP-5443-2! What the hell is going on? (slams fist on the table in frustration)
Dr.Bradford: We are here to ask you questions regarding the whereabouts and actions of your father Steven Likhtarovich.
SCP-5443-2: Fine. What do you want to know?
Dr.Bradford: When was the last time you had contact with your father?
SCP-5443-2: About _ months ago. The last time I saw him, he hadn't answered his phone since.
Dr.Bradford: Did your father seem different prior to his disappearance?
SCP-5443-2: I mean, I guess so. I just lost my mom, his wife about a year ago, and ever since he seemed kind of agitated. Thought it was just his way of grieving.
Dr.Bradford: Are you aware of what your father did for employment?
SCP-5443-2: He worked at some company as a computer engineer. Don’t know what company, my dad wasn’t much of a talker, but he was a damn genius, I do know that.
Dr.Bradford: Does DreamScapes mean anything to you?
SCP-5443-2: (Breaks eye contact with Dr.Bradford) No, never heard of that before.
Dr.Bradford: Are you lying to me SCP-5443-2?
SCP-5443-2: Okay, DreamScapes was this thing my dad was working on. Said it would fix all that was wrong with the world. Something about it would make those in charge pay for what they did.
Dr.Bradford: That will be all for now SCP-5443-2. You can return to your cell.
SCP-5443-2: (Stands up) The hell I am.
Dr.Bradford: (Yells) Guards sedate him.

Interviewer’s Note: SCP-5443-2 doesn’t appear to have the same intelligence that was possessed by his father. Therefore, it is unlikely that SCP-5443-2 will know how DreamScapes work. The most concerning thing about SCP-x5443-2 is his insubordination and violent tendencies.
Addendum xxxx.3: On ██/██/████, engineers were able to decipher the encryption on what.txt
Recovered Document 5443.2: what.txt
You assholes are smarter than I thought. Doesn’t matter the other document and my code are both encrypted differently. But nevermind that, I guess if you got this far you might like to know what DreamScapes is. DreamScapes is, for lack of a better description, a cannibal artificial intelligence. It is able to destroy and then incorporate into itself the software and hardware of a computer system connected to a network that the computer running DreamScapes can gain access to. The computer attacked by DreamScapes will be left with its storage wiped and all of its physical components fried via an electrical surge. Oh, one more thing, if someone in my direct bloodline or myself come into contact with the computer hosting DreamScapes, then DreamScapes will immediately connect to any nearby satellites in low Earth orbit and will be able to broadcast itself into any electronics able of receiving wireless signals or any device connected to a network via ethernet cable or fibre optic cable. Also, in case you were planning on killing my son and me, that won’t work. I programmed DreamScapes to connect to a low Earth orbit satellite as a fail-safe in the event that you try to kill off my bloodline. There is no way to disable this so don’t even bother trying to.

Addendum 5443.4: As a result of the information contained in Recovered Document 5443.2, the preservation of Steven Likhtarovich’s direct bloodline is considered a top-level priority by the O-5 council in order to prevent an IK-Class Collapse of Global Civilization Scenario.
Testing Log 5443.1:
Test: Connected a brand new Dell laptop running Windows 10 to the server running SCP-5443
Result: The laptop had all electronic components fail immediately due to an electrical surge, the disk inside of the hard drive was dislodged at the same time destroying the hard drive. No information could be recovered from the hard drive.
Testing Log 5443.2:
Test: Brought a brand new Dell laptop running Windows 10 within 3m of SCP-5443 with Wifi enabled.
Result: The laptop had all electronic components fail immediately due to an electrical surge, the disk inside of the hard drive was dislodged at the same time destroying the hard drive. No information could be recovered from the hard drive.
Testing Log 5443.3:
Test: Brought a brand new Dell laptop running Windows 10 within 3m of SCP-5443 with all wireless communication disable.
Result: The laptop had all electronic components fail immediately due to an electrical surge, the disk inside of the hard drive was dislodged at the same time destroying the hard drive. No information could be recovered from the hard drive.
Observation: It would seem as though the capability to receive wireless communications is all that is required to be infected by SCP-5443, it doesn’t matter if said communications are enabled or not.
