Item #: SCP-4381
Object Class: Euclid Safe
Special Containment Procedures SCP-4381 is to be kept at Site ██, in a concert hall that is fitted to the dimensions of 5,000 feet by 5,000 feet, along with █ live video surveillance cameras. There must be enough seating to accommodate █,███ people. SCP-4381 must be placed in the exact middle of the stage in order to keep all malicious anomalous effects nullified. Any instances of SCP-4381's malicious anomalous behavior (hereby referred to as SCP-4381-1) must be reported to Dr. █████. There must always be at least 500 people in the seats of the concert hall at the time that SCP-4381's anomalous properties manifest. It does not matter as to who is in the seats, nor what the order of the seating is.
In the event that SCP-4381's malicious anomalous effects activate, a team of 13 D-Class personnel with a forklift, pallet mover, and measuring equipment to assist re-center SCP-4381.
Any SCPs that are at or above the Euclid Object Class are not permitted to come into contact with SCP-4381, as to keep any damage from happening to SCP-4381.
Description: SCP-4381 is a 2-ton wooden, living musical instrument that is an amalgamation of multiple stringed instruments. SCP-4381 has 28 limbs, all with varying limb lengths and points of articulation. SCP-4381 also has 3 harp-like implements, but only one seems to have finger-like limbs. SCP-4381 is approximately 5.17 feet tall, and is 5.50 feet wide.
Every night at approximately 3:18 A.M. CST, SCP-4381 will perform a song that it had composed itself specifically for that night. SCP-4381 will only perform once per night. After performing, SCP-4381 will wait exactly 25 minutes after the curtains close before beginning to re-tune and will begin practicing for its next performance.
When SCP-4381 is moved off center from any stage that it has been placed on, it will produce a loud, ear-piercing screeching sound by scraping its "fingers" on its strings. This behavior will persist until it is re-centered.
During testing that was performed by Dr. ████, a small sample of the wood that SCP-4381 was made of was taken and looked at under an electronic microscope. The wood was observed to be alive, and photosynthesizing by itself. It is not yet known how photosynthesis keeps SCP-4381 alive, nor how it can move on its own without any organic parts.
Recovery Log: SCP-4381 was was found by [DATA EXPUNGED] while traveling in the mountains of █████████, Norway. After seeing SCP-4381, it was reported to the authorities, and Undercover Agent [REDACTED] was able to orchestrate a recovery effort. At the time of recovery, SCP-4381 was found in an 8 sided room that was completely covered in wood paneling. There were purple lanterns hanging on every-other wall, with a balcony that looked out of a sheer cliff on the mountain side.
When SCP-4381 was shifted off of its base by the recovery team, it began to display its malicious anomalous behavior of screeching with its strings. This endured the entire time of transit until it was placed in the center of the stage in its current location at Site ██. Of the 30 members of the recovery team that were sent to extract SCP-4381, 29 suffered permanent cochlear damage.
