Item #: SCP-3943
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: All SCP-3943 instances are to be kept in a 2-1/4" sq. x 4-1/4" h glass container in a level-4 storage locker. SCP-3943 is only to be removed for Level-4 Administrator approved testing. Any unauthorized persons attempting to access SCP-3943 without express Level-4 approval will be severely reprimanded.
Description: SCP-3943 is a collection of fifty-eight (58) Penguin brand paper-clips. The object exhibits no physical differences from the others of its brand, besides a many appearing to have areas of discoloration consistent with marks of where rust had been chipped off. The anomalous effects of SCP-3943 manifest when SCP-3943 is affixed to another anomalous object. The anomalous effects will only take hold when SCP-3943 is attached to the object in a fashion that does not make use of any other adhesive forces other than the object itself. For example, SCP-3943 will not display its effects if it is being held onto the other object with glue or being pressed up against it by one holding it there, but it will take effect if it is clipped on or being held on by another SCP-3943 instance. SCP-3943s anomalous effects occur instantaneously when an instance is affixed to another anomalous object, affecting the objects own anomalous properties. SCP-3943 has the potential to influence a wide range of properties that an object may have, including, but not limited to:
- Decreasing the time it takes for an anomalous objects effects to take place.
- Increasing the potency of the objects affects.
- Improving the objects anomalous abilities, if it is a living creature.
- Changing the circumstances that the object activates in, generally making it easier to activate.
These effects are, simply put, an amplification of an objects anomalous properties. This property can be extremely useful as well as extremely dangerous, so strict supervision is required while testing.
Addendum: SCP-3943 was recovered in ██████████, Colorado, USA, on January ██, 2018. It's anomalous properties where discovered when Dr.█████ used them to staple a photo of SCP-████ to a report, resulting in the amplification of SCP-████s memetic effects and ██ casualties.
Test Log:
Test #: 001
Object Tested With: SCP-109
Results: Four instances of SCP-3943 where affixed to the canteen by way of creating a "paper-clip chain" and wrapping it around the spout. The lid of the canteen was then removed, causing a burst of water to gush out from the opening at a force consistent with approximately 17,000 psi. The SCP-3943 instances where promptly removed, and the normal flow of water commenced.
Test #: 002
Object Tested With: SCP-494
Results: Two instances of SCP-3943 where affixed to either glove of SCP-494. SCP-3943s effects caused objects to be able to "switch" by only touching the leather of SCP-494. In addition, the time it took for SCP-494s anomalous effects to take place shortened from 5 minutes to 0.03 seconds. This allows the user to almost instantaneously switch two objects properties. Testing of SCP-3943 and SCP-494s combined effects on SCP-682 is pending.
Test #: 003
Object Tested With: SCP-512
Results: One instance of SCP-3943 was clipped onto the nylon of SCP-512. SCP-512 gained the ability to be used while being held horizontally, as well as increasing the force that SCP-512 exerts upon objects from just enough to keep them suspended to being able to push them away at a speed of 231 kpm. The object was shown to be able to blast through several blocks of solid concrete before attracting a bolt of electricity from a nearby electrical socket, by virtue of the objects ion field, killing the user (D-3943-3) instantaneously.
Further testing pending O5 approval.
