Item #: SCP-XXXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXXX is to be enclosed in an air-tight glass box large enough to hold a few small pills. SCP-XXXXX must not be ingested, heated, or come into contact with drinking water. Particles of SCP-XXXXX may enter the human system if not properly contained.
Description: SCP-XXXXX is an oblong orange pill, measuring .5 inches in length, .25 inches in width and contains a psychoactive drug with an unknown composition. It is imprinted with the letters ████.
When ingested, it produces an effect similar to a standard psychedelic, such as lysergic acid diethylamide. These effects include an extreme euphoric state, hallucinogenic distortions, mild sensory impairment, dilated pupils, and increased blood pressure. Use of SCP-XXXXX causes the individual’s speech to become incoherent, and thoughts are expressed through a “word salad”. SCP-XXXXX also induces a shared hallucination, based on similar accounts from multiple individuals. During these hallucinations, individuals report seeing a tall humanoid with rabbit-like features (often referred to as “the rabbit” by users), estimated to be about 6 feet tall, lanky, and white in fur color (further descriptions of the entity differ). According to one report, “the rabbit didn’t move. It just stood there, staring at me. Then it disappeared”, suggesting that the appearance of the rabbit is only a visual hallucination (note that users are not conscious of the fact that they are experiencing a hallucination; while experiencing a hallucination, magnetic imaging of the users’ brains have shown increased activity in the amygdala). While all other positive symptoms of the drug are removed after a period of time, users still report the observed presence of the white rabbit, the duration of which is still yet to be determined. In extreme cases, users are afflicted with psychosis and great fear, the durations of which are still being observed.
SCP-XXXXX was produced by [redacted] as a way of combatting the effects of schizophrenia. After initial testing, however, [redacted] found that SCP-XXXXX only enhanced the symptoms of schizophrenia and shut the project down. Unused batches of SCP-XXXXX were kept under lock in the facility. Unfortunately, part of the facility was destroyed in a gas explosion and the building was abandoned shortly after the incident.
Discovery Log: Almost all of SCP-XXXXX was stolen by Mr.█████-████ when searching the area for salvageable materials, leaving only an undisclosed amount of SCP-XXXXX left in the facility under fallen debris. The remaining sample of SCP-XXXXX was then brought to the foundation by Agent Williams for testing. The rest of SCP-XXXXX has been used to [redacted].
Addendum XXXXX-A: SCP-XXXXX has reportedly caused two deaths so far, Mr.███████ and Ms.████, both as a result of suicide (Mr.███████ has been exposed to SCP-XXXXX twice, while Ms.████, three times; no notes were found). Mr.███████ was found in his bathroom; cause of death was a laceration to the carotenoid. Ms.████ was found on ████ St, █████ █████; she died immediately on impact. Witnesses said she jumped off of the 7th floor of the ██████ █████.
