Item #: SCP-4XXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4XXX is to be sealed off with a 4m chain fence, with 2 armed guards at all entrances to SCP-4XXX. Entry is prohibited outside of testing. When human subjects enter SCP-4XXX, Entrances will be locked down, and 1 of 2 armed guards will stand watch just outside all entrances.

Description: SCP-4XXX is a circular 27 acre plot of forest, located in ███████, ███. All plant life in SCP-4XXX appears to be dead, and no animal has been observed within SCP-4XXX as of yet. The sky over SCP-4XXX is constantly under thick cloud cover, with minimal visibility. Roughly 2-4cm of snow is present on the ground at all times.

Testing has yielded that the forest possesses an overall sentience, and is aware of any human subjects that enter it, designated SCP-4XXX-1. The plants in SCP-4XXX appear to possess a shared awareness as well. By currently unknown means, trees near SCP-4XXX-1 will appear to bend towards the subject outside of his/her view. Trees will revert to normal positions when observed. These motions generate loud noises congruent with that of wood creaking due to bending. Shrubs and weeds will exude spikes of varying length and thickness, relative to the distance/direction to SCP-4XXX-1. Smaller plants will bend towards, and wrap around the subject's limbs. They will then proceed to pull the subject into the ground through unknown means. Where SCP-4XXX-1 arrives afterward is not known.

Rocks and pebbles in SCP-4XXX will increase in surface temperature relative to SCP-4XXX-1's nearness. This has been shown to damage their nearby surroundings, and thus can injure the subject. However, any fires that ignite within SCP-4XXX are quickly extinguished by unknown means.

A small, spherical object resides on a stone pillar, roughly 1.1m in height, in the center of SCP-4XXX, designated SCP-4XXX-2. The drone used to make this discovery was then destroyed by a tree that had seemingly moved into its path. The purpose/origin of this object is not known. The object appears to be made of variously colored stone, and of an ocular nature, and will spin or roll in place, and point at anything observing it, show in drone tests. It appears to have covers that periodically cover and uncover SCP-4XXX-2, structurally similar to that of a human eyelid.

Addendum: As of late, human testing in SCP-4XXX is currently prohibited. Recent cases of D-Class being compelled to enter SCP-4XXX have made testing more difficult. SCP-4XXX is considered hostile, and should be treated as such. Drone testing and observations are continuing.
