Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-#### is to be kept on-site in a secure polycarbonate container in Site ██. For additional security, the only method of access to the contents of the container is via passing a built-in DNA testing system. This process takes approximately 3 hours, so it is advised to prepare the opening sequence before testing of the SCP commences.
The DNA sample required is linked to Senior Researcher Collins, who has no surviving family members and is the lead researcher into SCP-####’s anomalous properties. A failed DNA test or any attempted breach into the container initiates a site-wide lockdown.
If 24 hours pass without confirmation of successful recontainment from a member of the O5 council, SCP-#### is destroyed via a built-in mechanism. This is due to the immense danger SCP-#### poses as a result of its unique ability to create anomalous objects.
Description:
SCP-#### is a plastic set of children’s face paints with no discernable labeling. Once applied to a conscious, non-anomalous, living human who is capable of complex thought (hereby referred to as SCP-####-1), the facial features of SCP-####-1 will rapidly transform into an accurate, realistic depiction of whatever was painted. Due to the fact that this often results in loss of vital airways, SCP-#### is to only be used or tested on D-class personnel not to be used or tested under any circumstances, unless decided by the unanimous vote of the O5 Council.
Addendum:
Yes, we know. SCP-#### could be a VERY valuable asset to the Foundation. But it could also be our downfall. If we use it, we’re trading lives for resources. And if it falls into the wrong hands? Well, look at what happened when we were using it. That was only a fraction of its destructive potential. Any requests to continue testing will be met with severe discipline. Do NOT ask again.
- Senior Researcher Collins
Testing Log:
Testing 15/██/██
Initial testing of SCP-####’s anomalous properties for documentation purposes
Researcher: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Subject: D-81214
Image painted: D-81214’s face.
Results: D-81214’s facial features remained unchanged, aside from a mole appearing on their chin. This was most likely caused by Assistant Researcher Collins accidentally splattering paint due to Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]’s comment on [EXTRANEOUS DETAILS EXPUNGED].
Researcher: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Subject: D-81214
Image painted: Clown makeup.
Results: D-81214’s skin became permanently tinted white and green, corresponding to the markings made by Assistant Researcher Collins. In addition to this, D-81214’s nose became large, red and swollen, causing them intense distress.
Researcher: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Subject: D-81214
Image painted: D-81214’s original face.
Results: D-81214’s face reverted to its pre-testing state, however as a result of the subject’s panicking from the previous test, a wide smudge covered their mouth due to struggling. Subject perished at time 1404 to asphyxiation. Immediate further testing canceled due to a nervous breakdown from Assistant Researcher Collins.
Addendum:
Put Collins under psychiatric care for a couple weeks. This could be overkill, but I don’t want her working with me in this state. - Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
I’m quitting. I can’t handle this shit anymore. I just killed a man with face paint, and nobody so much as bats an eye. - Assistant Researcher Collins
Testing 22/██/██
Further testing of SCP-####’s capabilities.
Researcher: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Subject: D-92399, D-93405
Image painted: SCP-500
Results: One (1) pill with identical appearance to that of SCP-500, replaced all facial features, causing D-92399 to suffocate in a similar manner. Once extracted, the pill was consumed by D-93405. D-93405 was cured of all known diseases they had previously been diagnosed with, including but not limited to the Common Cold and a mild case of Lynks Disease. D-93405 later stated that it ‘tasted like paint’.
Researcher: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Subject: D-93405
Image painted: Assistant Researcher Collins’ face.
Results: [REDACTED].
Researcher: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Subject: D-93405/Assistant Researcher Collins
Image painted: D-93405’s original face.
Results: D-93405 returned to their original state, and they were released from constraints. According to reports, they ‘had no memory of [the incident] whatsoever.’.
Addendum:
All testing is canceled until Collins is back from the psych. It seems I may need a voice of reason going forward. - Senior [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Note: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST] submitted himself for a psychiatric evaluation shortly after testing ended.
Testing 29/██/██
Further testing of SCP-####’s capabilities.
Researcher: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Subject: D-01831
Image Painted: A previously non-existent anomalous object of Assistant Researcher Collins’ imagination, now known as SCP-████
Results: Subjects’ facial features were removed and replaced with an instance of SCP-████. Surgery was immediately performed by on-site medics, in an attempt to create a new ‘mouth’ for D-01831. This proved futile, as further analysis into the anatomy of individuals subjected to SCP-#### show that when any painting not resembling a face is applied, the entirety of the subject’s internal organs located in the head is replaced with bone. Study of previous corpses created by SCP-#### show identical symptoms.
Researcher: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Subject: D-02002
Image Painted: N/A
Results: As D-02002 took place in the testing chamber, in front of Assistant Researcher Collins, they lept forwards and physically assaulted her. Despite clearing standard history checks for any history of violent behavior without issue, it is hypothesized that D-02002 witnessed the death of D-01831, they [EXTRANEOUS DATA EXPUNGED] attacked Assistant Researcher Collins in self-defense. The subject was terminated by nearby guards within seconds, however fatal damage was still sustained by Collins due to brain trauma from the impact of hitting the floor. Further testing canceled by Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST], later revealed to be the result of an undisclosed relationship between him and Collins.
Testing 30/██/██
Unauthorized testing by Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Researcher: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Subject: Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]
Image Painted: Assistant Researcher Collins’ face.
Results: [REDACTED].
Addendum: Due to Collins’ level-headedness and maturity shown handling the incident, she has been promoted to Senior Researcher, and is now head of research into SCP-####. A formal request was submitted to remove Senior Researcher [REDACTED ON REQUEST]’s name and personal information from the SCP-#### file and was accepted on the grounds of keeping her mental and emotional state stable while working on the document.
