Item #: SCP-5826
Object class : Keter
Special Containment procedures : SCP-5826 is to be contained in a specialized Site-4201 Modular Containment Cell. The walls ,roof and floor are to be constructed with 10cm of fire retardant material between 2 sheets of Tungsten carbide. A reinforced steel casing is to surround the cell. The cell should also fit all criteria for a Site-4201 Modular Containment cell. Lights inside the cell are to have a brightness control panel accessible from outside and inside the cell.
Should the unlikely event of SCP-5826 escaping containment occur, all personnel in pursuit of the subject should be equipped with infrared sensors and cameras, as well as a fire-retardant suit. These suits are located in storage locker number 81 at Site-4201.
The subject is very cooperative and is rarely hostile unless provoked or exposed to harsh light. Due to the nature of the subject's behavior, it is to be provided with any requests that are made that are not considered to be in violation of standard SCP containment protocol. SCP-5826 will often request food and drink, however the subject has informed staff that it does not need to eat and only views it as a pleasurable experience.
Description: SCP-5826 is a humanoid creature measuring 74kg in weight and 2,5 meters in height. Its arms are disproportionately long in comparison to its body. It has a very lean and bony appearance and it is completely black and devoid of any form of colour, it possesses a glossy, shiny metallic appearance. The subject has no visible eyes, ears or nose and its mouth is only visible when open.
SCP-5826 was found in Ushuaia Argentina on ^&$&*%$^* by local farmers who went to investigate "a black flame engulfing the mountain" this drew the attention of the Argentinian government who proceeded to contact the SCP foundation for assistance. SCP-5826 was discovered in a cave in the mountains. There was a very large crack in the wall of the cave that spanned roughly 8 meters in length and 2 meters at its widest in terms of width. The crack was pure black and when a D-class personnel attempted to reach inside the crack, nothing happened. When he removed his arm, it was covered in a sticky black liquid. He proceeded to step inside the crack, only to reappear seconds later, covered in the same black liquid, stating that he couldn't breathe and all he saw was pure inky blackness. A few seconds later a guttural moan began emanating from the crack in the cave wall. A slimy black tentacle with numerous bloodshot eyes emerged from the crack and dragged the personnel into the crack. His body was not recovered.
Interviews with the subject have revealed that it wishes no harm on anyone but will not hesitate to attack if provoked. It claims to be from a land "beyond that which anything matters or exists, where nothing lives and nothing dies, only the eternal darkness reigns supreme". The subject also says that it "wishes to explore of existence and embrace it in all of its glory and might. It often stares at flowers and plants with intense fascination and wonder for days on end.
The subject communicates in advanced English to the staff, but can be heard muttering to itself in a dialect that no one seems to understand. Observers report a "nasty disgusting sound, like gagging or choking".
The creature drips a black liquid from itself all over at all times. Very early into the containment of the subject, the floor of the cell was replaced with an angled one that leads into a drain. This drain empties the fluid into a tank deep underground in the facility. This liquid has been named "&@^$#&" by the staff at the facility. This liquid is incredibly flammable, hence the containment procedures. Tests were conducted on D-Class personnel with the liquid in question not long after its initial collection. The subject is unaware of the collection of the liquid and is merely grateful to the staff for providing a drain. SCP-5826 attacks using this liquid and ignites it with its 1,5 meter long tongue. Victims have a 100% mortality rate, suffering from incredibly advanced burns or being incinerated entirely on the spot.
SCP-5826 dislikes harsh light very much and becomes increasingly agitated when exposed to it. It refuses to be in direct sunlight and so no observations could be made. Tests involving the increase of brightness of the lights in the cell resulted in the subject incinerating the fixture almost instantly, no observations could be made.

Experiment log
Experiment 5826-1 Regarding the collected black liquid
1st test
10ml of the liquid were placed in a petri dish inside an experiment chamber and ignited
Results: In the very few milliseconds after ignition, temperatures exceeded 10000 kelvin close to the liquid and very quickly dissipated. Average ambient room temperature was not affected.
2nd test
100ml of the liquid were placed in a glass jar inside an explosives test chamber and ignited
Results: Immediately after ignition , temperatures exceeded 32000 kelvin in the jar, destroying it. The black flames quickly dissipated after a few seconds. Average ambient room temperature was not affected.
