Item #: SCP-X
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: X is held in a 5 x 5 x 8 meter, concrete room located at site █. Inside X's containment cell is a table with a metal cage, where X is held. To the left of the doorway is a shelf containing 30 pairs of heavy duty gloves. If the glove supply is to run out, the shelf must be resupplied before further testing can commence. Flammable material is to be removed from the chamber before testing is underway.
Description:X is a monochromatic, artistic representation of a dragon perched on a boulder overlooking a lake while presumably screaming. A mountain range can be seen in the background of the image, as well as what can only be assumed to be a storm in progress. The paper in which X is drawn on is 8 x 3 inches, as well as being made of modern paper, despite dating back to the 1800s. X seems to have been made using a simple graphite pencil and ink.
Upon contact with X, texture of whatever is being touched in the image can be felt, as well as temperature. (i.e. touching water feels cold and wet, while touching rock feels rough and hard.) despite feeling wet by water in the image, X does not have any liquids on it. Subjects exposed to X claim to feel as though a presence is looming over them, but this has not yet been confirmed, further testing on this matter will commence in the near future. upon touching the dragon, subjects feel the scales of the dragon and describe it as being similar to a snake, but slightly warmer. Upon touching the dragons face, one of two or both things have been known to happen. 1: the subject's hand gets removed, all the way down to the molecular level. 2: the subject gets third degree burns on the hand and arm. This has been shown to only happen with living creatures, and any inanimate object is completely ignored by the effects of X. This has only been known to happen when touching the dragons face. As soon as X victimizes a subject, the image will soon shift color, to where there is now a faint glow of green is the dragon's eyes. This effect has been shown to last anywhere from three hours to a week.
During this state, any contact with the dragon will result in either mutilation, burns, or both. Heavy duty gloves have been added to the containment cell to reduce burn damage, but they do not help against the removal of the hand. Touching the water in this state will burn various parts of the hand of, depending on how much pressure the subject applied. It has been presumed that in this state, the water is instead molten rock. Having more victims during this state only seems to increase the temperature of the dragon and molten rock.
