Special Containment Procedures: Foundation webcrawlers are to monitor global communications for information potentially related to SCP-XXXX-R. As this information bears a significant resemblance to information concerning other occult or thaumaturgical rituals already under Foundation surveillance, no additional action is necessary. Any individuals or organisations who express familiarity with components of the SCP-XXXX-R ritual, or attempt to recreate it, are to be amnesticised if possible and terminated if not.

Written or spoken accounts detailing phenomena associated with SCP-XXXX have been deemed a bottom-level priority for containment, unless they contain identifying information about SCP-XXXX-R, in which case the individuals associated with those accounts are to be detained.

PoI-XXXX is a high priority for containment and, if necessary, SCP designation. Foundation assets within the U.S. states of California, Arizona and New Mexico are cooperating with local law enforcement to resolve missing persons cases, where possible, in an effort to ascertain the pre-5/23/2016 identity of PoI-XXXX. PoI-XXXX's current whereabouts and capabilities are unknown. If an individual suspected to be PoI-XXXX is sighted, personnel are instructed not to engage, and to report the sighting to the Site-20 HCML (currently Dr. Blythe at ext. 52259) for further instructions.

+ Past containment attempts of PoI-XXXX

Description: SCP-XXXX describes a temporal anomaly and possible CK-class Reality Restructuring Event that took place between 07:54 and 07:55 UTC on May 23, 2016. Almost all record of this event, including the memories of living beings as well as electronic records, appears to have been erased between 07:55:00 and 07:55:03. As a result, verifiable information concerning the SCP-XXXX event has proven difficult or impossible to obtain, but interviews and forensic data suggest that the time period between 07:54:00 and 07:54:59 had a subjective duration of approximately three years and two months. In addition, the following information has been consistent across multiple accounts:

  • All metabolic processes among human beings were reported to have ceased; individuals could not die during the SCP-XXXX event, and did not require respiration or sustenance.
  • The diurnal cycle was reported to have "frozen", with the position of the sun and moon not changing during the SCP-XXXX event.
  • Certain humans were reported to have developed anomalous abilities and body configurations; it is unknown how this occurred or why.
  • Existing human psychology was reported to have been altered or "replaced", resulting in widespread behaviours that diverged radically from pre-5/23/2016 social norms, including: cannibalism, autophagy, ritual dismemberment and flaying, non-suicidal self-injury, sexual assault, bestiality, and similar activities. Individuals remained alive and conscious despite experiencing levels of physical damage normally sufficient to cause death. No injury or damage persisted after 07:55.
  • Several high-profile individuals and entities that do not currently exist are reported to have existed prior to the SCP-XXXX event. Numerous technologies that do not currently exist are reported to have existed prior to the SCP-XXXX event. For a partial list, see Addendum 1.
  • Electronics and technology were reported to function inconsistently or not at all, although interview subjects also reported extreme disinterest in using them during the SCP-XXXX event.
  • A humanoid figure matching the description of PoI-XXXX, although sometimes with additional anomalous features, was reported to be a focal point of reality alteration, and unable to be approached directly. Recovered memories of this figure were accompanied by a fear reflex in interview subjects.

The proximal cause of SCP-XXXX is believed to have been a thaumaturgic ritual, designated SCP-XXXX-R. Full details of this ritual have not yet been reconstructed; however, it is known to have involved PoI-XXXX, who was a non-anomalous human being prior to 5/23/2016. Available evidence suggests that the SCP-XXXX event resulted from an improper performance of SCP-XXXX-R, with the proper performance hypothesised to result in a permanent and retrocausal CK-Class Reality Restructuring Event; as such, containment of SCP-XXXX-R is the primary priority of the Foundation. Prior to 5/23/2016, PoI-XXXX was a Native American female, between 12 and 16 years of age, who went missing from Maricopa County, Arizona at an unknown point during the previous three years. It is believed that PoI-XXXX was purchased from a sex trafficker and transported to SCP-XXXX's Point of Origin for use in SCP-XXXX-R, during which PoI-XXXX was thaumaturgically "impregnated". The SCP-XXXX event resulted in significant changes to PoI-XXXX's appearance, including the characteristic loss of distinction in the facial features, as well as significant changes to PoI-XXXX's abilities when interacting with local reality.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered in 2018 during routine maintenance of secure Foundation computer systems at Site-15. The presence of minor data corruption across all systems was noted as an anomaly because it did not coincide with any known containment breach. Further investigation revealed similar, albeit minor, data corruption across all Foundation computer systems worldwide, invariably traced back to 5/23/2016. This data corruption was not simultaneous, but rather appeared to have spread across the world's computer systems at a rate of approximately 14,800 km/s from a central point. The Foundation was able to locate the epicentre, believed to be SCP-XXXX's Point of Origin, in a 123 km² area of rural Riverside County, California.

Detailed investigation of the area revealed an abandoned mansion not known to exist on any federal, state or local records, located approximately ██ km from Palm Springs, and a regional Mobile Task Force was deployed to secure the property. The interior of the mansion had been almost completely destroyed, but recovered materials from the property included anomalous technology as well as information regarding nonexistent individuals and corporate entities that nonetheless were reported by MTF operatives as seeming "familiar". The investigation was subsequently handed off to Site-20, China Lake, CA, which was able to pull this information together with other extranormal events, including shared memories and dreams among large numbers of Foundation personnel, Silicon Valley companies reporting mathematically impossible profits, individuals whose acquired wealth could not be traced before 5/23/2016, and reports and photographs of PoI-XXXX and arrive at the current description and containment procedures of SCP-XXXX.
