SCP-2196 (The Cube)

Special Containment Procedures: No physical contact should be made while handling this SCP. The Cube should be contained inside a sturdy tungsten box, as it is known to be radioactive.

SCP-2196, also known as "The Cube", is known to be highly radioactive. The SCP, on physical contact, will immidiately start messing with your genes, leading to severe mutations. Observations state that this SCP, upon high amounts of exposure, can also give you mental trauma. This SCP was found in an abandoned Russian Nuclear Base, somewhere in Siberia. However, research states that SCP- 2196 is about a thousand years old. It is also known to be indestructible, resistant to almost every firearm. The only known material that weakens it's radioactivity is tungsten. The SCP can also be used as a high and efficient source of energy, therefore more research is being put to contain it's radioactivity.

One of the D class personnel, D-7102, was told to hold SCP-2196 while wearing an anti-radiation suit. Despite having worn the suit, D-7102 immediately died from radioactive poisoning when he made physical contact with SCP-2196. D-7102's corpse was mutated beyond recognition, and the radioactivity coming from D-7102 was at a high 7.6 roentgens per second, higher than the radioactivity found in Chernobyl.
