The ODP computer wipe eye

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object class: Safe, yet uncontained.

File compiled by: Agent Cable

Special containment procedures: None

Description: The Oblic Digital Police, (or ODP) is proclaimed to be a large organisation of people based in a place often called 'Infinity Futures' by it's members. The actual location of this place is unknown, and it is believed that it is not located on the planet Earth, but a different planet in another galaxy. This possibility was considered when Dr.██████ conducted a digital interview with the supposed leader of SCP-XXXX, H.Rift, who commented on how the night sky was 'filled with the glow of a billion green stars'. No further evidence has supported this theory, as no member seems inclined to offer any information of their whereabouts to the SCP foundation.

Members, or agents, of the ODP can be found anywhere in digital space, often posing as NPCs in video games, users of websites such as YouTube and Facebook, and even as [REDACTED]. The members cannot be detected by visual contact or viewing the source code of a page, but can reveal themselves if they decide to, appearing as a humanoid avatar on-screen.

Interviews with the members of SCP-XXXX has revealed at least part of its main intention. In Dr.███'s interview with a member of the ODP named Lewis, who is part of the group's recon department, it was revealed that they try to stop 'it' from returning. ('it' being given the name SCP-XXXX-2) What exactly -2 is is unknown, but it is known to be some sort of malicious digital entity, much like SCP-079, that has entered the ODP's version of the internet. The group have no hostile intentions, at least not to people that do not pose a threat to them. No further information on -2 has been collected. Exactly why beings from another planet are concerned with our digital well being is unknown. Please note that any and all attempts to hack into the ODP's systems have resulted in all the hackers computer software being permanently deleted, with the monitor showing only a likeness of a robotic eye depicted in blue.

H.Rift

H.Rift is the leader of the organisation, and has been quite cooperative in interviews, although he does sometimes offer unclear information. From what he says, the foundation has learned that many members of the ODP are, in fact, aliens. He himself claims to be an alien, although apparently his main body structure and facial features are indistinguishable from a humans when viewed with the naked eye. An interview with H.Rift by Dr.███ is shown here:

<BEGIN LOG>
Computer voice: Connecting to chat room…
Computer voice: Connected. Harvey Rift has joined the room.
Dr.███: Hello? Mr Rift?
[sounds of static, cut off abruptly as if someone plugged a microphone in]
H.Rift: Hello? I can hear you loud and clear. Who's this?
Dr.███: This is the SCP foundation, Mr Rift. Would you mind answering….
[Dr ███ is cut off by the sound of rustling paper from Rift's mike]
H.Rift: The SCP foundation? Hmmm… which one?
Dr.███: Excuse me? There's only one foundation, I'll think you'd find.
H.Rift: No, no. I mean which universe? I mean, there's loads of you stretched out all over the place. It's like you've got a whole army of fantisisers, creating sub-universes whenever they think about the letters 'SCP'.
Dr.███: Well… I'm not quite sure how to answer that.
H.Rift: [sigh] Ok, I guess it doesn't really matter anyway. Waddaya want?
[there is a moment of silence from Dr.███]
Dr.███: I am here to ask you a few questions about the ODP.
H.Rift: Sure. Fire away.
Dr.███: Where exactly are you based?
H.Rift: I've told you before, Infinity.
Dr.███: But where is Infinity?
H.Rift: Pfff, everyone knows where Infinity is. It was the main site of the Adagioan take back of Adagio, remember?
Dr.███: I'm afraid I don't know what you are talking about.
[silence, then sounds of scribbling on a piece of paper at Rift's end]
H.Rift: (quietly) Right, so not in this universe. (louder) So anyway, um… next question!
Dr.███: How do you access the entire internet from one location, which, evidently, is not even in our universe?
H.Rift: Matter-to-binary converter linked up to a router which itself is hooked up to a really powerful satellite dish. With a wormhole in the emitter.
Dr.███: I'm guessing this is no ordinary router?
H.Rift: Oh, no. You wouldn't find one of these outside of any digital policing department. [there is a clunk in the background, presumably made by H.Rift slapping the top of the router]
Dr.███: Why are you policing Earth?
H.Rift: Well, Earth is… (Here it seems as if Harvey was about to say something else, but catches himself at the last moment) … a very… nice place to be. And we want to try and help other species.
Dr.███: Right… but do you have a more direct reason for doing it?
H.Rift: No, no not particularly. Next question, please.

The remainder of the interview is carried out in the same fashion, with Dr.███ asking questions and H.Rift subsequently answering them, if quite vaguely. But it has been established through him that the ODP does not wish any harm to the human race, and may even help it if some sort of super computer virus infects the internet.

The SCP foundation currently still remains sceptical about the ODP, and will need more information about it before full trust is established.
