Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a blast-proof, steel-reinforced room with an area of 15 square meters, and a height of 3 meters. At 12 hour intervals, two(2) D-Class personnel must enter the room to refuel SCP-XXXX. If SCP-XXXX requests refueling earlier, it is to be granted, or else SCP-XXXX will attempt escape. Failure to provide these accommodations for 24 hours will result in increased aggressiveness.
A team including a minimum of two(2) members are required to be posted in a watchtower(see Addendum XXXX-001) small bunker 15 meters away from the containment site. One(1) of these members is to be equipped with FGM-148 'Javelin' fire and forget missile system, which is to be used in case of a containment breach. If breached, personnel should fire the missile system, aiming towards either the engine or the top of the turret. Once neutralized, SCP-XXXX should be moved back into the containment site, and the site must be repaired. During repairs, the turret and tracks must be removed, in order to prevent a Containment Breach during repairs to slow the regeneration process.
No personnel below Level 3 are permitted within the containment site. This may be waived for D-Class personnel involved in experimentation or refueling. If any personnel return after entering into SCP-XXXX itself, they will undergo a psychiatric evaluation. If deemed mentally stable, they will undergo treatment for injuries suffered and administered Class-B Amnestics. If deemed mentally unstable, they will be terminated immediately.
Description: SCP-XXXX is an M4 Sherman 'Firefly', used by British Forces in World War 2, with an area of roughly 42 m³(or 1483 ft³) It appears to be armed with a World War 2 era 17-pounder Anti-Tank Gun, with an additional M2HB Browning Machine Gun mounted on top of the turret. However, it has not been shown to use the machine gun during containment breaches. At the top of the turret, is a hatch leading to the interior, which has room for 4 people. With no ammo, it is unknown how SCP-XXXX fires. Subjects who enter this hatch rarely return, and the ones who do appear commonly suffer from [REDACTED] and varying amounts of [REDACTED].
SCP-XXXX has displayed an amount of sentience, being able to communicate with researchers in order to express basic emotions and desires. SCP-XXXX has also been shown to have regeneration powers. Regeneration times have been shown to be between ██ hours and █ years depending on severity of damage. It is unknown whether it is possible to be destroyed.
Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered on the outskirts of [REDACTED], Belgium on █/█/194█. The Foundation was alerted to the presence of an anomaly on █/█/194█ after a body recovery team returned from the tank after █ hours, suffering severe [REDACTED]. The body recovery team was terminated and civilian witnesses were administered Class-B Amnestics. SCP-XXXX was promptly moved to Site-77 for storage and further research. After a containment breach(see Incident XXXX-01) SCP-XXXX was transferred to the █-Wing of Site-81 on █/█/195█.
Addendum XXXX-01: Request has been submitted to move response personnel to a bunker after previous containment breach on █/██/197█. Request granted.
Addendum XXXX-02: Request has been submitted to terminate SCP-XXXX after recent escape attempt on █/█/198█. Request denied.
Note: We aren't exactly sure of the extent of its regeneration powers, therefore we cannot attempt termination without risking a catastrophic loss of personnel. -Agent Carter Walsh
Incident XXXX-01
At 9:03 AM on █/█/195█, a containment breach was reported after personnel standing guard were killed by sustained fire from SCP-XXXX. Responding task force was completely terminated by SCP-XXXX before it disappeared into the nearby mountains. SCP-XXXX was spotted approximately two hours later in [REDACTED], Italy. MTF Nu-7 is sent in to respond. At 11:13 AM, SCP-XXXX opened fire on [REDACTED], Italy. MTF Nu-7 responds within 15 minutes of attack. SCP-XXXX is neutralized and transferred back to base. Casualties estimates as high as 500. Witnesses were administered Class-A Amnestics and released. Injuries were treated at [REDACTED] Hospital. Newspapers reported story as mentally ill Italian soldier gone insane.
