SCP: XXXX (The Thought)

Containment Procedures: Any instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to be contained in custom form fitting cages and stored together in a high security containment chamber. Armed guards are to be posted outside of the containment chamber at all times. No staff is to know the nature of SCP-XXXX nor its direct location unless directly responsible for its containment or testing procedures. No less than two instances of SCP-XXXX-1 are to exist at any one time, under threat of a full scale breach of containment of the SCP-XXXX entity. Upon interaction with SCP-XXXX-1 under no circumstance is it be recognized as “alive” , and is to be looked and thought of as an inanimate object.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a parasitic pseudo-entity that can only spread via direct acknowledgement of an individual infected with the SCP-XXXX entity (to be referred as SCP-XXXX-1), as an independent, or living entity. "Acknowledgement" of any instance of SCP-XXXX-1 results in infection of the host (details limited await further testing). This is an intentionally broad description due to the difficulty in studying SCP-XXXX, or even the exact type of "acknowledgment" that infects an individual.

Within nanoseconds of "acknowledgement" SCP-XXXX begins to infect the mind of a host, inducing either violent hostile action toward any non-infected individuals or a ‘curling up’ into a ball or fetal position. What action the infected individual takes seems to vary depending on age and personality, but most able bodied adults are induced into a rage state.

Typically a new instance of SCP-XXXX-1 cannot spread SCP-XXXX immediately upon infection and may take up to a minute for SCP-XXXX-1 to reach the infectious stage of SCP-XXXX. Though cases of instantaneous infection and transferal have been reported by MTF agents tasked with initial research and containment, but this has yet to have been reported in the lab.

Testing has shown after a period of 7 to 15 minutes the new instance of SCP-XXXX-1 will begin to mutate into what is to be referred to as the final stage; in which the infected begin changing very rapidly in both behavior and physical appearance resulting in increased speed, strength, the complete blackening of the eyes, and what is described as an “Ink like” substance beginning to leak from subjects eyes. Subjects to appear to be in pain although throughout the transformation process, but it doesn’t appear to have an effect on there efforts to infect new potential hosts available.

Addendum- 1 : - SCP-XXXX was first reported on January, 23rd 2004, after a particular harsh blizzard hit the town of Mayville Colorado, population of roughly ~750 individuals, First reported by one Susan Vales via a satellite phone call originating 26 miles south southeast of Mayville to the Denver Police Department (see log:1-A) reporting the town was under attack by quote: “Demons from hell” Foundation unit MTF Epsilon-6 (Callsign: "Village Idiots") deployed into the area. Town Initially was reported completely deserted by drones, but after a MTF Epsilon-6 recon unit was sent in the investigate contact was lost shortly after deployment. (see incident report: xxxx-1)
