Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be permanently closed off to the public. Additionally, road blocks are to be stationed at each end of SCP-XXXX and two (2) guards are to be posted at each end at all times. In the event of a civilian entering the activation field of SCP-XXXX, the subject is to be terminated immediately. Due to the nature of SCP-XXXX, the terminated subject is to remain inside of SCP-XXXX.¹ Any changes in SCP-XXXX's frequent properties are to immediately be reported to site command at Site 59.

Description: SCP-XXXX is an avenue, previously known as Grant Street, located in the abandoned city of ███. The anomalous properties of SCP-XXXX are activated upon the entry of any biological entity within an area of 500 meters. Upon entry into the premises of SCP-XXXX, subjects experience its anomalous effects. Any biological organism that physically touches a subject affected by SCP-XXXX, will also become affected by SCP-XXXX. Dr. ██████ has been designated the official researcher leading the investigation of SCP-XXXX.

Stage 1: Subjects² initially report a "tingling feeling" throughout their entire body. This feeling has been noted to be similar to numbness.³

Stage 2: After ten minutes, subjects report feeling static electricity, in addition to feeling strong shocks periodically. Throughout the onset, these electric shocks are reported to be more frequent and more painful.

Stage 3: After thirty minutes, subjects become notably violent. Subjects that were tested in groups were noted to begin arguing and a number of tests have resulted in physical altercations. Singular subjects attempted to leave the activation zone and were subsequently terminated by personnel.

Stage 4: Forty minutes after initial exposure, wattage of shocks increases periodically in five minute intervals, causing an increase in aggressive behavior exhibited by the subject. 60 minutes after initial exposure, 80% of subjects expire due to sudden heart failure.

Addendum-XXXX-A: On ███████ ██, 1983, the first test regarding SCP-XXXX was hosted by Dr. ██████. During the finishing procedures of this test, subjects were ordered to leave the activation zone of SCP-XXXX. The anomalous effects of SCP-XXXX continued to affect the test subjects, along with an additional anomalous effect. Subjects attempted to fight personnel, resulting in personnel being affected by SCP-XXXX. Affected personnel and the subjects were terminated and disposed of by MTF Stigma-7 "Electric Avenue."

Due to this nature, the containment procedures of SCP-XXXX have been updated accordingly.

SCP-C-5

Special Containment Procedures: At this point in time, SCP-C-5 has no method of being contained. To prevent further damages to personnel and property, the Engineering and Logistics is to repair damage caused by SCP-C-5's tremors and construct barriers around the ravines created by SCP-C-5. Mobile Task Force Beta-7 is to monitor the anomaly and report any changes to Site Command.

Instances of SCP-C-5-1 are to be left inside of the ravines or contained within a temporary storage area.

Description: SCP-C-5 is an anomaly affecting the terrain around Area-41. SCP-C-5 is characterized by occasional earthquakes ranging on the Richter scale from 0.3 to 1. At the time of writing, the largest earthquake was rated at a 9. Noticeably, this anomaly causes ravines to appear in the terrain. These ravines contain a radioactive substance⁴ that emits high amounts of electricity, ranging over ten billion watts.

SCP-C-5-1 are white, fog-like anomalies that are hostile towards living organisms. SCP-C-5-1 instances normally form a singular sphere of fog, but will spread out when a living organism is near them. These instances will immediately terminate the organism upon contact with its fog.

SCP-C-5-2 is the unknown substance within the ravines produced by SCP-C-5. SCP-C-5-2 is a liquid substance that is highly radioactive, toxic to living organisms, and contains traces of carbon.

Currently, the origin and cause of SCP-C-5 is unknown.⁵ Addendums will be added to categorize new information as it is received.⁶

+ Addendum-C-5-A

Addendum-C-5-A: Point Charlie has been constructed inside the original ravine in order to assist with anomaly research. Dr. ██████ is to lead the research team.

Point Beta is also constructed to barricade a smaller ravine.

The research team has gathered the following data:

Analysis of the terrain surrounding Area-41 has shown a large chasm exists underneath the facility. Exploration of the chasm is not advised, due to the nature of the substance within the ravines.

SCP-C-5-2 has been safely gathered and analyzed. Substance is highly radioactive and contains traces of carbon.

Submersibles sent into the ravine could not find a bottom.

+ Addendum-C-5-B

Point Delta.

Addendum-C-5-B: At 1:30 PM local time, SCP-C-5-2 rose by an estimated 29 meters. Beta-7 and available Engineering personnel were sent to Point Charlie to investigate. Point Charlie was almost completely flooded by SCP-C-5-2, resulting in Point Charlie being evacuated and undamaged equipment being recovered.

Alongside this event, a new ravine measuring over 1710 meters in length had formed near Area-41 earlier. Engineering & Logistics personnel have already begun construction on a Point Delta.

Point Charlie personnel are to now be in place at the newly constructed Point Delta.

Point Beta has also experienced an increase of SCP-C-5-2. However, this station only acted as a barricade, resulting in no extra action needing to be taken.

+ Addendum-C-5-C

An instance of SCP-C-5-1.

Addendum-C-5-C: At 2:00 PM local time, SCP-C-5-2 within the Point Delta ravine had risen by 8 meters. This does not currently pose a threat as Point Delta has been constructed above the ravine, rather than within it.

A time table has been created to help manage current events.

*3:00 PM*: An instance of SCP-C-5-1 appears within the Point Delta ravine.

*3:04 PM*: Another instance of SCP-C-5-1 appears within the Point Delta ravine.

*3:07 PM*: A third instance of SCP-C-5-1 appears within the Point Delta ravine.

*3:10 PM*: An instance of SCP-C-5-1 breaches, but is re-contained by a MTF unit within the next minute.

*3:14 PM*: A fourth instance of SCP-C-5-1 appears within the Point Delta ravine.

*3:50 PM*: All instances of SCP-C-5-1 are successfully contained within Point Delta by Beta-7.

*4:00 PM*: The ravines near Point Charlie and Point Beta are both found empty, with SCP-C-5-2 being completely removed from the ravines. Indicating the pumping systems have been successful.

*4:40 PM*: Two unknown sounds are heard throughout the area, followed by a singular louder sound.

*4:45 PM*: SCP-C-5-2 rises by 3 meters within the Point Delta ravine.

*4:55 PM*: Point Charlie's ravine is found to have been completely filled with SCP-C-5-2, indicating the substance had risen by about 68 meters. The generators and the pumping system is found to have fallen into the ravine.

*5:00 PM* SCP-C-5-2 increases by 8 meters in the Point Delta ravine.

*6:00 PM*: Three new instances of SCP-C-5-1 appear in the Point Delta Ravine. Beta-7 personnel contain the new instances with the previous ones. SCP-C-5-2 also rises by another 8 meters, consuming the measuring stick in the process.

+ Addendum-C-5-D

On Friday, at 3:00 PM local time, Point Beta and Charlie were found empty and are now considered neutralized. However, located in the Point Delta ravine was a singular purple tendril protruding from SCP-C-5-2. Emitting from the tendril was what is thought to be a heartbeat. A sample of this tendril was cut off and brought to a lab for testing purposes, with the following results being found:

-The sample contains water.

-The DNA sequence is complex and unlike any known living organism.

-The sample contained carbon, helium and iron.

-The sample is composed of eukaryotic cells.

-Carbon dating estimates the sample's age to be older than the Earth's, signifying a possible extraterrestrial origin.

With this information, it is hypothesized that the cause of SCP-C-5 is a large organism residing under Area-41. Possibly within the chasm underneath the facility.
