SCP-5003 "Reverse Chameleon Goat"
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5003 may be kept in a standard Non-Human Biological Anomaly Containment Unit. However, due to the properties of SCP-5003, it must be cycled between at least five (5) of these units, preferably remaining in each one for no longer than two (2) days or forty-eight (48) hours. These cells must have tiled walls as opposed to singular ones. It is to be sustained by a diet suitable for a domestic goat.
Description: SCP-5003 appears to be a young domestic goat (*capra aegagrus hircus*), possibly an infant or only slightly older than that. It has a brown coat with white patches. When exposed to any surface by means of walking on it or rubbing against it, SCP-5003's anomalous properties activate, causing that surface to become an instance of SCP-5003-1. Instances of SCP-5003-1 will take on a pattern matching that of SCP-5003's coat, thus allowing SCP-5003 to camouflage itself against a background of multiple instances of SCP-5003-1.
Exposed to tiles, SCP-5003 will transmute them into instances of SCP-5003-1 one by one, as it comes in contact with each one in turn. Exposed to smooth surfaces, SCP-5003 has shown itself to be capable of transmuting up to eighty (80) square feet around it into SCP-5003-1 instantaneously. An instance of SCP-5003-1 will transmute itself back to a normal substance after approximately four (4) days or ninety-six (96) hours.
It has been suggested that there is a further anomalous property in the interaction between SCP-5003 and SCP-5003-1, in that while it should be camouflaged against the tiles- and still observable -multiple staff trained in spotting camouflaged persons or entities have failed to locate SCP-5003 against a background of SCP-5003-1. This includes \[Rank Redacted\] P. Nelson, who trained as a sniper for the US Navy SEALS before being transferred to the UIU. He was brought in and shown SCP-5003 in a containment chamber whose walls and floor had been fully transmuted into SCP-5003-1. After three hours, Nelson admitted that he could not locate the anomaly.
Use of thermal, psionic, clairvoyant and X-ray scanning negates this "secondary effect".
SCP-5003 was discovered by the Foundation after Agent \[Name Redacted for Privacy\] "*Dangerous Tangerine*" found a picture of it on Tumblr. The anomaly was located and seized by MTF Retrieval Team Upsilon-45 "Okay Redacted" on June 20, \[Year Redacted\].
