Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe Euclid Keter
Special Containment Procedures: Foundation personnel have been unable to move the SCP itself, so strict protocols have been set up to watch for SCP-XXXX activity and SCP-XXXX-A appearances. Any civilians to have dealt with an instance of SCP-XXXX-A should be captured and given amnesetics in accordance to order 335-6A.
SCP - XXXX is housed within the Wolf Point East apartment building. The building itself was built for the sole purpose of monitoring, testing, and guarding SCP - XXXX. It is in a hidden garage accessible only by members of the Foundation and under careful guard after incident 16-D.
Accessing any of the 3 levels above the garage requires 02 clearance or higher. 01 clearance needed for testing.
Class D personnel with no knowledge of other SCP’s must be used when doing experiments with SCP-XXXX. SCP-XXXX-A instances have been known to produce other SCPs as well. (See Experiment Series 16 for more information).
Description: SCP-XXXX is a nondescript light post in Chicago. It works as any other lamp in the city might, turning on at night and off in the morning. Locals asked about the post don’t have anything interesting to say about it.
However, if you approach SCP-XXXX looking for something, a man appears. SCP-XXXX-A Typically wears a trench coat (has been observed in tan, black, and dark blue) and seems to be a caucasian male about 40 years of age. The instance will ask the subject if they have lost something, and then proceed to offer them what they’re looking for by opening up its coat and revealing the item (or items) the subject could be looking for.
SCP-XXXX-A can only manifest objects that are within the terrestrial boundaries of the planet earth, as attempts to get, for example, dust from Mars was met with “I have some lovely lunar dust, just as good, and not as red.” Other similar experiments attempting to get otherworldly items proved fruitless, unless the objects themselves were on planet at the time.
FOUNDATION PERSONNEL IN EXPERIMENT 16-A MANAGED TO PROCURE NUCLEAR MATERIAL, SUGGESTED KETER RATING - Researcher Davis
Notes from Director Cavanaugh - “You all went in there LOOKING FOR THAT, no one else will be going to a ghetto in Chicago looking for NUCLEAR WEAPONS. Euclid, keep protocol and observe who uses it, use amnesetics and make them think they got whatever they got from somewhere else, as long as it itself is not a hazard. Researcher Davis is to be reassigned to a less stressful position.”
Items of Note to have been received by SCP-XXXX-A instances:
Experiment 1 - E: A signed postcard from Elvis (certified authentic when examined)
Experiment 5 - A: A wedding ring that had been thrown into a Volcano
Observation 76: The head of a rival gang leader
Observation 233: Arnoldo Jimenez, an FBI Most Wanted, was offered to an officer looking for him as he passed by the light.
Experiment 11 - A: Gold Bars from Fort Knox
Experiment 13 - E: The Queen of Englands pinky ring
Experiment 16 - A:Nuclear Material needed for making of a nuclear weapon. (SCP-XXXX class updated to Euclid)
Experiment 16 - C: Various drugs both real and imaginary
Experiment 16 - D: SCP- 902 (SCP-XXXX class updated to Keter. Future testing requires only Class D personnel with no SCP knowledge.)
Addendum: 0-2 Notes: Under no circumstances can we allow anyone with knowledge of any of the more dangerous SCP's to get near SCP-XXXX. Could you imagine if someone thought about the lizard, or worse near it? We cannot allow that to happen. SCP-902 was bad enough.
