Ogatu: "The Nullifying Bracelet"

Object Class: SAFE // PENDING FURTHER CLASSIFICATION

Special Containment Procedures: Object-XXX Is to be taken to Zulu Site 237-██60 upon acquisition (see: Addendum:-XXXX-1)

Location: ██°██'██.█"N █°██'██.█"E. Due to the nature of Object-XXX it cannot be transported without being "assigned" to a host. (see: DESCRIPTORS - HIGHLY CLASSIFIED)

Upon host assignment Object-XXX can be properly stored at Zulu Site 237-██60 on priority containment level 0. Once storage preparation has been finalized Object-XXX is to be removed from the field agent, by either the field agent themselves (if they assigned Object-XXX personally.) If for some reason Object-XXX was assigned to the host from an outside entity, that entity is to accompany the field agent to Zulu Site 237-██60 and await further instruction from Dr. Ash███ J.

Outside entities are not permitted to leave Zulu Site 237-██60 until they have removed Object-XXX from the host. Once Object-XXX has been removed from a host it can be handled as a non anomalous object. At this time Object-XXX is to be permanently stored in coordination with Dr. Ash███ J. and Level 0's head of containment.

In the event that Object-XXX cannot be transported to Zulu Site 237-██60 field agents are instructed to contact headquarters for deployment of a securement team on location to have a new containment site erected as soon as possible.

Erected site(s) should contain an underground level of at least 100 decoy vaults and one vault to actually contact Object-XXX. Armed personnel should be posted throughout the facility in the event of a breach. If any outside entity attempts to procure Object-XXX they are to be terminated on sight and additional SCP agents are to be contacted for further security detail.

*Under NO circumstances upon retrieval are agents to make any contact with other biological entities.*

Description: When Object-XXX was initially retrieved back in ██/██/15██ it appeared to be nothing more than a gold embroidered bracelet roughly 16.51cm in diameter and 5.08cm thick. Often accompanying a simplistic looking lock that snaps in place for putting the bracelet on and taking it off.

Origins of Object-XXX are currently unknown, however scientists have been able to speculate based on design and signs of atomic decay that the device appears to be roughly 8██ years old.
Official records should indicate that Object-XXX has historical records of use dating back to ██████ years.

Properties: The Nullifying Bracelet: May appear anomalous at first depending on the viewers current understanding of basic to advanced forms of locking mechanisms and other varied forms of "device locking." Observers have reported various visual states of Object-XXX. The most basic form that is frequently described is listed above.

Interest was first peaked when Vault-██7 was undergoing standard inspections and archiving, when there was a data "mismatch" reported. Dr. Ash███ J. the inspector at that time had reported a gold bracelet with intricate, unidentifiable engravings along the inner circlet of the band and an external
touchscreen with a multi factor validating code locking display, which was typically used for nuclear launch code procurements at the time.

This description was not under item logging and was filed with the head of Vault-██7. Item #4772 was deemed "SAFE" at the time and cleared for testing. **(See Addendum: XXXX-1 for further detail.)

After vigorous testing Item #4772 was official deemed an Object of severe anomalous properties and listed under Object-XXX code named "The Nullifying Bracelet."

HIGHLY CLASSIFIED DESCRIPTORS Any S.C.P personnel with clearance Level 3 or lower will be immediately terminated upon proceeding.

When Object-XXX comes into contact with any biological organisms it will immediately change it's visual appearance and form to be worn by the entity in physical contact with it.

Reports indicate the entity "assigning" the trinket either to themselves or another biological
life-form will understand the locking mechanisms that alter, so they can be accessed. At this point the bracelet will unlock from 2 hinge clasps so it can be attached to a "host." Upon a host adorning the bracelet they will typically appear to undergo immediate, severe fatigue.

Levels of fatigue can vary depending on the wearer's current physical, anomalous and intellectual traits. Entities with limited to minimal exemplifications in the listed traits will be impacted the most. This had lead researches to believe that the creator of "The Nullifying Bracelet" had designed it to hinder life forms with extreme levels of strength, anomalous properties/abilities or intelligence.

Due to the limited number of S.C.P personnel's access to lifeforms that fit these criteria, further research needs to be conducted to confirm if the bracelet has minimal impacts on any known biological entities.

Current understanding suggests the bracelet has no know weaknesses to: tampering, pressure, heat, force, cutting, or outside anomalous forces. Testing has also indicated that the bracelets primary functions, listed above, are effective on all known life forms.

An average person should under no circumstances come into contact with "The Nullifying Bracelet." If the bracelet is "assigned" to such an individual they will experience the following symptoms:

• Extreme fatigue up to fainting, or in more extreme cases complete loss of consciousness up to comatose.
• Limited cognitive functioning, which can cause: confusion, hysteria, reduced self awareness, grogginess and or feelings of euphoria.
• "Average" wearers also experience a significant impact in physical strength. Varying from: Difficulty walking, running, squatting, lifting, pushing, pulling, or jumping.
• In more extreme cases the bracelet limits physical functioning to the point of being unable to lift, push or pull 1kg in weight with any extremities.
• Wearers typically report difficulty with perceiving lapses in time as well.

Prolonged exposure to "The Nullifying Bracelet" for all Earthly lifeforms will result in the following:

Common observances indicate that varying time-frames of exposure from 30 minutes-2 hours (compounding) will cause an increasing intensity of the listed symptoms above.

Symptom compounding effects hit a peak of intensity after 24-48 hours depending on the initial response to exposure. After this peak interval subjects would "vanish into thin air." As expressed by Dr. Ash███ J.

Further testing is needed at this time to confirm the whereabouts and state of individuals who underwent prolonged exposure. It is inconclusive at this time if subjects
were terminated or transported to another location.

All testing subjects that underwent the prolonged exposure experiment are assumed to be diseased or missing until contact can be made with said individuals.

For reasons stated above extreme caution should be taken when "assigning" any form of "host" to "The Nullifying Bracelet."

Addendum:-XXXX-1

+ Testing Logs

Test A - 03/15/1985

Subject: Human Subject(s) 1-20, with varying fields of employment.

Procedure: H-Subject(s) 1-20 were instructed to observe the bracelet through an observation room and report these observations individually.
Subjects were then instructed to make observations in groups of two and report.
Final instructions were given for individual contact with the bracelet.

Observations are under official archives.

Results: all 20 subject observation reports were varying in regards to the locking mechanism that is present on the bracelet. Overall visual confirmations did not indicate any form of change in the form, shape, or size of the bracelet band. No inscriptions, writing or other external changes were reported.

The most basic form of locking mechanism reported is as follows from H-Subject 7: "I mean it just looked like, you know, a golden bracelet? Nothing special. Oh, the lock? I mean it just looked like a simple button. One you push in with your finger and the clasp comes loose. Then you can put it on. Why Even Bother having that. Couldn't you just slip it on?" — END OF OBSERVATION REPORT.

The most complex form of locking mechanism reported was from H-Subject 13. The official observation report was never archived, however a general descriptor was provided.

The lock featured what appeared to be a multi step series of timed switch devices that needed to be pressed in a sequence the subject "just understood." Under the band where the mechanism was present appeared to be a voice authentication module attached to a finger print scanning screen. Then you would need to introduce an aerosol form of [REDACTED] into the [REDACTED] sensor and it would unhinge."

Group observations resulted in both subjects observing a form of the locking mechanism they could both understand. Preferencing the individual who had the more basic understanding of these mechanics. No group was unable to identify the primary functions of the locking mechanisms.
Physical contact with the device resulted in identical reports with observations.
No variance of change was reported for any subjects.

Analysis: Item #4772 has capabilities of anomalous morphing. The Bracelet is capable of changing the appearance and form of the locking mechanism in accordance with the observer(s) understanding of locking mechanisms. The bracelet is somehow able to decipher the observer's most complex idea of a lock and prioritize that understanding to reflect this in it's locking features.

Test B - 08/10/1985

Subject: ** Human Male, 23 years old, healthy with medium build.
Procedure:** Test subject B was instructed to enter the containment room with the bracelet and place the bracelet on their right wrist. After device application test subject B was instructed to leave the device on for an undefined amount of time.
The subject was fitted with vital monitoring devices to further understand the affects.

Results: Upon application of the bracelet Test Subject B showed signs of immediate fatigue, coupled with signs of confusion, grogginess, difficulty focusing, walking, sitting, and standing up.

30 minutes into the test the subject requested a glass of water. When they were handed the glass of water they were not able to sufficiently grip the glass, which resulted in them dropping the glass and it shattering. The subject was then given a camel bag and tube. The tube had to be placed in their mouth for them. They exhibited difficulty drinking from the tube.

At the 1 hour and 30 minute mark of exposure observers reported the male subject was going in and out of consciousness, but vital monitoring devices showed no signs of decline in health. The subject was no longer able to sit against the wall and began to lie down on the floor. Observers requested facilitators to bring the subject a bed to rest in. The subject's level of fatigue and energy were so low they had to be lifted into the bed. The subject did not express any signs of pain or discomfort.

After 2 hours of prolonged exposure to the bracelet the subject requested the device be removed. Observers had to ask for repeated verbal confirmation as the subject expressed extreme symptoms in difficulty with speech.

Facilitators deemed the subject too inoculated at this point after asking a series of basic questions.
When asked "Where are you?" the subject responded with, "I'm not sure, I just don' twant….[INAUDIBLE]

Facilitators attempted further questioning, but the subject was unresponsive and the bracelet was removed.

Analysis: Upon immediate application of the bracelet the subject was severely suppressed in physical strength, cognitive functioning and overall energy levels.
Prolonged exposure appears to exacerbate these affects and cause a form of compounding "nullifying" affect of the above properties.
Human's should not wear this device under any circumstances.
Further prolonged exposure testing is awaiting approval.
Further tests need to be conducted on other biological life forms.
Item #4772 is to be documented as Object-XXX and managed under SCP-XXXX.

Test C - 09/01/1985

Subject: Human Male, [REDACTED], Military Personnel, Large Build, 6'3, health exceeds average for age and weight.

Procedure: Test Subject C was briefed on the current understanding of Object-XXX and agreed to undergo undetermined prolonged exposure.
All forms of medical waivers and fault/loss waivers were signed and testing was approved.
Test Subject C was instructed to put the "Nullifying Bracelet" on and not remove it.
The subject actually requested that someone else put it on, so he would be less tempted to remove it.

Results: After the facilitator placed the bracelet on test subject C they experienced similar affects as Test Subject B. (SEE: Addendum:-XXXX-1 // Test B)
Subject C stated at that time they were unable to see the locking mechanism on the bracelet and was not able to take it off. The bracelet did not indicate any response mechanism with attempts to remove it. As testing procedures continued similar affects were noted with time lapse in that Subject C showed signs of difficulty standing, sitting, moving and performing basic functions after being exposed to the bracelet for 5 hours.

Affects continued to compound through exposure up to 24 hours. At this time the Subject C showed sever signs of fatigue, confusion, disorientation, and fear.

Test Subject C audio transcription at 12:00PM CST: "Guys.. I.. I.. [INAUDIBLE] dying… this thing is.. [INAUDIBLE] me. I.. can.. feel it… [TRANSCRIPT END]

As the subject was speaking test facilitators noted that the subject "vanished into thin air." confirmed by Dr. Ash███ J.

The bracelet fell to the ground and the locking mechanism opened.
Test C ended at approximately 24 hours 5 minutes.

Analysis: Prolonged exposure to Object-XXX has a compounding nullifying affect up to a peak interval of approximately 24 hours. At this point the host of the bracelet will "vanish." Vanished hosts should be deemed M.I.A or deceased, whichever option provides the most reasonable explanation.

Addendum: XXXX-2 Incident XXXX-Z

HIGHLY CLASSIFIED INCIDENT REPORT RESTRICTED TO LEVEL 5 PERSONNEL ONLY.

PROCEEDING FORWARD WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF ANY S.C.P PERSONNEL WITH LEVEL 4 CLEARANCE OR LOWER.

+ Incident XXXX-Z Report

[At approximately 0100 hours Vault-██7 on Zulu Site 237-██60 was breached by [REDACTED] on 09/██/████ see

What was described as a [REDACTED] flew through the ceiling of Zulu Site 237-██60, breaching all levels of reinforced Tungsten to level 0.

The Tungsten reinforcement plating was melting and dripping in a molten form through the breached radius. [REDACTED] walked directly towards Object-XXX, placed the bracelet around its wrist, the flew out of the facility. Contact with site 0 was inconclusive.

Official reports should state that the Incident ████-Z never occurred and that the status of Object-XXX should be officially noted as "wrongfully archived via a data miss-matching report" and "awaiting retrieval.
