Item #: SCP-XXXX
Containment Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained by securing the property line to prevent civilian interference insurrection. Armed SCP Personnel are to be posted around the border of the property, guarding the home at all times. Teams are posted along the line every 20 10 meters to efficiently cover the entire border. Research teams are to have a minimum security clearance of level 3. No more than 20 researchers are permitted to be inside the building at any given time, as per the request of the proprietor.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 3-story Victorian-era home located approximately twenty miles from [REDACTED], Pennsylvania. The property surrounding the home is heavily wooded except for a gravel path leading to [REDACTED] Drive and a lake approximately 80 meters from the southern face of the building. The home is otherwise unremarkable from the outside, with the exception of a sign hanging from the porch roof that reads “Jeanne’s Home for Strange and Lost Creatures”. The interior experiences shifting geometry, adding and extending rooms to accommodate for every person currently within the house. Foundation scientists are unsure whether these rooms are individual pocket dimensions, as generated rooms are person-specific (See Experiments XXXX-1A to 1Z.) In addition to SCP-XXXX’s ability to accommodate an undetermined (presumed infinite) amount of residents, it also has a calming effect (See experiments XXXX-2A to 2P.) SCP-XXXX-01 claims that the house is sentient, capable of hearing and seeing, and can grant some minor requests, including cessation of its calming abilities. These claims were verified in incident [not yet written]
Tests XXXX-1A to 1Z - 4/13/2010
Subjects: Non-anomalous objects
Procedure: In experiments XXXX-1A through XXXX-1Z, Foundation scientists (referred to as “Research Team XXXX-A”) placed 36 non-anomalous objects, recording their positions and orientations, in what SCP-XXXX-01 referred to as “your rooms.” Team A promptly left the building. Team B entered, in an attempt to determine the nature of SCP-XXXX's anomalous room generation. Experiments 1Y through 1Z, running cameras were placed inside the room.
Results: The items were no longer present and the furniture of the rooms were differently colored and placed. Upon the return of Team XXXX-A, the items had returned, located in the exact positions they were in previously. This effect was observed across all experiments of the kind. Camera footage was recovered.
Analysis: Camera footage revealed the relocation of the room into an unknown spacial anomaly. The rooms are relocated to a pocket dimension of unknown origin once the "resident" has left.
Tests XXXX-2A to 2P - 4/16/2010
Subjects: 10 D-Class personnel
Procedure: In experiments XXXX-2A through XXXX-2P, 10 D-Class Personnel with documented anger issues were brought into SCP-XXXX. Research Team XXXX-A then attempted to anger the D-Class through any means they could think of.
Results: Despite their original anger issues, the D-Class Personnel were not adversely affected whatsoever by Team XXXX-A’s attempts.
Analysis: This effect is imposed across the entire property, ending exactly at the property line. Cases of clinical depression, anger issues, and even symptoms of bipolar disorder lessened due to exposure to this effect. Affected beings return to normal immediately after crossing the threshold.
Note: Use of SCP-XXXX’s calming ability to neutralize hostile Keter-Class SCPs was proposed but the proposal was retracted at the SCP-XXXX-01's request.
Item #: SCP-XXXX-01
Containment Class: Euclid
SCP-XXXX-01 is a human female named Jeanne [REDACTED], who legally owns the property. It claims to be 27 years old. Upon request, SCP-XXXX-01 produced documents that confirm its purchase of the home on [REDACTED], and does not know the origins of the house’s anomalous effects. SCP-XXXX-01 is permitted to leave the property any time it wishes is not permitted to leave the property.
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-01
Interviewer: Dr. John Hammond, Site-[REDACTED]
Foreword: The following interview and negotiations were conducted by doctor John Hammond, who was placed in charge of the site during the initial investigation.
[BEGIN LOG]
SCP-XXXX-01: Um, I’m sorry but why are you here?
Dr. Hammond: You are reportedly in possession of 14 anomalous items, is that correct?
SCP-XXXX-01: Yes, it is.
Dr. Hammond: I see. Do you understand how dangerous these things can be?
SCP-XXXX-01: They don’t hurt me, and they’re not hurting anyone else. I make sure of it.
Dr. Hammond: How do you make sure of it?
SCP-XXXX-01: I can calm them down. They can’t use their powers around me.
Dr. Hammond: (muttering to himself, writing down notes)
SCP-XXXX-01: I'm sorry, what was that? What do you plan on doing with my home?
Dr. Hammond: Huh? Oh. We wish to conduct some experiments. Nothing more, nothing less. Your home will be under the protection of the Foundation so long as we are welcome.
SCP-XXXX-01: And also when you’re not, I take it.
Dr. Hammond: Er- Yes, I suppose. My apologies. We are not here to take your home or your charges, so long as they prove to be as docile as you claim.
SCP-XXXX-01: I suppose that’s a good deal. We’re still going to be living life like before, right? No security checkpoints or decontamination showers?
Dr. Hammond: If you want to leave, yes. But besides that, if this home is safe we should need nothing more than some armed guards around the property line. You will be considered an employee of the Foundation.
SCP-XXXX-01: Alright. I’ll let you come in and play, just don’t bring in too many people, alright? I’m-
(Loud shouting from around the back of the house)
SCP-XXXX-01: (Standing up) Crap. Uh, be right back.
Dr. Hammond: Get a security team down there asap! Yes, that means stop recording!
[END LOG]
Interviewer’s note: SCP-XXXX-01 looks and acts like a normal human female. Though she it claims to be 27 years old, it was unable to provide a birth certificate or any other confirmation of this, nor was the Foundation able to locate any. It provided an ID when asked, and the deed to the house, but there is presently no evidence that SCP-XXXX-01 is telling the truth about its age or origin.
Addendum XXXX.1: 05/17/2011 incident
Shortly after SCP-XXXX’s initial containment and the cooperation between the Foundation and SCP-XXXX-01, during the 0900 shift change a previously undocumented anomalous entity passed the property line, moving at 30 miles per hour towards the east face of the house. Foundation security were taken by surprise and were incapable of subduing the entity before it reached the front door. The entity knocked twice, and SCP-XXXX-1 answered after a moment’s delay. By this time, armed Foundation personnel had covered all means of escape and were preparing to fire. Before the undocumented anomaly could be neutralized, SCP-XXXX-01 had quickly pulled it behind her, shielding the creature with her body. SCP-XXXX-01 refused to give up the anomalous person - a small child with the ability to bend time around him - to foundation personnel, insisting that it had been “Granted Sanctuary”. The anomaly has been recorded as an instance of SCP-XXXX (XXXX-15) after consideration by Research Teams XXXX-A, B, and C. After incident 05/17/2011 and the following interviews, the Facility guard teams surrounding SCP-XXXX were doubled in size, and a “Baton Pass” shift change method was adopted to prevent such incidents in the future.
Interviewed: SCP-XXXX-01
Interviewer: Dr. John Hammond, Site-[REDACTED]
Foreword: The following Interview was conducted on 05/18/2011 by Dr. John Hammond.
[BEGIN LOG]
Dr. Hammond: Hello again, Jeanne. So, what happened last night?
SCP-XXXX-01: Theo received sanctuary. He was called here, same as all the others. I don’t know how, maybe it’s the house. Maybe it’s me. But this place… attracts people. They find their way here, guided by the little voice in the back of their head that tells them they’ll be safe once they find what they are looking for.
Dr. Hammond: (Taking notes) SCP-XXXX-15 is named Theo? Hmm. We believe he was bending time around him, changing the speed at which he was traveling. Have you noticed anything else about SCP-XXXX-15? How do you think SCP-XXXX performs this “call?”
SCP-XXXX-01: No, just that. The little guy’s been sleeping all morning. He’s exhausted. And I don’t know.
Dr. Hammond: Alright. We’re going to need information on any new “residents” that crop up from now on, is that okay?
SCP-XXXX-01: That’s fine.
[END LOG]
Closing Statement: SCP-XXXX-01 proved to be very informative. It agreed to share information on any new anomalous objects or beings that come into its possession henceforth.
Interviewer’s note: [COMMENTS INCONSEQUENTIAL TO OPERATION OMITTED FOR BREVITY] SCP-XXXX-01 has proved very helpful. Looking forward to further cooperation.
Addendum XXXX.2: Journal access and new information
After incident 05/17/2011, SCP-XXXX-01 granted the Foundation permission to scan and document the contents of her journal, inside which it had detailed the abilities of its charges, as well as their preferences and habits.
Addendum XXXX.3: 12/22/13 incident
At 1500 hours, SCP-XXXX-03 ("Wooden Marionette") was believed by Foundation personnel to be attempting to exit the property. Site guards resorted to an armed response after multiple attempts at communication failed. After being fired upon, XXXX-03 wielded a tree branch like a weapon, threatening the armed personnel in order to prevent further advance. It was immediately restrained, but its body fell apart at the joints, each section escaping individually, before reconnecting in another location. SCP Personnel secured the separated parts of SCP-XXXX-03 in individual containers and held until SCP-XXXX-01 agreed to further restrictions on the property line.
Researcher's note: Observed a small shudder through the House while the negotiations were held. The shudder's origin could not be determined. However, we really can't be sure that it was anomalous in nature. The thing's ancient, for pete's sake.
Addendum XXXX.4: 3/01/14 incident
At 0700 hours, SCPs XXXX-08 and XXXX-05 were sighted approaching a security outpost located north-northwest of the house. When confronted by armed personnel, XXXX-08 and -05 returned to the property, claiming to be taking an early morning walk. The armed personnel were barred from following SCPs XXXX-08 and XXXX-05 into the home by an unknown force and were not able to enter the dwelling until the following morning.
Researcher's note: Those stupid creaks inside the house again! They freak me out.
Addendum XXXX.5: 4/12/14 incident
Containment breach at 1000 hours. An invisible entity, presumed to be SCP-XXXX-11 ("That Other Guy") crossed the property line through a security checkpoint, rendering two foundation personnel unconscious in the act. SCP-XXXX-11 has not returned to the site, according to residents of SCP-XXXX. Security has been tightened further, and onsite personnel have requested for Mobile Task Force presence on the grounds to prevent further breaches. SCP-XXXX-11 has been reclassified as "Keter."
Researcher's note: These incidents are getting worse, and more frequent. I'm not sure I like where this is going.
Addendum XXXX.6: Surveillance Report
On 4/13/14, listening devices planted inside of SCP-XXXX picked up the following conversation.
SCP-XXXX-01: Family meeting. Now.
SCP-XXXX-08: What is it, Jeanne?
SCP-XXXX-10: Something's wrong, isn't it?
SCP-XXXX-01: We'll be fine. The Foundation's tightening security again.
quiet muttering from multiple sources
SCP-XXXX-01: Enough of that. I think we can tough it out, guys. He'll make sure of it.
Unknown: Are we sure it's safe to talk about him?
SCP-XXXX-01: (Hushed) Shh! You're not here, remember?
SCP-XXXX-03: (clicking)
SCP-XXXX-01: No, I don't think they do. For now, let's keep it to ourselves. Keep living life, everyone. Things will get better soon.
Addendum XXXX.7: 5/02/14 incident
Experimentation with SCP-XXXX-10 ("Dream Garden") ceased upon the death of 15 Foundation Personnel accessing the Garden as of 0300 hours. Survivors report hearing low growls from the forests ringing the Dream Garden's sphere of influence, before all of the D-class performing experiments as well as two scientists and two guards collapsed, dead. Vital signs immediately ceased in the afflicted personnel's sleeping bodies. SCP-XXXX-10 has been confiscated and placed within a container until further notice.
Researcher's note: What the hell!?
Addendum XXXX.8: 5/09/14 incident
Minor skirmish occurred between residents of SCP-XXXX and Mobile Task Force Beta-76 "Homewreckers" after its arrival at 1200 hours. SCP-XXXX-01 attempted to leave the property as per the initial agreement but was stopped by Beta-76 at the border. The incident resulted in no casualties on either side. Terms have been rewritten, and SCP-XXXX-01 is no longer permitted to leave the property.
