Pearl's defense mechanism

Item #: SCP-5133

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5133 Needs to be contained in a 10x10x5m² pen with a bathtub full of salty water in it. All personnel is allowed to access its' cage, but only for less than 5 hours a day. There may be only one personnel at a time in its' presence. SCP-5133 needs its' cage to be rearranged at least once in a week.

It needs to get new shells and stars as a decoration every month, while the old ones need to be thrown away because of their quick degradation. It needs music to be played for at least for an hour in the pen, and needs to change their playlist on a regular basis. It likes to get gifts, especially art supplies or books.

Furthermore, SCP-5133 needs to be provided with different kind of objects to paint and to be provided access to some of the facility grounds at any time it wishes, and can be left without supervision. SCP-5133 can access SCP-5134's chamber at any time it wants to, and can access to containment chambers storing SCPs with safe classification with supervision.

Description: SCP-5133 is an anthropomorphic creature, whose entire body is made out of calcium carbonate, in other words pearl. It has the appearance of a woman in its' 20's, but upon further physical examination it turned out the specimen is around a thousand years old. It doesn't have genitalias. SCP-5133 is 185 cm (6 feet) tall, and is 70.5 kgs (155.4lbs). It seems to have hair made out of calcium carbonate as well, which has the physics of human hair. It has a tongue, eyes, nails and teeth also made out of pearl. It does not produce saliva since it does not need to be fed, but when it cries, it cries saltwater. It does not seem to have organs other than a brain and a lacrimal bay where its' tears are stored.

It prefers to be referred as "Pearl". Pearl has a rather positive mindset, but tends to be sad when they are separated from the ones it loves. Pearl tends to be shy in strangers' presence, and in groups. Noone is allowed to be in the subject's company for longer than 5 hours a day. The subject shows signs of separation anxiety if they are separated from the personnel who spent over 5 hours a day in their presence if they are not allowed to follow the personnel everywhere they go.

Pearl does not need to eat or sleep, but in fact enjoys every type of artistic activities. Pearl can be damaged, but otherwise does not show any sign of pain or aggression when being attacked. As a defense mechanism, it compresses itself into a normal-looking pearl, and will not leave this state until it does not feel safe. It is also used as a regeneration method.

SCP-5133 seems to enjoy the company of people with wide vocabulary, who are intellectual and/or artistic people. Some of SCP-5133's favorite hobbies are painting, writing books, reading, and ballet. Pearl seems to learn quickly and is interested in every subject, though prefers arts, as they "change".

Pearl during its' shapeshifting mechanism

Pearl was found at 20██/██/██, 5:18 A.M. GMT+2 in Hungary, at Balaton, near ██████, with SCP-5134, who Pearl called its' mother. Upon inspection, the SCP who Pearl called its' mother is Nacre. Pearl was cooperative when during the capturing process, and the transportation.

Addendum: At 20██/██, 11:58 A.M., SCP-5133 was not provided with enough shells for it to hide, and when Dr.████ and Dr.████████ accessed its' chamber it hid in its' empty bathtub, compressing itself so much it fell through the drain's hole and ended up in the pipes being unable to leave it. From that case, SCP-5133 needs to be told when either over one personnel or a stranger will enter its' pen, and before entering, a person needs to check whether it has enough shells provided for it to hide, and alert them of the upcoming event in order to avoid the discomfort of the SCP and prevent cases like this happening again.
