Item#: XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: An Isolation zone is to be maintained around SCP-XXXX, beyond which only D-class personnel may enter. In order to monitor potential growth of SCP-XXXX's area of effect, D-class personnel should be stationed a short distance outside of SCP-XXXX. Personnel assigned to the containment of SCP-XXXX are to be regularly tested on basic knowledge, such as their own name, in order to identify potential SCP-XXXX-1 instances.

Captured SCP-XXXX-1 instances should be re-purposed into D-class personnel. Foundation personnel affected by the anomaly should be rehabilitated under the Class IV Identity Reconstruction Protocol.

Object Description: SCP-XXXX is an anomalous effect surrounding [Location Redacted] which replaces the memories of its victims with a completely alternate set of memories. This process increases the area of SCP-XXXX's effect by varying degrees and is currently estimated at [Redacted]m. Subjects with particularly traumatic or eventful backgrounds will have a more pronounced effect on the Anomalies size, conversely subjects with memory disorders, brain damage or have been extensively treated with amnestics have a negligible impact on the Anomalies area. Subjects affected by the anomaly are to be designated SCP-XXXX-1 until rehabilitated.

SCP-XXXX-1 are otherwise non-anomalous humans whose memories have been constructed so as to compel the subject to lure victims into SCP-XXXX's influence. Subjects typically recall SCP-XXXX as a charity homeless shelter or church in order to lure homeless or mentally unstable individuals into "counseling centers" or "charity kitchens". SCP-XXXX-1 instances typically have minimal or zero recollections of subjects not pertaining to SCP-XXXX and as such can be distinguished from the general population after a short conversation. Testing indicates that SCP-XXXX does not, or cannot, alter the base personality or general intelligence of its victims.

Following Incident XXXX1 it has been theorised that SCP-XXXX is able to consume memories produced by SCP-XXXX-1 instances currently within its area of effect. This allows SCP-XXXX to expand slowly over time and is currently estimated to force a total evacuation of [Location Redacted] by 20[idk].

Testing has shown that Subjects suffering from anterograde amnesia, notably a disruption of the Medial Temporal Lobe, are largely immune to the effects of SCP-XXXX due to their inability to form declarative memories. Mechanisms to temporarily induce a disruption of the medial temporal lobe are to be utilised to allow for exploration of SCP-XXXX. Subjects undergoing MTL disruption will experience severe short term memory loss and are unable to recall events after a short time period.
