Special Containment Procedures:
All instances of SCP-XXXX-1 found in the wild are to be to be destroyed and replaced with a pair of SCP-XXXX’s. Anyone found to be in stage 1-3 is to given Class-B amnestics and returned to society. Attempts by the Foundation to seize production of SCP-XXXX have proven ineffective.

Description: SCP:XXXX are wireless earbuds released by the company Apple, named AirPods. SCP-XXXX is harmless, but it’s apaptation, SCP-XXXX-1 can be more dangerous. Roughly 0.89% of SCP-XXXXs produced will manifest into SCP-XXXX-1. SCP-XXXX-1 has the same appearance as SCP-XXXX, however it contains a memetic agent activated by inserting SCP-XXXX-1 into your ears. SCP-XXXX-1’s effect happens over an extended period of time and over three stages.

Stage 1:
Stage 1 happens over 3-7 days of using SCP-XXXX-1 on a daily basis. Subjects exhibit feelings of superiority over others who do not own a pair of SCP-XXXXs. Subjects may also share pictures of themselves wearing SCP-XXXX-1 on social media.

Stage 2:
Stage 2 happens over 7-21 days of using SCP-XXXX-1 on a daily basis. Subjects exhibit increased effects of Stage 1. Subjects also attempt to seek out other people who own SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-1 using social media and other methods of communication. The reason why they do this is currently unknown.

Stage 3:
Stage 3 happens over 21-28 days of using SCP-XXXX-1 on a daily basis. Subjects exhibit extreme ignorance and hatred towards anyone who does not own a pair of SCP-XXXXs. The effect ranges from passive aggressive comments to verbal abuse to physical assault. Attempts to remove SCP-XXXX-1 from subjects in Stage 3 has lead to extreme aggression
