Item #: SCP-49XX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-49XX will usually not attempt to retaliate or breach containment of [-—] cells. A tub of water is necessary for the entity to hydrate its body, failure to do so may result in a breach or mass multiplication. It does not need any other sustenance. [Still WIP…]

Description: SCP-49XX takes the form of a Q tip, 182.88 centimeters in height. It is capable of shattering densities over 3.51 g/cm³ (diamond) with its head, which is referred to as its “knob”. The object possesses sets of teeth and vertical white eyes and is capable of speech and English, but does not appear to be one to talk much. Standing nearby the object causes line of sight to dissipate for nearly all D-Class personnel, most D-Class report still being able to see a small distance around them while everything else is black void. Personnel out of boundaries of the testing chamber usually do not notice the void, if not very slightly. Stepping too close to SCP-49XX (about two meters) also causes fainting among D-Class as long as no other sentient being is within 6 meters of the event.

Dry Q tips of seemingly identical appearance to SCP-49XX have been found lying in darker locations of the foundation a few months after SCP-49XX’s containment, presumably originating from the entity itself despite lack of breaches from it’s container thus far. SCP-49XX opened it’s mouth for the first time during testing in late October, 2018 after it was exposed to a D-Class connected to a long line of tormenting youth and vandalizing various religious properties. SCP-49XX’s oral features are those almost identical to the average human: White teeth, red tongue, red lips. The mouth altogether is slightly blurry. This feature, however, has not yet been used for attacking, but rather intimidation, emitting a slow echoing shriek seeming to originate from father away. The sound seems less and less humanoid overtime until it can no longer be heard by human subjects.

Drysticks: Dry and dent-less, clean Q tips 182.88 meters in height appear around dark areas of the facility at unpredictable times, the minimum being 48 hours. These are stored and used for testing, the objects are not animate nor sentient until activated by water of any temperature. Below is a list of drysticks activated.

SCP-49XX-A [Safe]
SCP-49XX-B [Euclid]
SCP-49XX-C [Euclid]
SCP-49XX-D [Safe] [Euclid] [Safe] [Keter] [Safe]

SCP-49XX-Li [Euclid]
SCP-49XX-Xi [Keter]
SCP-49XX-S3 [Keter]

SCP-49XX-A is capable of traveling through or along the surface of any semi-solid or liquid. Object will attack if provoked. Entity is currently dried out and held in a sealed box at site-███, container 2.

SCP-49XX-B has the ability to bend walls and solids further than they should be capable of. Entity is currently dried out and held in a sealed box at site-███, container 2.

SCP-49XX-C is able to explode without damaging its own matter. Studies show that explosions occur from massive heat stored below the bone, the particles of SCP-49XX-C create enough space in between themselves to allow flames to burst out, the particles quickly reunite. Entity is currently dried out and held in a sealed box at site-███, container 2.

SCP-49XX-D is capable of telekinesis, telepathy, and teleportation. Object has not communicated anything understandable or comprehensible by staff, and sometimes will tell stories about trees that are not known to exist. A few weeks after interaction with the anomaly has induced memetic effects in personnel that have heard it's story, the following effects including dyslexia, shortened attention span, talk of similar stories to SCP-49XX-D's trees. Entity is currently dried out and held in a sealed box at site-███, container 2. Class-B amnesics have been

SCP-49XX-Li can levitate at will and walk among any surface. SCP-49XX-Li is the only other entity known to possess a mouth, but in this case, a bill. The bill is a pointed figure broad in width, color is completely white and blurry, red on the inside. SCP-49XX-Li has used this ability to threaten personnel and distort nearby surveillance objects. The bill is not known to be able to do any harm to living subjects or damage terrain, but it is however, capable of interrupting interaction of energy or chemicals and stretch matter of any density as far as it pleases. The object has also been responsible for creating and activating SCP-49XX-Xi. Entity is currently dried out, frozen, and contained in a sealed box at site-███, container 2A suspended in air by chains in a refrigerated room.

SCP-49XX-Xi seems to be able to distort the shape or remove matter of almost anything in its line of sight after giving off a black-colored shock from its knob. 31 personnel have been shocked unconscious, killed, or somehow distorted by the entity. Entity has been burned dry, frozen, and suspended in air by chains in site-███, container 2B, a refrigerated and mechanically locked room.

SCP-49XX-S3 is highly hazardous due to its ability to seemingly teleport from one place to another breaking through all matter in its way unless stopped by temperatures below -300°C. Object was created during a test on January 10 2019, a drystick was dropped into a tub of liquefied sodium chloride rather than plain water, then frozen by -300°C temperature. The subject escaped the capsule of ice by shattering it from the inside but showing no signs of activation other than standing up. After 2 minutes, the object activated. It snapped itself in the center, creating it's first joint. Two more snaps on the center of each half of the bone occurred, resulting in the first drystick to activate with three joints. Subject then tinted blue. 6 seconds later, the subject’s knob expanded on either side, feathers protruding from each expansion, presumably an instinct used to threaten prey. Object then escaped the chamber after a bang sounded, leaving a hole in the wall as well as shattering glass and appearing in front of personnel in the control room, freezing Dr. Ukey solid with a single tap of it's knob. Object was eventually taken down by MTF. Entity is dried out and held at site-███, container 2C.

Foreword: Interviewing SCP-49XX on drysticks and prey.

<Begin Log, 2/7/2019 8:22 PM>

Dr. Sceez: D-6794, in front of you is a paper listing questions to ask SCP-49XX. If the entity begins portraying hostility towards you directly, back out of the room immediately.
D-6794: Ok. Uh… How did you learn our language?

SCP-49XX: Why should I answer?

D-6794: [Pause] Please?
SCP-49XX: Ok, since you said please. I simply used my ability to look through an individual's past and formed a growing vocabulary from the others here. Now I can communicate in your language.

D-6794: Oh, ok. Do you know your origins?
SCP-49XX: …No
D-6794: …Do you know about the drysticks?
SCP-49XX: Ah yes, the drysticks as you call them. I do not create them on purpose, they actually make me quite uncomfortable, personally… but it's fun to see what they turn into.
D-6794: What? But you haven't actually seen them have you?
SCP-49XX: Of course I have. I know about everything about something of my kin.
[Pause]
D-6794: Ok next… how do you make them?
SCP-49XX: White vines start appearing on the walls of my cell, which I presume is sending some form of signals around the building and… spawning drysticks
D-6794: So… are they supposed to be activated?
SCP-49XX: Well… yes and no. I cannot explain any more on it.
D-6794: Ok… are there… wrong ways to activate them?
SCP-49XX: Anything other than water activation is a miserable existence for them.
D-6794: I see… and why do you attack certain people?
SCP-49XX: I see their past and their intentions. I judge whether or not they deserve my forgiveness.
D-6794: And you… bash their heads open?
SCP-49XX: Yes. And they start out with one more chance.
D-6794: Wait, what? They don't die?
SCP-49XX: No. They appear somewhere else in the world, but not too far. They are stripped of everything, except Knowledge of who they are. All that is left is them self. They will see, for a split second, a mental image of their dead body that has been left behind.
D-6794: Yikes… wait, stripped of everything? Doesn't that include… y'know… clothing?
SCP-49XX: Let's not talk about that.
D-6794: Oh… so… you kill any form of evil, but they kind of re-spawn… and then you let them obsess over seeing themselves dead?
SCP-49XX: Perhaps I am being harsh, but yes.
D-6794: Oh… well, that's all the questions…
SCP-49XX: Good speaking with you.
<End Log, 8:27 PM>

Closing Statement: D-6794 was escorted out of the chamber by 2 MTF, SCP-49XX lied down on the ground, supposedly going to sleep.
