Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained within a 16m x 16m x 16m cube constructed with steel walls, with little to no cracks in between the walls. The ceiling to the containment chamber should be constructed with fifteen (15) small turbines to blow away gas or air from SCP-XXXX, to collect Argon and replace it with Oxygen, and to redistribute different types of gases. The containment chamber should be filled with Argon. The containment chamber should have eight (8) small security cameras with the ability to capture in Ultraviolet Rays & Infrared Rays, constructed within the eight (8) vortexes of the containment chamber. The containment chamber should have an air-tight door to prevent any gases from SCP-XXXX to escape, with the door leading into a hallway equipped with turbines to collect, distribute, or store Oxygen or Argon within the hallway. The door leading to the outside of the containment chamber should be reinforced with steel, containing two locks. The only level with granted access is Level-2 and above unless a test involves a D-Class subject.
A total of four (4) level-3 security personnel should be on standby; two (2) standing by the door leading to the actual containment chamber and two (2) standing by the door leading to the outside of the entire containment chamber. All four (4) personnel should be equipped with special biohazard suits with kevlar and metal padding sewn into the suits, wielding one (1) large turbine vacuum used to collect the various gases within the containment chamber of the vacuum, which should have an Argon atmosphere.
Researchers or subjects entering the containment chamber fully are required to wear air-tight biohazard suits with an Oxygen tank and an Argon tank and full-face mask. The biohazard suit should have a 1in x 1in x 1in square hole with a velcro patch giving SCP-XXXX access to a subject involved in a test. This small section should be immediately closed, filled with Argon gas from a separate Argon gas tank connected to the suit to nullify any and all remaining effects of SCP-XXXX, and the subject, once exposed to SCP-XXXX, should enter the hallway, filled with Argon. Two (2) level-3 security personnel should activate the vacuums in order to draw out any remnants of SCP-XXXX's gases out from the suits, the subject then shedding said suit and finally being escorted out, concluding any tests. The discarded suit should then be burned. Any gases suctioned by the level-3 security personnel's vacuums should be blown back into the containment chamber, as SCP-XXXX has shown weakness when losing even minuscule amounts of its many gases.
SCP-XXXX should be under surveillance 24/7 and its actions should be recorded every ten (10) minutes by personnel tasked to observe SCP-XXXX.
If any other type of gas is to compose an atmosphere in both the hallway leading to the containment chamber and the containment chamber itself is to be suggested besides Argon, the preferred gas is to be a gas similar to that of Argon, due to the fact that Argon's abilities to nullify or undergo little to no chemical reactions can severely limit SCP-XXXX's abilities, movement, cognitive function, and lethality; however, it also increases the SCP's hostility.

Description: SCP-XXXX seems to have no distinguishable age. The SCP appears to be a charred corpse made out of a gas unknown to modern-day science. The SCP is often described as "fuzzy", but scientifically, researchers have suggested the SCP's outer boundaries are indefinite and blurry. The SCP has no specific bodily features; it, in a general sense, is a gas-like entity that is roughly 1.88 meters tall and of an indistinguishable width. The SCP can change itself according to its needs, such as thinning out into a much more gas-like form to avoid hostility or to gain advantage.
The SCP holsters a variety of abilities, none of which seem intentionally harmful but if used incorrectly, can achieve a level of hostility. The SCP's powers consist of utilizing its gas state, as the SCP can seemingly lengthen his body by protruding gas towards an object of significance. For example, the SCP is able to protrude gas to retrieve a barrier to defend itself if needed. This instance has happened during the capture of the SCP. The SCP can use its protruding gas ability to harness other types of gas, such as noble gases, but seems to prefer not to unless in a state of danger. The SCP, after all of these abilities, seems genuinely harmless and cooperative, as researchers have theorized that the SCP is passive and wishes not to harm unless provoked.
When provoked, however, the SCP will first try to peacefully defend itself. If its peaceful approach does not help and is in need of assistance or is required to become hostile, the SCP will begin to protrude pillars of gas that seem to be slightly metallic, as when the pillars grow, slivers of metal seem to shine. The amount of protruding pillars seem to differ depending on the danger; when the SCP was exposed to [REDACTED], it hit its highest amount of pillars recorded, at twenty-three (23). The minimum of pillars, whether the foe being powerful or not, will always be two (2) long and strengthy ones. The SCP will then use the gas pillars to stab, jab, slash, or cut, proving that these gas pillars have extremely sharpened points of metal that are used to defend or attack. These metal pieces have no explanation as to where they originate, but researchers have suggested that the metal seems to be drawn from nearby objects or sought out and brought to the SCP from wherever possible. This theory has been proven, as a careful study of the SCP fighting has allowed researchers to see extremely thin gas lines penetrate the containment cell, effectively drawing out some metals. The SCP's defense seems to have an immense success rate, and if even this defense fails, the SCP is then thinned down to an extremely small sheet of gas (approx. ~75,000nm), only to rejuvenate after a span of 25-40 hours (depending on the severity of the attack). If the SCP is weakened to such an extent that its normal "healing process" is not able to perform its task well, the SCP will then fall into what is best described as comatose. It is unknown as to what would happen after the comatose; there has only be one instance in which comatose was induced upon SCP-XXXX (see Incident 1).
As an overall summary of the SCP, the SCP seems to be very passive and very rarely hostile. It is similar to that of a pacifist, only seeking anger and hostility when necessary. The SCP has also on some occasions shown the ability to speak, as if the SCP wants to engage in social activity. From this, some of the main researchers assigned to SCP-XXXX has concluded that the SCP had originated as a human and, somehow, in its past, it became the SCP it is today. To compare the SCP's general cognitive function to a human, it is most comparable to that of a wise elder.
The SCP, however, should not be underestimated. The SCP has explicitly said in recordings (see Record 1.1, 1.2) that he is capable of high intelligence, and more recordings prove such cognitive function. The motives of SCP-XXXX is unclear; however, many snippets and full recordings have helped to uncover the full motives of SCP-XXXX. All of the 10 researchers that have been assigned to SCP-XXXX have filed requests for more tests and recording with SCP-XXXX due to the motives being uncovered slowly, but they require high security. The approval or denial of such requests are still pending.

Addendum 1: 6 out of 10 requests to interview, record, or test SCP-XXXX have been denied. The remaining four are still being determined.
