SCP-XXXX

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: Due to SCP-XXXX’s unpredictable changes in temperature, it must be contained within a chamber whose walls consist of tungsten in a honeycomb design, to optimise its stability, with its holes filled with bismuth, to repel SCP-XXXX should it exploit its texture manipulation abilities to move from its Gold lined tungsten pedestal. The outside of its walls consist of many vertical ,“pins” designed to increase surface area and regulate temperature. The entire structure is located within a vertical wind tunnel, measuring 5x5 metres. When SCP-XXXX manages to crack or severely damage ijt's containment cell's framework or inner lining, it is to be replaced while SCP-XXXX is temporarily kept in a tungsten box until the cell is completely reconstructed.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a small, cylindrical object measuring 10cm in diameter by 1cm height. Though it mostly maintains its temperature within -30C and 50C, it is able to reach extreme temperatures ranging from -240C to [REDACTED], making it capable of melting the gold lining of its pedestal and/or splitting the tungsten framework by fluctuating its own temperature to the extremes.
At least 3(three) instances of the required components for the containment cell must be kept in [REDACTED] at all times.

It has been noted that when any organism observes SCP-XXXX directly, it vigorously change texture and colour, possibly in an attempt to discourage the organism from interacting with SCP-XXXX. However, these effects do not occur upon being viewed via photos or video surveillance, unlike SCP-096. The Containment room is only to be accessed by Level 3 personnel or higher, and can only be handled by D-Class personnel. Upon being interviewed, employees have noted that SCP-XXXX has no obvious pattern by which it changes and seems to do so at random. Upon SCP-XXXX changing texture, objects are noted to protrude from SCP-XXXX’s “default” shape, such as tentacles, fur etc.

All attempts at interviews have failed, as SCP-XXXX has proven to not have an orifice with which it can communicate, nor can it use it's colour, temperature or texture to communicate, as there is no change in activity during and after a question is being asked.
