Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a locked iron box at Site-15. O2 clerance is required to participate in testing of SCP-XXXX. Recreational or communication usage of SCP-XXXX is prohibited under any circumstance.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a Sharp J-SH04 J-Phone. Its physical composition is identical to a standard model J-SH04. However, any photograph captured with SCP-XXXX's camera function will display an alternate instance of the photographed image, reflecting a reality in which a global collapse of technological and socioeconomic systems has reduced the human population by 95%.
SCP-XXXX was recovered on December 31, 2000 from the home of Dr. Hideo Nakamura, a recently deceased computer scientist from Tokyo, Japan. Correspondences recovered from Dr. Nakamura show an awareness and increasing fixation on SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties in the weeks leading up to his death.
Repeated testing of SCP-XXXX's image capture function, observed at the same locations over a period of 18 years, has shown buildings, objects and biological organisms in the images captured by SCP-XXXX to decompose at a rate consistent with the passage of time outside the image.
