Despite SCP-5540 being best described in summary as an opportunistic predictor SCP-5540 is indeed sentient has displayed a high level of intelligence as well as self awareness however its mannerisms are far from human in part due to the unfeeling nature of its speech. Discovery: SCP-5540 was first encountered when deep construction of the lower levels of site 11 was being performed back in ████ by a group of civilian and foundation personnel. Of the ██ people on staff that day 24 civilians were consumed by SCP-5540 and an additional 3 foundation supervisors, as SCP-5540 flowed into the newly formed hallway and down a connecting elevator shaft only stopping its decent upon reaching its current place of containment. Among the casualties were staff members █████████, █████████ and doctor ███████████. In addition when in motion SCP-5540 was notably more deadly during this initial event simply being engulfed by SCP-5540 appeared to be enough to be consumed by the entity.
