Item #: Code name: NISC

Object Class: Thaumiel

Site and Personnel Requirements: Following incident #08, personnel must be psychologically screened, with resulting score only of 80 and above, towards the reaction of sound. Staff Personnel on site must always wear sound cancelling gear due high exposure of high frequency around a radius of 20 Metres. A mandatory rotation of personal each week is required due to the levels of exposure, those who resist to leave will be permanently removed from future work with NISC and other site assets.

Description: NISC consists of a mist like orb, levitating 3 feet off from the ground. Around are 4 'belts' which, while stable, have no effect to the human body. Although contact with the central orb results in spontaneous death, no burning or bodily damage was shown following a D-class lobotomy. Following early experimentation, it was found that a steady high current of electric energy is produced at the orbs neutral state. From the large energy readings which when controlled can generate that of averaging around 47kWh. Site director ████████ has determined utilising NISC towards helping power facility site numbers ██, ███ and ███.

NISC is located inside a spherical lead panelled room, suspended from the floor in a spherical area. Electromagnetic coils are present at all time to alter the irregular field presented off by NISC. If the field grows too large, a 'glowing' symbol will begin to appear below the orb, if so the coils will need to be altered to discharge. If immediate action is not taken to neutralise the energy built up, a huge power failure can occur, see instant #047.

When certain conditions are held, anything which enters the rings will appear to stop in motion yet extremely minuet movement can be captured. Use of this phenomenon has been seen to work on both D-class and SCP. Future investigation is under way although all current experiments have proven successful to hold entities, which has caught attention of the foundations board. Although the side effects on both SCP and D-class are not known due to the nature of Nisc, prolonged exposure results in a varied level of symptoms. Symptoms have been found to worsen when NISC is less stable as shown in Document #107.

In instances of D-class under heavy exposure of many see a figure, tall yet not solid, like a mist. All D-class after 2 weeks of prolonged exposure were terminated due to violent tendency over 'longing' towards this figure.

Special Containment Procedures:

At least one of the airlock doors to the containment must closed at all time. Failure of the doors after 2 seconds, the sector will be put in lock down and access shut to all personnel lower than level 4 clearance.

Due to the irregular pattern of magnetic discharge, all electrical equipment is required to be located away from the initial surroundings around the containment. Cameras monitoring the containment must not display a direct image towards NISC. A set of four monitors are currently used to display the containment rooms image with each directed towards all corners creating a parrallax effect of the whole image.

During Procedure 112 of observing NISC, all personal assigned must maintain an restricted distance of 4 metres when inside the containment. The area between the Containment and the foundation are required to stay clear, those entering the restricted zone are incline for immediate removal. If any symptoms of personnel in the containment while Procedure 112 is active, immediate evacuation back to the foundation side is recommended. If any personal are under the symptoms to that of resisting to leave containment, immediate force is issued.

Document Reports

Document #107 - Prolonged Exposure

NOTE: All conducted with D-class with out safety equipment in use. Located directly next to NISC at a stable condition.
Current known symptom levels:
Level 1: 2 days - Humming in ears
Level 2: 4 days - Ringing in ears of a high frequency
Level 3: 6 days - voices and echos of thoughts,
Level 4: 1 weeks - Sight towards NISC changes to a mist like 'figure' and facial sweating
Level 5: 1 weeks 3 days - Subjects show slower motion in tasks and a 'static' appearance
Level 6: 2 weeks - Subjects show signs of 'longing' towards NISC in fits of constant anger
Level Z: In an incident of #███ Subject D-████ was undergoing prolonged exposure, when NISC began to grow unstable. "The electromagnetic seemed to act slow as did everything else" a comment of a previous researcher. From the previous location of Subject D-████, scream like sounds could be heard yet footage saw black. In later instances, personnel found fragments of black flesh like ice crystals protruding around the containment yet no sign of the subject was found. 3 weeks 5 days later, a rib bone was found on the cat walk surrounding NISC's containment. The cause is thought to be a 'leak' of the containment.

Incident #008 - Personnel Incident

Date: ██/██/████ Time: 1534 hours
-
Location: Site-██ Report by: ████ █████
-
Description: Researcher ███████ ████, was found to display strange behaviour 8 hours before incident. Those on site commented 'Facial Sweating' and 'slower movement'. 2 hours before incident the researcher was seen acting weird to tasks and was watching the monitors for abnormal lengths of time. This worsened till the researcher started to act violently towards personnel where he attempted to move closer to containment although designated guards disposed of him shortly after. It was found later that ███████ had overstayed two weeks of observance rather than the normal one.

Incident #047 - Malfunction ?

Date: ██/██/████ Time: 0805 hours
-
Location: Site-██ Report by: David █████
-
Description: At 0805 hours on ██-██-████ a power outage occurred when the electric equipment for that of controlling the Electromagnets failed, in this time NISC gave a small burst of energy frying half of the equipment and interfering with the upper floor electronic, namely the coffee machine plus a few computers i hope the people up there saved there work. luckily nothing to do with SCP-0██, we are not sure what the caused was but i have a weird idea it might be something inside the facility but that doesn't make much sense since NISC is not very known even if it does power most of the facility. Some of the other personnel think i might of done something but i insured them i haven't made a fuck up that big. We still are running tests and reducing the output for a few weeks.
