Item #: SCP-??? "The Alabaster Swarm"

Object Class: Euclid

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-???-H is to be kept upon a Limestone podium. The podium is centered in the floor of a circular chamber with a radius of 12.5 Meters. The chamber is optimized for the growing and nourishment of wheat or barley, with the floor being replaced with highly nutritious soil 0.8 meters deep.

Immediately following a release event, 4 to 6 D-Class Personnel enter the chambers to refill the soil in the chamber. 2 automated drones are sent in directly following this; The first planting the optimal number of seeds for a maximum harvest, with the second drone hydrating the seeds with a chemical growth stimulant. Failure of the harvest to germinate or grow on schedule by the 10 day mark will result in the removal of the defected material and replacement with a backup harvest grown simultaneously with the initial.

SCP-???-H is to be monitored at all times by at least 3 C-Class Personnel in the case of an unexpected release event. Upon signs of a release event, all ventilation is to be sealed immediately. In the case of a blackout during a release event, emergency hydraulic covers are to be activated via the 3 levers in the observation room.
SCP-???-A, SCP-???-B, SCP-???-C, SCP-???-D, and SCP-???-F are to be kept in a secure closet in the observation quarters, and may only be opened if B-Class or higher personnel give permission.

Description: SCP-??? is a collection of urns with a composition of sandstone and granite. All of the urns seem to have been formed at the same time, in approximately 2000 BCE. Each has an inscription with a subsequent roman numeral, allocated to each individual urn, however the roman numerals seem to have been overlaid upon older and yet unidentified symbols. The inscription is the same for all of the urns, "הזעם שלו".

SCP-???-A, SCP-???-B, SCP-???-C, SCP-???-D, and SCP-???-F and SCP-???-H are not anomalous, yet are theorized to have once been, with varying effects unique to each urn.

SCP-???-H is the last of 6 8th of a theoretical 10 urns of this kind. SCP-???-H has the same Hebrew inscription as the rest of the urns, and has a roman numeral VIII etched on it. When a release event begins, The top of SCP-???-H levitates upward 0.5 meters from its initial position and remains there until the conclusion of the release event. Upon the unsealing of the urn, innumerable locust-like creatures, identified as SCP-???-H-1, burst out from the opening and immediately rush to any biomass in the area and blanket all available surfaces.

Instances of SCP-???-H-1 are similar to African Migratory Locusts, the difference being the larger size, the stark-white coloring, and the lack of sensory organs. Instances of SCP-???-H-1 seem to hold a collective and intuitive intelligence; they tend to fly in a tighter swarm then typical African Migratory Locusts, and two instances of SCP-???-H-1 will not go after the same target.

If no limitations occur, the swarm will "eat" crops or agricultural products and cover everything in a 5km area unrestrained. The swarm does not appear to have a limit for how much biomass it can intake in the selected area, yet it does have an apparent minimum requirement to consume. If limitations occur, such as barriers or not enough biomass, the swarm will go inert the swarm will spontaneously appear beyond the barriers and intake the necessary biomass. The swarm will prioritize crops or harvests, yet if these are not available, the swarm will settle for other instances of biomass. Upon the end of the 96 hours, any instances of SCP-???-H-1 that consumed biomass will return to SCP-???-H and the lid will close. Any instances of SCP-???-H-1 that covered surfaces will immediately "die" and become inert. The instances will decompose into a fine white powder within 24 hours; the powder has very potent characteristics that will cause the surfaces to lose any potential of growing biological substance for an unforeseeable amount of time.

Discovery: In response to unexplainable complaints in the North-Western provinces of Africa, Foundation Personnel explored and investigated the area. A sculpted cave of limestone held an elevated rectangular prism of marble. Shattered instances of SCP-???-A, SCP-???-B, SCP-???-C, SCP-???-D, and SCP-???-F are discovered on and around the marble structure, SCP-???-H was discovered underneath the pieces. Indents on the marble structure indicate there were 10 urns at one point, however there are no additional pieces beyond those discovered.

Footnote: 1. הזעם שלו is Hebrew for "His Fury".
I plan on adding addendums, but wanted to make sure the idea wasn't flawed first
