Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe or Keter (Depending on the presence of SCP-XXXX-B)

Special Containment Procedures: All electronic devices that have interacted with SCP-XXXX or SCP-XXXX-A must be stored in Sector ██ and have their visual interfaces (if present) physically detached from their electrical circuits. All other functions may be kept as normal. As of ██/██/2020, all audio interfaces must also be put under same treatment.

Instances of SCP-XXXX-B in Stage I must be prevented from having access to tools or mechanical supplies of any sort; those in Stage II must be prevented from coming into contact with any electronic device.

Any knowledge on the functioning of SCP-XXXX must be seized and kept secret to all personnel under Level 4; any unauthorized persons claiming to have such knowledge must be terminated.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a source code of a programming language1 . Although its size appears to be around 3 Gb, it has been oberved being installed in devices with less available memory. The properties and commands used to operated it are unknown. Its terminal displays no text, and all attempts to input commands have lead no measurable effects2. Attempts to tamper with the code itself have been unsuccessful, as it is heavily encrypted.

History: It was first found inside a 16 Gb USB drive conected to a computer in an apartment in [REDACTED], State of Goiás, Brazil. The agents that had recovered it were unable to identify its previous owner, who was found dead due to severe blood loss from the amputation of his left arm. Along with SCP-XXXX, the drive contained SCP-XXXX-A.

SCP-XXXX-A is the only known program to have been written using SCP-XXXX. It is titled "program.cq", with size appearing to be 20 Mb, but having the same property as SCP-XXXX. When a drive is containing it is connected to a computer, the program will begin to install itself and SCP-XXXX, bypassing all attempts to prevent it from doing so, effectively "infecting" it. However, there were no observed instances of it "contaminating" via wireless means. Once installed, SCP-XXXX-A will enter an almost inactive state, in which the only behavior exhibited is the file changing its directory. During this time it is possible to find the file and attempt to tamper with it. Although, there is a chance that it will become active again3 and begin to quietly display cognitohazardous images.

Human subjects that view the images displayed by SCP-XXXX-A become instances of SCP-XXXX-B4 in Stage I and immediately begin to feel a strong compulsion to gradually replace all of their body with robotic organs they have constructed. Even subjects with no prior knowledge of robotics are able to build intricate robotic appendages. How this happens is unknown.

SCP-XXXX-B in Stage I follow a sequence of replacement that begins with the limbs, followed by the internal organs, and ending with the head, after which they enter Stage II.
