Description: Coming Soon
Addendum 5056.1: Discovery
The procedures found in this interview are out of date. Do not under any circumstances follow the procedures used by Dr. █████ and his colleagues.
Interviewed: Subject 5056-01
Interviewer: Dr. █████
Forward: Subject 5056-01 is detained and handcuffed to the chair he is sitting in which is bolted to the ground. Dr. █████ is sitting roughly 3 yards away wearing Level D PPE and gloves. Dr. █████ holds a small hand-held recorder to record the interview.

Interviewer: Would you please state your name for the record.
Subject 5056-01: (struggling) Ssss…Ssss..
Interviewer: Sir, would you please state your name for the record.
Subject 5056-01: (still in a struggle) Sssseeeee…ssss (Subject 5056-01 pants and wheezes)
Interviewer: Sir? Sir?! Sir, are you okay? Sir! (panting stops) Sir, I need your name.
[no response from Subject 5056-01]
Interviewer: Subject 505… (Subject 5056-01 screams, stops, a beat) Subject 5056-0… (Subject 5056-01 screams again, louder, stops, a beat) Sir… Sir, how did you come to be in this condition?
Subject 5056-01: (struggling once again) Ssssseeeeeee…sssssssss (stops)
Interviewer: (directly into the recording device, whispering) Subject occasionally murmurs gibberish under his breath, he sounds frustrated… (no longer directly into the device, slowed and over-enunciated) Sir, can you understand me?
Subject 5056-01: (louder, almost yelling) Sssssseeeeeeeeeee…SSSSSSSSSSSSSS (Subject 5056-01 stops abruptly, pants)
Interviewer: Cease? (Subject 5056-01 continues panting and wheezing, only worse) Sir? Sir! Sir, speak to me! Can you breathe? (the sound of the chair moving and the recorder hitting the ground is heard, followed by metal banging) Hey! Can I get some help in here?!
[the recording then becomes staticky and choppy as Dr. █████ continues to yell for help, underneath his screams are sounds that can only be explained as the breaking of small bones and tendons and then two distinct screams, one scream can be described as that of someone in agony along with strange chanting, another is someone in distress or fear mixed with cries for help, the recording abruptly goes silent yet still staticky before stopping]

Closing Statement: Following the instances recorded on Dr. █████’s recording device, additional scientists enter the room in which Subject 5056-01 was contained. The following is taken from one scientist’s field notes:
“Subject 5056-01 was found with his face down in his lap, still detained and handcuffed to the chair. Subject 5056-01 was dead when we got to him. We never heard the screams recorded on Dr. █████’s device. The whereabouts of Dr. █████ are still undetermined.”
Approximately 12 hours following the time recorded on these field notes, Dr. █████’s body was found, brain partially removed. The scientist who had written the field notes was found not far away, dazed and confused. This scientist had been detained out of fear of being a victim to what is now referred to as SCP-5056.
Addendum 5056.2: Exploration of Subject 5056-03
Subject 5056-03 is isolated and contained out of fear of spreading his condition to others inside the facility. Any communication with Subject 5056-03 is done through written letters or intercom. Subject 5056-03 is given a notebook and encouraged to write in it daily.

They told me to write in this book, to write about how I'm feeling. To be honest, I don't know how I'm feeling. If anything, I'm not feeling. It's as if I've lost the ability to feel. Who are these people behind the glass and why have they instructed me write. Writing. It seems like such a simple task. I could write whatever I want, they probably wouldn't care. But I feel like I'm fighting to make my hand move in a way that is required to make the correct characters on the page. I wish I knew

Following entry 5056-01-a, scientists report having to intervene and detain Subject 5056-03 as he became extremely violent and harmful to himself and others.
Entry 5056-03-b: Report from a scientist on staff
<Begin Log>
Subject 5056-03 had already done a great deal of damage to his head by the time we intervened. Blood was dripping from a large gash on his right temple. If this gash were to be roughly an inch more forward on his face, Subject 5056-03 likely would've lost sight in his right eye. Subject 5056-03 received 9 stitches to close up the gash and the dressings are changed regularly. However, the bleeding doesn't seem to cease. Dr. ███ drew blood from Subject 5056-03 and lab results should be viewable tomorrow.
<End Log>
A day later, the same scientist reported on the results of Subject 5056-03's bloodwork.
Entry 5056-03-c: Subject 5056-03 bloodwork findings
<Begin Log>
The results of Subject 5056-03's blood work show numerous blood conditions including, but not limited to, Anemia and Hemophilia. The Hemophilia is likely the cause for Subject 5056-03's clotting difficulties yesterday. Dr. ███ had also checked Subjet 5056-03's antibodies. This resulted in the discovery of the toxoplasma gondii parasite in Subject 5056-03's system.
<End Log>
Subject 5056-03's medical record shows no past history of blood disorders, including family history. Subject 5056-03 takes one prescription, Desloratadine, to treat his allergy symptoms. Subject 5056-03 also carries an Epi-Pen for his severe allergy to cats.
Following the event described in Entry 5056-03-b, the following notice was posted at every checkpoint leading to Subject 5056-03's containment cell:
Entry 5056-03-d: Notice
CAUTION
Potential biohazard ahead. Any personal entering this area must wear Level B or higher PPE and all items entering this zone must be thoroughly sanitized before being introduced.

Entry 5056-03-f: Interview with Subject 5056-03
Interviewed: Subject 5056-03 (The former Dr. █████)
Interviewer: Dr. William Paterson, Psychology
Forward: Dr. Paterson wore level A PPE while interviewing Subject 5056-03. Subject 5056-03 was detained for Dr. Paterson's safety. Dr. Paterson was instructed to never stand closer than 3 yards away from Subject 5056-03.
<Begin Log>
Dr. Paterson: Dr. █████, how are you feeling?Subject 5056-03: I'm sorry, is my vision failing me? I see no one else in the room.
Dr. Paterson: You would be correct, there is no one else in this room. I seem to have mistaken you for someone else, what is your name sir?
Subject 5056-03: Name? I wouldn't happen to recall having a name. Does this mean I can name myself? If that is the case… hmmm… (excited) Gosh! I never thought…
Dr. Paterson: (cutting him off) Sir, you must have a name. What do the people here call you?
Subject 5056-03: They don't call me anything. In fact, I don't think they've ever even spoken to me. Can my name be Mark ███████?
Dr. Paterson: Yes, I will call you Mark ███████ from now on. Mark ███████, how are you feeling?
[For all future instances, Subject 5056-03 will now be listed as "Mark ███████"]
Mark ███████: Great! These people feed me and make sure I'm in good health, I don't know what else I could ask for! How are you Dr. Paterson?
Dr. Paterson: Very well then… I'm doing well… but this interview is about you. Mark ███████, do you remember what happened on the night of █████ ███? The night Dr. █████ was attacked.
Mark ███████: Oh no! Someone was attacked? Is he okay? I didn't do this, did I? I seem to be getting in a lot of trouble…
Dr. Paterson: Sir, you wrote about the incident (shows Mark ███████ an image of his field notes).
Mark ███████: I'm sorry, you must be very confused indeed! That's not me. See, I'm Mark ███████ and I was only given that name today. This seems to be written by a Dr. █████ and I am certainly no doctor.
Dr. Paterson: Sir, have you ever experienced an episode of lost time? Or, maybe you feel as if the body you're in is not your own?
Mark ███████: Hmm… Let me think… Gosh! I don't seem to be able to recall anything prior to the date marked on that piece of paper there (referring to field notes). As for the whole, body-not-feeling-like-my-own nonsense… No, this is my body, I'm sure of that much. (joyfully, as if showing off) I mean just look at me!
Dr. Paterson: (slight chuckle) Very well, Mark ███████, I think that'll be all I have for you today. Take care, will you?
Mark ███████: Righty-o! I'll be right here if you ever want to talk again!

SEX: M
Dr. Scott ████FINAL DIAGNOSIS:
I. Sudden Cardiac ArrestII. Respiratory Failure
III. Lack of Encephalon
IV. Abrasions on the right temple
TOXICOLOGIC STUDIES
Blood Ethanol - Not detectedBlood Drug Screen - No drugs detected
CLINICOPATHOLOGIC CORRELATION
Cause of death of this thirty-seven-year-old male is a complete lack of the encephalon. The body of this thirty-seven-year-old male was first seen by me after I was called into the containment cell in which the decedent was being detained. I arrived approximately ██pm and entered the secure containment cell where the decedent's body was located. I viewed the body from across the room but was informed that I must be wearing a higher level PPE before I could begin my examination. I quickly left to put on level B PPE and returned to the room to begin my examination. The decedent was sitting in a metal chair that is bolted to the ground in the middle of the containment cell. The decedent's hands were handcuffed to the back of the chair and his head was facing down. A quick examination of the body revealed faint residue of a viscous brown-red substance that was swabbed and sent to the lab for further examination. The decedent also had several abrasions to his right temple along, all of which were infected. The unknown substance was found running down the decedent's body and leading out the room before trailing off.
EXTERNAL EXAM
Deceased is clothed in a stained white t-shirt, full-length khakis, and old Adidas running shoes. All articles of clothing are covered in dirt as well as the unknown substance described above. The t-shirt is stretched and there are several tears along the bottom hem and neckline of the t-shirt. There are two rips in the khakis, one at each knee. The rip at the right knee measures roughly 4 x 2 inches and the rip at the left knee measures roughly 1 x 1 inch. Both rips in the khakis expose the decedent's skin, which is also covered in dirt.EXTERNAL EVIDENCE OF INJURY
Roughly 1 inch away from the right eye, there are four distinct abrasions on the right temple. Each abrasion is bruised, swelled, and slightly infected. Dried blood surrounds the area. This blood was taken to the lab for testing.REMAINDER OF EXTERNAL EXAMINATION
The un-embalmed, well developed but mal-nourished Caucasian male body measures 71 inches in length and weighs an estimated 124 pounds. The scalp is covered by short and thin dirty-blonde hair which is unkempt and dirty. The external auditory canals are patent and free of blood. The eyes are brown and the pupils are dilated. The sclera is red-lined with the right eye significantly blood-shot. The nostrils contain residue amount of the unknown viscous brown-red substance. The teeth are in poor repair display a significant amount of decay. The tongue is smooth, granular, and covered with the unknown substance. No buccal mucosal trauma is seen. The frenulum is intact. The neck contains no palpable adenopathy or masses and the trachea and larynx are midline. The chest is symmetrical. The abdomen is flat and contains no scars. No palpable organomegaly or masses are identified. The examination of the extremities is unremarkable. The fingernails of both hands are yellowed and bitten short. The examination of the back is unremarkable.INTERNAL EXAMINATION
The anterior chest musculature is well developed. No sternal or rib fractures are identified.

The following day, lab results were reviewed by multiple scientists working at the facility and the following statement was added.
Article 5056.3.2: Lab Results
Reviewers: Dr. William Paterson, Dr. Scott ████, and Dr. Peter ████████
Final Statement: The lab results of the blood found on Subject 5056-01's right temple is identified as that of Subject 5056-01. The results of Subject 5056-01's blood work show numerous blood conditions including, but not limited to, Anemia and Hemophilia. All other levels within the blood are normal. The lab results of the unknown viscous substance shows that it is composed primarily of the following:
Na
K
Ca
Mg
Cl
HCO3
Lactate
PO4
Protein
Glucose
Small amounts of blood were also found in the unknown substance. This blood was tested and seems to be a mixture of multiple different blood types.
The findings outlined in Articles 5056.3.1 5056.3.2 were then used to identify the cause of death in Subject 5056-02, who was found with his brain partially removed and the substance trailing out of his eyes, mouth, and nose.
Article 5056.3.3: Statement on Subject 5056-02
Subject 5056-02 was found in the hallway, facedown on the floor. Autopsy results report similar instances to that found in Subject 5056-01's autopsy report. Subject 5056-02's cause of death was mass organ failure after his brain ceased to function properly to keep these organs stable. The same unknown viscous brown-red substance was found on Subject 5056-02 as well as leading down the hallway to where Subject 5056-03 was found before being detained. Subject 5056-03 should be permanently detained and surveilled at all times as there is significant evidence that he contains the substance that is now referred to as SCP-5056.
Addendum 5056.4: Containment Attempt 1
Mark ███████'s condition escalated quickly after the events outlined in Addendum 5056.3. One final attempt at communicating with Mark ███████ was made before containment of SCP-5056 was attempted.
Interviewed: Mark ███████
Interviewer: Dr. Peter ████████
Date: 04/23/19██Forward: Mark ███████ sits in a metal chair that is bolted to the floor in the middle of the containment cell. Because of the docile nature of Mark ███████, it is decided to leave him undetained. Dr. Peter ████████ sits in a chair by the entrance to the containment cell wearing level A PPE.
<Begin Log>
Dr. Peter ████████: Mark, how are you feeling today?
[Mark ███████ stares blankly at Dr. Peter ████████]
Dr. Peter ████████: Mark, can you hear me?
Mark ███████: (after a beat) sssSSsssseeeeeee…
Dr. Peter ████████: Mark, we have made the decision to end this later today, is there anything you would like to say?
Mark ███████: CEEEEEEEASEEEE…
Dr. Peter ████████: Cease? Cease what? Mark, is there a reason we should not try to remove this parasite from your body?
Mark ███████: CEASE… CEASE… CEASEEEEEEEEEEEEE…
Dr. Peter ████████: Sir, if you wish for us to cease, you need to give us a reason.
[Mark ███████ pants and groans. He slowly rises out of his chair and slowly walks over to where Dr. Peter ████████ is seated, draging his feet across the floor. Dr. Peter ████████ jumps out of his seat quickly and begins banging on the door]
Dr. Peter ████████: Alright! We're done in here! Please, let me out! Hello!
[The door opens to let Dr. Peter out of the containment. 2 guards are on the other side and fire a total of 4 shots into Mark ███████'s chest, killing him. SCP-5056 releases from Mark ███████ and is quickly contained in a gallon glass mason jar by Dr. Peter ████████ and Dr. Scott ████.]
The glass mason jar is left in the chair that is bolted to the ground in the middle of the containment cell.
Addendum 5056.5: Containment Test 2
SCP-5056 is able to escape the mason jar and manages to squeeze out of a small crack underneath the door of its containment cell. SCP-5056 is then recontained, this time in an air-tight cylindrical container made of ██████.
Addendum 5056.6: D-5056-01
For testing purposes, Subject D-5056-01 is put into the containment cell of SCP-5056 and SCP-5056 is released. D-5056-01 is infected with SCP-5056 and passes out almost immediately. Interviews were attempted with D-5056-01 but it seems as if SCP-5056 absorbed D-5056-01's brain quickly and all that is said by D-5056-01 is "cease" over and over. D-5056-01 is locked in the containment cell of SCP-5056 and the cylindrical container is left in the middle of the room on a table, opened. A few days later, scientists enter SCP-5056's containment to do their daily testing and D-5056-01 is found dead on the floor with SCP-5056 in a corner. To lure SCP-5056 into the cylindrical container, the scientists put a whole pig brain in the container. SCP-5056 enters the container to absorb the brain and the lid is closed.
Tests on D-5056-01
An autopsy report of D-5056-01 is done and findings are similar to that found in Subject 5056-01's autopsy. The main difference is that dust particles and various mild bacteria are found in both D-5056-01's system and in the residue left behind by SCP-5056. All future containment attempts are then done by fully sterilizing SCP-5056's containment cylindar before placing the pig brain in the container.
Addendum 5056.7: Final Containment
Report on Final Containment
After several failed attempts to isolate a small portion of SCP-5056 without the entire entity escaping from its containment cylindar, it is discovered that wax seems to be a weakness. Beeswax is most commonly used to line the cylindral container to prevent SCP-5056 from escaping too quickly. This also makes it much easier to isolate a small amount of SCP-5056 for testing. While other waxes were not tested, waxes that are toxic to the human body are to never be used out of fear of SCP-5056 using it to weaken its victims before full consumption of their brain.
