Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-4495 is generally kept in a small camera case, that the foundation found
for the sake of keeping SCP 4495 in good condition. Lens is to be cleaned
once a month but otherwise, dust accumulation is slow, no matter the
environment.
Description: SCP-4495 is a Canon E60D Camera that can serve multiple purposes
and possesses multiple anomalous properties, one of which the ability to travel
in time. One subject was found to have viewed the previously taken photographs
and de-manifested. travelling back to the time the picture was taken, replacing
whoever was taking the photo at the time. When this happens, the subject feels
a sense of nausea and becomes disoriented as they are trapped in another person's
body. Should the person attempt to interact with their previous selves from that
time period, they will die immediately. It is unknown if death is caused instantly
from viewing themselves in their new bodies or whether they are able to interact
with themselves before death. Research is on-going.
Attempts to recreate this have proven unsuccessful. The shutter is currently
disabled and any attempts to take more photographs are unsuccessful.
DR. [REDACTED], The Head Researcher for SCP 4495, experimented in making an
attempt to view all the photographs on the Camera, and estimated there are
over 700, unusual considering this proceeds the storage limit for the device.
Effects from viewing previously taken photographs can vary greatly, including
-Happiness
Subjects D-39[REDACTED] and D-49[REDACTED] reported viewing the photographs
as very pleasant, and continued to be happy in nature for the rest of the
day.
-Depression
Subject D-2956 reported feeling empty where as he was otherwise very optimistic,
and continued feeling this way for 2 days.
-Energized
DR [REDACTED], Head Researcher for SCP-4495, took it upon himself to be
experimented on, and found he felt energized from viewing the photos, later
leaving work to exercise for the first time in a while but the effect ended
the next morning. He returned to work the next day and viewed the photographs
again, resulting in the same energized feeling. He repeatedly viewed the photos
and kept getting the positive energized result.
-Fatigued
An MTF "Nine-Tailed Fox" Agent volunteered for experimentation, and reported
feeling very fatigued after viewing the photographs, having to rest just a few
hours, later waking up extremely refreshed
-Cure Diseases
Subject D-3895, known to have been suffering from Cardiovascular Disease, viewed
the images for 10 minutes and reported no otherwise noticeable feeling. A full
diagnostic was made and he was found to have been cured of his Cardiovascular
Disease.
There seems to be a much higher chance in obtaining a positive effect rather than
a negative one. Aswell as obtaining the same effect each time. Caution is advised
until experiments can be made on repairing the shutter and taking a photograph
instead of viewing previously taken ones.
