Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be stored in a cylindrical container of at least 10 cm radius and 50 cm height. The container is to be placed in cold storage room of -5 degrees Celsius or less. If SCP-XXXX is to be removed from the container for any reason, it must be done by 2 personnel, both wearing rubber suits encasing their entire bodies. Both people must have stun guns and pure copper bands within reach at all times, and SCP-XXXX is to be handled by only one person at a time.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a metal that becomes liquid when introduced to temperatures above 5 degrees Celsius. SCP-XXXX is 1 litre in volume. Whilst in liquid form it will stay in one pool, which can only be broken into separate parts with the use of a blade made of pure copper. SCP-XXXX has a light pink colour to it, with a shiny surface. The lower the temperature of SCP-XXXX the darker red the colour becomes. Test have gone into making SCP-XXXX evaporate, but this has not yet been achieved, therefore what it looks like in gas from is unknown. SCP-XXXX was originally discovered in a small mine located in Southeast Mexico in 1998.

Upon touching any organic matter, SCP-XXXX will start to grow in volume and move up the surface of the organic matter. It moves 5 cm every second it is left in contact with the matter, until it eventually covers the entire surface. SCP-XXXX will not encase anything 3 cm3 or less, instead it will just remain in its liquid form. Once SCP-XXXX has encased the entire object it's colour will change to a silvery-blue. Whilst the object is fully encased in SCP-XXXX, it will remain in a stasis in which nothing can affect it. The object will not age or die, and any diseases or illnesses it has will be stopped in their path, no longer affecting the object.

SCP-XXXX's progress will not be affected by non-organic matter placed in it's way. Instead, it will encase the non-organic matter as well. The only thing that can halt SCP-XXXX's progress is pure Copper wrapped tightly around the area upon where you want to stop SCP-XXXX. The copper must be wrapped tighly enough that SCP-XXXX can not pass under or around it. Once this has been achieved, SCP-XXXX will stop and change to its blue state.

The only way to remove SCP-XXXX from the organic matter it has encased is to apply precisely 72 volts to it's surface. When it receives the charge, it will return to it's liquid form and drop to the ground. For 15 minutes after SCP-XXXX has received the charge it will not react to touching any organic matter. The organic matter will be just as it was when it was encased in SCP-XXXX, with no memory of what happened.
