Special Containment Procedures: The foundation has bought out the residential area surrounding SCP-5~~~, and re-located all civilians to different housing options. This neighborhood is classified as SCP-5~~~-1. All roads going into SCP-5~~~-1 have been blocked off and barricaded with permanent, 1.2 meter tall, concrete walls.
All road entrances into SCP-5~~~-1 are to have guards posted at all times and the manmade lagoon which goes through SCP-5~~~-1 is to be monitored at all times. All guards are to be equipped with high-grade gasmasks in order to avoid some of the effects of SCP-5~~~. Any civilians or unexpected foundation members who attempt to enter SCP-5~~~-1 should be contained, and procedure "Propositum" is to be carried out to determine whether said civilian is under the influence of SCP-5~~~.
In the case that the civilian has not been affected by SCP-5~~~ they are to be escorted out of SCP-5~~~-1 and amnestics are to be administered.
If the civilian appears to have been affected by SCP-5~~~ they are now referred to as SCP5~~~-2. Personnel are to stop any instances of SCP-5~~~-2 and bring them to Site-11 for further research Personnel are to allow any instances of SCP-5~~~-2 to proceed to SCP-5~~~ where they will detach the lid of the grate, crawl in, close the grate above them, and then let themselves fall down the pipe.
If any anomalous behaviors besides the ones already documented occur, or any instances of SCP-5~~-2 break the aforementioned behavioral patterns, Dr.W██████1 Dr.A█████ is to be notified and transferred to SCP-5~~~-1 for further examination and research of SCP-5~~~ through SCP-5~~~-2.
Description: SCP-5~~~ is a drainage grate located in a residential area made up of townhouses in [REDACTED], [REDACTED], in the United States. SCP-5~~~ currently exhibits 2 3 4 5 known anomalous properties.
SCP-5~~~ emits a strong smell of sewage throughout SCP-5~~~-1, the smell can cause nausea and loss of consciousness without proper protective equipment. (High-grade gas masks).
Every two weeks SCP-5~~~ chooses a random person from South, Central, or North America, luring them with a smell connected to a fond memory. These people, now classified as SCP-5~~~-2, retain sentience and continue to act like normal people, however, their only goal is to climb into the grate, and drop themselves into the water below.2

When tests were run on SCP-5~~~ to determine its depth, 2 different results came back. When researchers used lengths of rope to measure the drop, they found that every test had slightly different results, although each test had results between 48 and 54 meters. When D-Class personnel were lowered into the hole, however, it took over 130 meters of rope for them to reach the bottom. It was also discovered that when humans come into contact with the water at the bottom of SCP-5~~~ they become an instance of SCP-5~~~-2.
