Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a 5cm x 5cm airtight container. The container is to be made of glass and stored at Site ██. It is to remain switched off at all times apart from when it is under testing. At no point are headphones to be plugged into SCP-XXXX, unless given authorisation by Level 3 personnel.

Description: SCP-??? is a red coloured 2nd Generation iPod Nano with what appears to be every song published since 1998. When the iPod is turned on it will have updated its song library to the current date. It has been noted as having an extremely high audio quality, with a bitrate of 2048kbps. It appears to have been used extensively, with multiple scuff marks, as well as missing volume buttons. The back of the object has an engraving which reads 'ONE SONG A DAY KEEPS THE TINNITUS¹ AWAY'.

When a living organism listens to more than one song on SCP-XXXX within 24 hours, the subject will experience multiple lacerations on and inside their body. The lacerations appear to the rhythm of the song, and it has been proven impossible to take out the headphones while this happens. If the headphones are removed by an external force, the subject will still experience the music, the only difference being a more distorted and painful experience.

Test XXXX-1 - 29/06/20██

Subject: D-29743
Procedure: D-29743 was instructed to listen to a song on SCP-XXXX. Headphones were provided.
Results: Song choice was All Star by Smash Mouth. The subject reported that it had amazing quality. D-29743 requested to listen to a different song. Request denied.
Analysis: One song does not seem to affect subjects, psychological testing is currently underway on people who have listened to a single song.

Test XXXX-2 - 02/07/20██

Subject: D-38263
Procedure: D-38263 was instructed to listen to two songs. Headphones provided.
Results: D-38263 listened to 7th Element by Vitas. Reported amazing song quality. D-38263 then listened to Sandstorm by Darude, stating that he couldn't wait. 7.5 seconds into the song D-38263 started experiencing stress and pain. Subject began to shake as though being shot or stabbed multiple times. 30 seconds later subject passed out from extreme pain due to sustained lacerations to his body.
Analysis: Autopsy showed extreme trauma inside the body, including lungs and heart almost split into two. Body incinerated after study.

Test XXXX-3 - 08/08/20██

Subject: D-42053
Procedure: SCP-XXXX was connected to a speaker and played two songs out loud in a soundproof room.
Results: D-42053 reported feeling very uneasy by the second song but no abnormalities occurred.
Analysis: It has been theorised that SCP-XXXX can only attack when it has a physical connection to a human. Further testing needed.

Test XXXX-4 - 29/09/20██

Subject: D-89953
Procedure: SCP-XXXX connected to a speaker and played two songs. Subject instructed to touch the speaker.
Results: Subject experienced a feeling of great unease, and reported minor pricks on her skin.
Analysis: Theorised that the object can only damage a body when it is in contact with major orifices on the body. Further research necessary.

Test XXXX-5 Video Log - 25/11/20██

13:13:01 Dr █████: We are about to begin testing. D-48382 could you please place your ear on the speaker, D-98439 could you please look at the speaker, and D-23498 could you please place your nose on the speaker as well.

13:13:05 Subjects move to the speaker and place their orifices on it.

13:13:34 Dr █████: The second song will begin playing. Please remain calm during the test, and everything will be ok.

13:13:40 The song begins playing.

13:14:25 D-48382 begins to convulse wildly, stab wounds appear on his body.

13:14:26 D-98439: What the fuck is happening? Get me out of he-

13:14:31 D-98439's eyes get gouged out. He screams in pain.

13:14:38 D-23498: Oh god, oh god please no, plea-

13:14:40 Blood appears to come out of D-23498's nose. She stumbles about before falling over and collapsing. Lacerations appear on her face for another 39 seconds before ceasing.

Closing Statement: Test ended with two casualties. Autopsies reveal that D-48382 ended up in the same condition as D-38263 (see Test XXXX-2), D-23498 was found to have lacerations on the brain and top of spinal cord, whereas D-98439 made it out without one of his eyes. Findings show that the eyeball was severed from the head before being gouged out.
