Special Containment Procedures: A 3.5m electrified fence has been erected around the perimeter of SCP-4645, which will issue a 3000V shock upon skin contact. Access is only permitted to C Class personnel or above. Signs have been erected around the fence to deter civilians from attempting to trespass.
Description: SCP-4645 is a standard 400M running track with white painted markings for six lanes that stretch 1 meter across for each lane and a line for the starting position. The track is 2 miles away from the small town of ██████, Illinois and is in close proximity to a local high school. The track was reportedly constructed in 1983 for the nearby ███████████ Township High school but the school for unknown reasons decided to ditch the track due to its locality to deer colonies. It was abandoned after two months of construction. The anomalous effects of this SCP come when running on its surface. If an individual begins to run on the track for approximately ten seconds, 5-8 animate clay humanoids, designated SCP-4645-1 will begin to rise from the tracks surface and sprint towards the individual on the track. They will continuously sprint after the individual until they are able to reach them, at which point they will extend their arms and slowly drag them back down into the track. SCP-4645-1 instances will slowly melt down from the feet to the head whilst latching on to the victim causing them to be dragged down with them until they have completely disappeared from view. Victims of SCP-4645 have not yet been seen to resurface from the track.
These are various test logs in chronological order of the nature of the SCP-4645-1 instances. All testing has been done in a controlled environment enlisting Class D personnel as the test subjects.
Testing Log 4645-1-A (Test 1-3)
SCP-4645-1 instances all seem to be made from the same composite clay material that the running track is made out of. This is assumed from visual similarities to the track and the SCP-4645-1 instances in their color. They also spawn from the track varying in height, bodily proportions and running speeds. Through tests #1 to #3, they have all been shown to have odd bodily proportions, with some possessing an over sized head and some others completely missing arms. One instance during test #2 grew to about 2.15 metres tall but was missing both of his legs entirely. This instance resorted to frantically dragging itself across the floor with its two extremely long arms in an attempt to reach the Class D subject. Despite this all tests resulted in the disappearance of the test subject, mainly due to the barely humanoid instances managing to reach speeds of up to 25 mph and the average running speed of all Class D personnel being only 13 mph. D-15263, D-64962 and D-15254 have been declared dead.
Testing Log 4645-1-A (Test 4-6)
SCP-4645-1 instances are now spawning more consistently with four moderately sized human limbs and are now averaging out at about 5'9 inches tall in height. Most have been able to run
