Item #: SCP-6886
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6886's containment procedures varies with its appearance. Facing SCP-6886 away from any human personnel or covering it with an opaque cloth will prevent any anomalous behavior.
Description: SCP-6886 is a mirror, approximately 30 cm in height and width, that appeared in our current dimension, according to SCP-6886-1, a college student named James Eldric Benedict. The mirror, in its current state, is framed with a purple plastic frame with a metal wire bolted to the back for hanging. It was brought to the attention of the Foundation after SCP-6886-1 was found waiting inside Site-73 with SCP-6886 in his hands, asking for Dr. Peter Barkins, later identified to be Sergeant Peter Barkins, a soldier for the United States Marine Corps.
SCP-6886 possesses the ability to create a memetic link between any human subject that looks into it and all probable versions of the subject across all probable events of both this and other dimensions . Interviews with SCP-6886-1 has revealed that once a subject has looked into the mirror, they are transported to what has been described a "mirror fun house", where several disembodied voices whispered nonsense in hushed tones before the subject was returned to their original location approximately 30 seconds after entering what has been coined the "Nexus" by SCP-6886-1. The subject returns with the full knowledge of every probability they may or may not have lived through up to the current day, gaining the knowledge of the experiences of "other versions of yourself" in real-time.
According to SCP-6886-1,SCP-6886 does not produce a reflection of any human subject that appears in front of it, regardless of eye contact, and has no effects on humanoid SCPs or any other organisms. SCP-6886 cannot be destroyed permanently, but will shatter if exposed to sounds reaching or exceeding 130 decibels for more than seven seconds. It will remain broken for 24 hours (starting precisely at the time of shattering) before reassembling itself in the shape of a new mirror.
SCP-6886-1 is a male human of African descent with a height of 184cm (just over 6ft), athletic build, weighing approximately 87kg (just under 192 lbs). He has been identified as James Eldric Benedict, a college student attending [DATA EXPUNGED] until he was reported missing by local authorities on September 27, 2016. To lessen the confusion surrounding SCP-6886, SCP-6886-1 will be referred to as "Jeb", as requested.
Due to the anomalous property of SCP-6886, Jeb possesses unlimited knowledge of any and all his experiences up to the current day. He will then continue to gain knowledge in real-time, recalling any and all memories with "perfect clarity". Jeb was born in our dimension but claims that SCP-6886 is not from our dimension, but an anomaly that the Foundation of another dimension could not contain due lack of resources necessary. Jeb insisted that the information was false, claiming protocol to be the primary reason for its exile to this dimension.
Jeb also claims that he shares the same physical anomalous properties with SCP-6886 in regards to death. If Jeb is to receive physical damage proving fatal, or otherwise killed, he will shatter as if he were made of glass, only to reform at the origin of his "death" 24 minutes later, as opposed to 24 hours. Nonlethal injuries, illnesses, poisons, and drugs still affect Jeb as normal, but he is immune to anomalous memetic agents.
Interviewed: SCP-6886-1 codename: Jeb
Interviewer: Dr. Martin Finley
[This is Researcher Dr. Martin Finley interviewing SCP-6886-1. Log 1. A camera has been set to record the subject, angled as such that his face and upper torso clearly visible with Dr. Finley not visually present. The subject is bound to the table via standard handcuffs and two security officers have been placed in the back of the interview room equipped with riot gear and non-lethal firearms.]
<Begin log. [02/09/2020 14:32]>
Finley: You were found inside Site-17 without proper authorization. How did you gain access to the facility?
[The subject maintains eye contact with whom is assumed to be Dr. Finley for four seconds before responding.]
Jeb: I…I'm sorry. I know you. You're Marty.
Finley:…I beg your pardon?
[The room is silent for a moment and the subject begins to gester at Finley with their hands and shake their head.]
Jeb: Your name is Martin. You're- well, not here, obviously, but-!
Finley: How did you know the location of Site-17?
[The subject has remained quiet for 15 seconds while maintaining eye contact. Subject suggests he is familiar with Dr. Finley and shows signs of hesitation during the time of silence.]
Jeb: You were a D-Class. Is that what you call 'em? Your test subjects here?
[Subject directs their attention to the handcuffs. There is a pause.]
Yeah, you sat right here. You were first to go in.
Finley: The scenario you're suggesting is impossible. I have no idea who you are and you have no clearance to-
[Subject raises their head and focuses on something, assumed to be Dr. Finley.]
Jeb: I killed you, man…you, Marshall, Tanner, Muriel….you were all chosen for the experiment. I deemed you necessary for sacrifice…
[Security personnel move towards the subject but are apparently called off by Finley. There is a pause that lasts for approximately twelve seconds before the interview is continued.]
Dr. Finley: You're suggesting that you had me used in an experiment that resulted in my death. You are clearly mistaken. As you can see, I am here working as the researcher.
Jeb: It's not like that. I know we don't know each other here, in this dimension, but in another reality, I guess, we do. Except I'm…essentially you.
[The subject trails off before Dr. Finley is heard letting out a sigh.]
Finley: The subject suggests a reality-bending anomalous property to be associated with SCP-6886. Is this how you managed to infiltrate Site-17?
Jeb: I didn't infiltrate anything, I came looking for help. I already explained to your buddy in Interrogation that I
