Owlflight

Item#: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is allowed free roam of the facility, obviously barring anything that would breach security or safety protocols. Any time SCP-XXXX leaves its private quarters it must be accompanied by an agent, mostly at this point to make sure that it does not accidentally break the following rules.
SCP-XXXX is forbidden to take any valuable Foundation property or other SCPs into their care/ momentary possession. Personnel is also advised to not give any personal possessions to SCP-XXXX, altho it will remind personnel of that on its own.
Any personal item that is “lost” due to disobeying this protocol makes the loss its own punishment. Disobeying the protocol regarding Foundation property and other SCP’s results in harsher disciplinary punishments depending on the lost item.

Item Description: SCP-XXXX is a 22 years old caucasian male with short brown hair and gray eyes, other than almost being obese, the subject doesn't have any other outstanding characteristics. SCP-XXXX is named “Bill ████,” Foundation staff and personnel refer to him as “Unlucky Bill”. He had an unremarkable upbringing besides his "Problems'' which gave his mother ████ ████ a hard time and often resulted in the subject getting into trouble.
SCP-XXXX was retrieved from a police station after it was accused of kidnapping and possibly murdering his infant niece while he was tasked with watching over her for a few minutes despite the subject's objections, after which SCP-XXXX claims to have “forgotten where he put her”. The infant was never found again and due to the time frame of about 4 minutes in which he had last been seen with the victim, law enforcement found no possible explanation of what happened to the niece. (More on that in Addendum XXXX 01)
After evaluation of interviews with SCP-XXXX, the researchers are unsure about the condition of which the subject suffers. It seems as though SCP-XXXX can make items just disappear from existence, without the subject knowledge of what happened to them. SCP-XXXX describes it as losing or misplacing objects like one might not find a car key or a wallet, but all objects the subject “loses” or “misplaces” are never found again and several tests reveal no trace of what happened to the items. (A Full list of lost items can be found in Addendum XXXX 00.)
Favored theories by the time of writing are Teleportation (possibly to another dimension), destruction, and turning the objects unperceivable by all means.

Addendum XXXX 00: A List of “lost” items:

  • Numerous Keys
  • Multiple Cell Phones
  • Wallets
  • Money
  • D-Class 5348 (see Addendum XXXX 03)
  • Strains of thought and memories (Medical evaluation of Subject confirmed the suspicion that this is indeed related to SCP-XXXX’s condition rather than amnesia.)
  • SCP-████ (Addendum XXXX 04)
  • A “lucky charm” for a Keychain (See Addendum XXXX 03/1)
  • An Infant
  • A Cup of coffee
  • A Car
  • ████ ████████ ████ ████ ██

Addendum XXXX 01: Interview between Dr. ████ and SCP-XXXX

The Interview took place in room ██ on site ██.

Dr.████: [This is Interview XXXX 01 This is Dr. ████, I'm here with Mr. ████ it's 8:44am on ██/██/████. Good Morning Mr. ████ how are you today?]

SCP-XXXX: [(Subject appears to be Anxious, rotates a cup of coffee in his hands while he investigates the interview room.) I’m fine.]

Dr.████: [Good to hear. So, my colleagues already informed me of this “condition” of yours. Could you explain it to me again, just for the record?]

SCP-XXXX: [Uhm of course. So, I often happen to lose or misplace many different things like keys or wallets.]

Dr. ████: [But it's not as simple as that, now is it Mr. ████?]

SCP-XXXX: [(Looks in an uncertain manner at Dr. ████) No… it’s very weird. It already started when I was young, I would always lose toys and such and my mom told me to clean my room to find them. But even after we both cleaned my room and searched everywhere the toys could never be found again. Mom used to get really angry at me because we didn’t have a lot of money. This continued for my whole life, i lost homework in school, teachers didn’t like that, also often lost lunch money, mom didn't like that.]

Dr. ████: [How did you explain your problem to other people?]

SCP-XXXX: [I just said that I couldn’t find them anymore, people got used to me losing stuff after a while. It was easier to explain when people were already mocking me about that, so they took their answers for me.]

Dr. ████: [That must’ve been unpleasant. Could you tell me what happens to the items you “lose” as you put it?]

SCP-XXXX: [(Subject shrugs) I don't know. One moment i have them and as soon as i put them somewhere and forget about them just for a moment, they are gone. Has always been like that, can't explain why.]

Dr. ████: [In terms of size Mr. ████, what was the biggest item you have “lost” so far?]

SCP-XXXX: [(Visibly uncomfortable) Once I took my mom’s car to buy groceries and in front of the store was this big parking lot and I forgot where I parked the car. Mom got so angry with me. She couldn’t afford another car for over a year until my sister bought her one for christmas. Mom never let me drive it to help her.]

Dr. ████: [You mentioned your sister, tell me about her for a short bit.]

SCP-XXXX: [My sister? Uh sure, she is the nicest person i know. Name is ████, she was always so understanding of me, the only person that believed me, that it wasn't my fault all those things went missing. Or at least not entirely.]

Dr. ████: [Until she became a Mother. Tell me about last night.]

SCP-XXXX: [(Subject starts to cry silently, tries to hold itself together.) It… it’s not my fault i swear! (Subject starts to sob.)]

Dr. ████: [Tell me about last night or I can’t help you Mr. ████.]

SCP-XXXX: [(Sobbing.) I told her I shouldn’t have her. She said it would be okay and that she trusts me. I was so nervous that I would drop her, she was so little, so I placed her on a soft spot just to be sure. Then there was a thunderstorm starting, see, I was always afraid of thunder, so it distracted me and I went over to close the curtains, the next moment I turned around and was puzzled on where I left here].

Dr. ████: [And that's where you realized that she was now “Lost” too. Those Injuries in your face, how did you aquire those?]

SCP-XXXX: [Her Husband got really angry when they came back into the room and little ████ wasn’t there anymore. (Sobbing.) He started beating me until my Sister came into the room and stopped him.]

Dr. ████: [And what did she do as she found out?]

SCP-XXXX: [(Due to the stress and grief of the Subject most of the following is inaudible.) … cried…screamed…understood me…hates me….left the room…husband called police…]

Dr. ████: [Alright Mr. ████, that about does it for Interview XXXX 01. Thank you for your compliance, my assistant will take you to a room now where you can collect yourself. In 3 Hours we will talk with you on further procedures.]

SCP-XXXX: [(Nods, stays quiet while being escorted out of the room)]

Dr. ████: [Oh Mr. ████ one more thing, what happened to your cup of coffee?]

SCP-XXXX: [Huh?.. I just drank from it.. a moment ago.]

Dr. ████: [I see.]

End Log, security footage shows that the Cup was hidden behind the subject's arms as it was in a griefing position during the last parts of the Interview. When the subject was escorted out of the room, the table on the side of SCP-XXXX was empty.

SCP-XXXX has a shown a strong indication to inflict harm upon itself, after the traumatic experience in regards to its niece. After psychological treatment began to take effect, the subject had been deemed safe and was allowed to roam the facility.
After becoming familiar with the foundation, SCP-XXXX agreed to tests regarding its condition.

Addendum XXXX 02: Testings of SCP-XXXX’s condition.

XXXX 02/1
The Subject was given a “lucky charm” in the form of an owl for its keychain. The charm was fitted with a globally working GPS-tracker without the knowledge of SCP-XXXX. Upon “loss” of the keychain, the GPS-signal was lost and couldn’t be picked up again.

XXXX 02/2
D-Class 5348 was Chained to SCP-XXXX via handcuffs with a chain of 2 Meters and told to follow SCP-XXXX wherever he goes. Agent ████ was always nearby, without observing the 2 subjects, in case D-Class 5348 would make an escape attempt.
After four (4) days of being Chained together, D-Class 5348 has not been “lost”.
SCP-XXXX’s requests to be unchained from D-Class 5348. Granted.

XXXX 02/2-1
D-Class 5348 was placed under the direct care of SCP-XXXX and ordered to obey anything SCP-XXXX commands without expressing any personal desires.
Agent ████ was kept on standby in the vicinity of SCP-XXXX and the D-Class.
On the second (2) day the Subject wasn't as irritated by D-Class 5348’s presence anymore and ordered to “just sit somewhere” while SCP-XXXX was reading a comic book in its private quarters. When the Subject passed Agent ████ while leaving its room one (1) hour later, it was asked about the location of the D-Class, upon which SCP-XXXX looked back into the now empty room in shock.
D-Class 5348 is presumed “lost”, as there was no possible way of escape.

XXXX 02/3
SCP-XXXX received SCP-662 and was ordered to command “Mr. Deeds” just as he did D-Class 5348. Upon SCP-XXXX’s objections, after the “loss” of D-Class 5348, the subject was briefed about the nature of “Mr. Deeds” and seized objections afterward.
This time the Tests took place in surveilled areas at first to which it was noted, that objects that are actively observed can’t get “lost”. It should be noted that it does not matter if the Cameras are visible or hidden.
After Mr. Deeds was finally “lost” in a non surveilled area, it was able to re-summon him 3 minutes later by a ring of SCP-662.
Note XXXX 03/3:
Possible connections between SCP-662 and SCP-XXXX regarding the rule of observation need to be further investigated.

Addendum XXXX 03:

Upon request of SCP-507, SCP-XXXX and SCP-507 had a meeting in which they talked in SCP-XXXX’s private quarters.
Request: After the meeting, SCP-507 proposes to be placed under SCP-XXXX’s care. SCP-507 strongly believes that SCP-XXXX’s condition consists of “shifting” the items to another dimension.
Denied, researchers can't count out other theories, the danger for SCP-507 is deemed too high. SCP-507 was given a list of the “lost” items and a picture of the “lost” car, in case it should come across the items during a “shift”.

Addendum XXXX 05:

During a Containment breach, where SCP-XXXX happened to be in the vicinity, the mortally wounded agent ████ gave a small containment cube inhabiting SCP- ████ to the subject with the instructions “Bring this as fast as you can to another Agent or Dr. ████! Whoever you find first!”. Whilst SCP-XXXX delivered the Cube in a running motion it tripped and lost sight of the item. When the subject recovered its footing, its package was “lost”. Agent ████ succumbed to his wounds and so punishment was deemed unnecessary.
