Special Containment Procedures:
SCP-XXXX is to be contained in an air-proof containment chamber of no less that 7 meters x 7 meters and provide adequate room for movement at site ███. Entrance to the containment chamber shall be via an automatic airlock. Under no exceptions is ventilation of the containment chamber allowed.

Basic living necessities such as bedding and food are to be provided. Meals are to be brought to SCP-XXXX containment chamber around 9;00 am (breakfast), 1;00 pm (lunch) 17;00 pm (dinner).
SCP-XXXX's room is to be cleaned once a week. Any findings such as drawings or written text are to be reported to Dr. James.

Military great gas masks are to be worn when personnel are between 5 and 15 meters of SCP-XXXX. No personnel is allowed to come closer then 5 meters of SCP-XXXX due to insufficient protection An exception to this rule are so called playmates (humans or humanoid SCP's between the biological ages of 5-16 or 60+).

Playmates are to enter SCP-XXXX three times a week for "play time". Toys or equipment are to be provided if requested by the playmate and approved by clearance level:2 personnel.

Discovery
SCP-XXXX was discovered in an ancient temple located in ████████████ around ██;██ o'clock. The origin of the temple is unknown, but appears to be man made. An investigative team was dispatched after the archaeological team was hospitalized do to difficulty breathing, mainly due to lung cancer and sarcoidosis.

Investigative team found SCP-XXXX huddled in the corner, a senior team member noted that "the child was crying". Other items recovered from site where:

1. An stone urn with unknown symbols.
2. A knife made out of an unknown white metal.
3. A tribal mask, which appeared to have be carved recently.

The items are currently stored at area ███ and are currently undergoing investigation.

Description:
SCP-XXXX appears to be small child. Its body appears to be see through and exist out of unknown particles giving the entity a rough and constantly changing body shape and length. Although its length changes it has never been observed to go lower than 56 centimetres or higher than 1.2 meters. It is incapable of basic speech, till now it has refused to partake in any form of communication with site personnel. So its unknown if SCP-XXXX understands us.

Playmates
Playmates are humans or humanoid SCP's between the biological ages of 5-16 or 60+. Playmates are unable to tell that SCP-XXXX is an anomaly and appear to perceive it as a normal child. Age, gender and racial-features appear to vary depending on the playmate. An unknown language is used for communication between the playmate and SCP-XXXX. All individuals questioned about their conversation with SCP-XXXX show extreme fear even tho they are unable to recall anything.
Test show that interactions with playmates reduce the range of SCP-XXXX's effect.

Food
As stated above food and water are provided on a daily basis. Seeing as SCP-XXXX feels no need to use the toilet a test was preformed to determine what happens after consumption. A microscopic camera with a direct broadcast to a nearby PC was used and placed in SCP-XXXX's meal. But SCP-XXXX refused to partake in the meal. Attempts at a late date had the same effect.
Test show that SCP-XXXX's effect increases when food is denied or unavailable.

effect on the human body
After multiple test directed by Dr. James it was concluded that:
- Any and all humans with the exception of playmates that come within 5 meters of SCP-XXXX suffer immediate and permanent lung damage. This can take the form of cancer, sarcoidosis¹, asbestosis², aspergilloma³, Pulmonary fibrosis ⁴ and tobacco expose equal to ~100 pack years.
Cases left untreated will die within an hour due to asphyxiation or multi-organ failure.

- Gas mask are only effective at a distance greater than 5 meters and should always be worn when between 5 and 10 meters of SCP-XXXX. If the subject is more then 10 meters away there is little to no damage to the lungs or other organs.
All personnel handling SCP-XXXX are required to report to medical for testing when they notice any change in their health.
Modern medical treatment seems to have the same effect on diseases caused by SCP-XXXX.

Test if SCP's and animals also experience irreparable damage to the lungs and other organs is currently awaiting approval.

SCP-XXXX-A:
██/██/████. Science personnel noticed small vibrations comming from SCP-XXXX. Personnel is currently trying to decipher these vibrations.

SCP-XXXX-B:
██/██/████. SCP-XXXX wrote the following text on its containment chamber with a pencil:
"Anha bet yer hash happy rek yer managed tat lekh-nesikh jin vosma jini disse anna akka ki wasting yeri kashi akka playing ma yer doctor. Shillat anna yer zhorre vo seen anything vosma"
Translation is currently ongoing, it is believed that this text could help decipher SCP-XXXX's vibrations.

Test: 093
D-91923 designated for testing when approaching SCP-XXX.
D-91923:
Age: 34 years.
Sex: Male (M/m).
Length: 184 centimetres
Ethnicity: Caucasian.
Previous job: metalworker at ████████
D-91923 was apprehended by local law enforcement when police raided his home. They found 5 missing children (ages 4-6, all female, Caucasian with blond hair and blue eyes) in his basement. From documents it seems that D-91923 used these children for recreational and cannibalistic purposes. His exact motives for this behavior were unclear, but after test it seemed that D-91923 was fully aware of his actions and had no psychological damage. D-91923 was sentenced to death by the court. After which the SCP-foundation received him per the usual deal.
Note: The children where safely recovered and are currently going through counseling.

D-91923 was ordered to enter SCP-XXXX's test chamber with gas-mask. D-91923 followed orders without hesitation. Distance D-91923 and SCP-XXXX ~10.6 meters. D-91923 ordered to take of gas-mask. D-91923 complained, but accepted. Science personnel order D-91923 to slowly approach SCP-XXXX 50 centimetres at a time. D-91923 complains about a lot of dust in the air and requests ventilation of the room. Request is denied by science personnel. D-91923 is reminded to approach SCP-XXXX. D-91923 complies and starts approaching SCP-XXXX. D-91923 stops ~5 meters before SCP-XXXX and is asked if he smells something weird. D-91923 says that it still smells like a dusty basement. D-91923 ordered to keep approaching SCP-XXXX with 10 centimetre intervals. D-91923 40 centimetres in D-91923 begins coughing profusely. D-91923 says that breathing is becoming extremely difficult. D-91923 is ordered to keep approaching SCP-XXXX. 3 meters from SCP-XXXX D-91923 complains about an inability to breath and requests to leave for some fresh air. Request is accepted. D-91923 leaves containment chamber and is brought to medical. D-91923 dies shortly after arriving at medical. Autopsy showed advanced pulmonary fibrosis.

D-91952:
Age: 54 years.
Sex: Female (F/f).
Length: 151 centimetres.
Ethnicity: Asian.
Previous job: unknown.
D-91952 was delivered to the foundation from a Chinese prison. Reason for death penalty was not stated.

D-91952 was ordered to enter SCP-XXXX without gas mask D-91952 complied. Distance D-91952 and SCP-XXXX ~9.1 meters. When inside SCP-XXXX test chamber D-91952 complained about a dusty smell she described it as "an old library". D-91952 was ordered to approach SCP-XXXX 1 meter at a time with 10 minute inter vaults. D-91952 complied. after 9 minutes D-91952 starts coughing profusely. After 16 minutes D-91952 complains about an inability to breath and requests to return. Request was denied. After 21 minutes (~ meters away form SCP-XXXX) D-91952 drops on the floor. Test is stopped and D-91952's body is recovered. Autopsy showed signs of asphyxiation due to pulmonary fibrosis and heavy smoking.

D-10291:
Age: 18 years.

Length: 179 centimetres.
Ethnicity: Asian.
Previous job: unknown
D-10291 was delivered to the foundation from a Chinese prison. Reason for D-10291's imprisonment are unknown.

D-10291 ordered to enter SCP-XXXX testing chamber. Distance D-10291 and SCP-XXXX is ~10.3 meters. D-10291 is ordered to run in the direction of SCP-XXXX and return. D-10291 complains but when offered freedom after completing this test accepts. D-10291 runs (13.5 km/h) at SCP-XXXX. D-10291 drops 30 centimetres before SCP-XXXX. D-10291's body is recovered. Autopsy showed stage 3B lung cancer.

D-17281:

Previous job: waitress at the cheesecake factory.
D-17281 was apprehended by local law enforcement in Texas. D-17281 received the death penalty after burning down a house out of jealousy. This resulted in 3 death.

D-17281 was ordered put on a gas mask and enter SCP-XXXX's testing chamber. D-17281 complied. Distance D-17281 and SCP-XXXX ~12,3 meters. D-17281 is ordered to run to SCP-XXXX while wearing the gas mask. D-17281 complains. D-17281 is reminded that failure will result in her immediate termination. D-17281 complains, but gets ready. D-17281 runs at the signal to SCP-XXXX while wearing the gas mask. D-17281 drops 30 centimetres before SCP-XXXX. D-17281's body is recovered for autopsy. Autopsy showed signs of stage 4 lung cancer.
