This is the current To-Do list. Anything that has been done will be crossed out.
To-Do List:
- Get two authors to read the SCP.
- Write a Tale.
Done List:
Test out the Tabs.
Create a "Testing" Tab.
Create an SCP Tab.
Write an SCP.
Sub To-Do: Copy over the SCP from Word.
This is where I'll test out formatting, coding, and many, many more things.
- test
- test 2
Figured out how lists work, wooo!
This is where I'll write down SCP ideas. Might be gibberish, who knows.
The Parasitic Wings idea. Copy that over.
And that's it!
Hey, would you look at that! I'm actually doing something at long last!
Before reading, keep in mind that the number will change (it was a random available number when I started writing this) and that this is by no means finished. I still have a lot of ideas to put down, reformatting, and even rewrites if necessary.
Item #: SCP-5956
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: Instances of SCP-5956 must be kept in a room with a 3m height and a surface area of 5 by 3 metres. They must be contained as a flock of 3 to 5 individuals and the number of instances must be counted regularly. The interior of the containment unit must provide at least 2 perches, 2 feeding trays that are filled remotely, and a camera which must survey the cell 24/7. The entrance to a containment unit must have an airlock. The unit itself must be air-tight and any cracks that are seen on the walls must be taken care of immediately.
The containment cell must be cleaned weekly by 2 personnel wearing hazmat suits. Prior to entering the cell, all instances SCP-5956 must be gassed with anaesthetics. 1 person must clean the unit while 1 must be ready to gas any instances of SCP-5956 if they appear to be waking up.
Description: SCP-5956 has been observed travelling in flocks between 3 to 10 individuals on average, however, seasonal migrations can accumulate up to 200 individuals. They are mostly found in heavily forested areas or on the coasts near Oceans, where it is usually confused with seabirds.
All instances of SCP-5956 posses 2 feathered wings on which 2 clawed digits can be found, utilized for climbing and crawling, their primary mode of locomotion if SCP-5956 cannot take flight. Their mouth contains retractable hook like canines. SCP-5956 is fully white and their skeletal structure is made out of cartilage, other than their mouth. Although their wingspan can reach up to 1.5 metres, due to their skeleton, SCP-5956 can fit in cracks approximately 7 cm wide, the diameter of their mouth. There are no other defining characteristics to SCP-5956.
Similarly to starfish, SCP-5956 can regrow any lost tissue at an accelerated speed and if the lost amount is sufficient, it could regrow an entirely new individual. Poisoning has been found to be the only way to eliminate SCP-5956 instances without risking complications, however, their irregular feeding patterns have proven such a task near impossible in the wild.
Although mostly passive (showing no signs of aggression towards animals in tests), SCP-956 will attack any and all humans that it senses, often swarming and attaching to a person as a group. Due to its lack of defining features, it is assumed instances of SCP-5956 track food and prey based on smell however results from dissecting individuals are inconclusive.
Once attached, SCP-5956 is nearly impossible to detach – emergency operations being required.
Immediately after attaching, SCP-5956’s wings will begin to grow rapidly, usually resulting in its victim’s death due to immense pain, presumably because of SCP-5965 draining the host’s sustenance. Assuming one survives their attack, SCP-5956 will begin to slowly spread on its host’s body as a white substance. Interviews with these individuals indicate that SCP-5956 continues to drain the victim as it spreads and changes certain aspects of the body, similar to a metamorphosis.
All subjects who made it to the later stages of the metamorphosis appear extremely paranoid and anxious. Most individuals die due to lack of nutrients and energy, while some have ended up taking their own life.
So far, only one test has proven successful in creating SCP-5956-A. After approximately 1 month, D-91432 went into a comatose and was rushed to the infirmary. After stabilizing, the growth of the white substance continued until it finally covered the head. Based on the footage we had gathered, the new entity, SCP-5956-A, is a fully white humanoid with 2 large wings which enable it to fly and only one eye situated in a vertical position on its head.
Based on eye-witness accounts, SCP-5956-A is able to morph its limbs into various objects, including, but probably not limited to, keys, keycards (although it was not able to open any doors this way), hammers, swords, and anything else that may physically cause harm.
SCP-5956-A is extremely aggressive and currently out of containment.
Addendum:
Incident 4956-A-1:
<Date: 10/11/████. Time: 06:24 PM>
SCP 5956-A is seen slowly sitting up and removing the medical equipment from around itself. The infirmary staff had exited the room due to SCP-5956-A being in a stable state.
SCP-5956-A is seen wandering around the room. Nurse Alisa J. enters the room to check up on SCP-5956-A.
Alise J.: Oh, you're aw-
SCP-5956-A proceeds to impale the Alisa J.
SCP-5956-A leaves the room.
<Time: 06:31 PM>
After discovering the body of Alisa J., a member of staff raises the calls security and the alarm is raised. Only glimpses of SCP-5956-A were found on the footage between 06:24 and 06:31.
<Time: 07:02 PM>
MTF Unit Charlie-22 engages with SCP-5956-A at Gate B.
<Time: 07:46 PM>
SCP-5956-A successfully escapes the facility by flying away.
End Note: There were 47 dead bodies (19 On-Site Staff, 28 MTF Unit Charlie-22) and 20 more injured. Eye-witness accounts said that SCP-5956-A was able to morph its limbs into various shapes, and although there is no video evidence, this possibility should not be rules out.
The Foundation is still searching for SCP-5956-A's whereabouts.
I decided to scrap the interview. Although I think it could've helped flesh out some characters, I'm just not good enough at dialogue to consider keeping it in, especially if I had to do at least two as I had planned.
