Pancake McGee-SCP Draft

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-??? is currently sealed away in a cave, SCP-???-1, in Ardèche in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. All land surrounding the cave within a 5-mile radius is owned by the Foundation and protected by an electric fence. Trespassers caught inside the fence will be administered Class-A Amnesics and delivered to the nearest hospital. The entrance to the cave itself is to be manned by two (2) armed personnel at all times and watched by security cameras 24/7. No One is to enter the cave under any circumstances. If any personal attempts to enter SCP-???-1 they will be immediately transferred.

Description: SCP-??? has two components, SCP-???-1 and SCP-???-2. SCP-???-1 is a Cave made up of two chambers. The first chamber is relatively small, only 3 meters across and 2 meters tall. The second chamber is the main chamber and is the biggest. It houses SCP-???-2. This chamber is 12.5 meters across and 6 meters high at its tallest point. SCP-???-1 exhibits no abnormal qualities except that the cave is made up of an unknown material. So far all attempts to collect a sample of this material have failed. As of █████████ none of the Foundations mining instruments have pierced the floor, walls, or ceiling of the SCP-???-1. SCP-???-2 is a portion of SCP-???-2’s wall, about 3 meters across and 1.5 meters tall. This section of the wall is constantly producing writing in a unknown language. These letters are written in a unknown liquid. When tested this substance, named █████ is chemically similar to blood in many ways. However, it has a much higher viscosity than normal blood. This unknown language is believed to be related cuneiform. All research regarding translating this language has stopped and all documents concerning the writing have been terminated (see interview logs.).

(I'm not sure how to name these)
Interview log:
Interviewer: ███████
Interviewed: Dr. Gilpher
Forward: This interview took place directly after the incident involving SCP-???.
Dr. Gilmer was an eyewitness to the events concerning Dr. Philmont.
Interviewer: Please state you name and current assignment for the log.
Dr. Gilpher: My name is Dr. Gilmer and until recently I was the head researcher in charge of researching the writing on SCP-???-2.
Interviewer: What were you and your team doing on the date in question.
Dr. Gilpher: On the ███ of August we were making note of recurring symbols on SCP-???-2 as well as comparing the symbols to different ancient languages.
Interviewer: Had you or your team made any significant advances to decryption the writing on that day.
Dr. Gilpher: None that I know of. However, Dr. Philmont may have made a discovery right before he died.
Interviewer: The unfortunate accident, is of course the main reason for this interview. Did Dr. Philmont exhibit any unusual behavior on or before the ███
Dr. Gilpher: I did not know Dr. Philmont very well. He is… was a new recruit, this being his first field mission. He was a hard worker and always looking for approval. To tell the truth he probably worked harder than anyone else on the team, myself included. I remember that he had worked extra hard that day because he had requested the next Tuesday off and I had granted his request, he said it was his little sister’s birthday. I guess he wanted to make sure that he didn't fall behind in the research
Interviewer: I see. So what happened during the accident?
Dr. Gilpher: I would appreciate it if you didn’t refer to Dr. PhilMont's death as an accident. An accident is when you leave the tea water on when you leave for work or when you spill water on a report. This was not an accident. This was the death of a young man who had his whole life ahead of him…[At this point Dr. Gopher broke down sobbing and remained that way for the next 5 minutes].
Interviewer: Are you ready to continue?
Dr. Gilpher: Yes, I think so.
Interviewer: What happened right before the… Dr. Philmont unfortunate death.
Dr. Gilpher: We were all working at our separate stations when Dr. Philmont shouted “I understand!” We all rushed over to his station. When we reached his station we all paused in horror at the scene we saw…
Interviewer: What did you see?
Dr. Gilpher: He had cut his palm open with a scalpel, one that we used to collect samples of chemical ███████. He had put his other index finger in the cut and it was covered in blood and he was using this blood to write. He was writing in the strange language all over the wall and all of his stuff. When one of the guards attempted to grab him, he ripped himself free and stabbed the guard in the chest. After this two more guards rushed in to the room. They attempted to restrain him and when one of the guards wrestled the scalpel out of his hand, he… he[he started crying again, but quickly recovered himself] he grabbed the guards gun and shot himself dead.
Interviewer: That will be all. Thank you.
Closing Statement: Two days later Dr. Gilpher requested for his memory to be altered and to be let go as a civilian with no memories of the Foundation. All research concerning SCP-???-2 has stopped.

Incident report:
Field team (don't know how to name the team) intercepted and responded to a 112 call. The caller was very distressed and reported that when dropping off a package at ███████████████, Le Mas O, 07430 Davézieux, France, he looked into an open window and saw the house was covered in blood. When the team reached the house they breached the front door and quickly searched the residence. Inside they found no signs of life. The walls were covered in the strange symbols of SCP-???-2, written in Dr. Martin’s blood. Dr. Martin’s corpse was found in the dining room, covered in his own blood. Later corner reports showed that he died 14 hours prior of blood loss. During a further search of his house the team found many journals and all of his notes on SCP-???, lucky one quick-thinking agent set Dr. Martin’s room on fire, destroying all of his notes, before anyone could read them. Following this incident all agents who had anything to do with the research on SCP-??? Were administered Class-D amnesics.
