Special Containment Procedures: SCP-6862 is to be kept in a large steel container. SCP-6862 is to be given food and water via dispenser when food and/or water runs out. In the case of a containment breach no more then 1 security department should be allowed inside of 6862’s containment chamber. If SCP-6862 breaches containment all SCP tests are to be put on halt and all non-essential personnel movement around the site is to be limited as much as possible until SCP-6862 is re-contained.
Description: SCP-6862 is a 4 inch Monarch caterpillar found roaming Site-██. From visual appearance there is no signs of 6862 being anomalous and appears to be a normal caterpillar. SCP-6862’s anomalous properties come from when ever 6862 is physically harmed and damaged or is killed 6862 will rewind time to before it was injured. During the rewind all personnel within an unknow radius will experience memory loss to the point before SCP-6862 was damaged or killed. SCP-6862 was originally discovered when during a test on SCP-093 where 4 D-Class personnel were sent through the mirror SCP-6862 was supposedly damaged or killed in some way and rewound time. After the rewind all site personnel experienced memory lose and performed the test again. After 4 hours the D-Class were pulled back through the mirror but instead of 4 D-Class returning 6 D-Class came through the mirror. After interrogation of the 2 D-Class they both claimed that they were sent in with 2 others and were forgotten inside the mirror dimension. After further questioning it had been discovered that the 4 had been trapped inside of SCP-093 for a total of 2 weeks. All 6 of the D-Class were immediately sent to be tested on SCP-682. As of right now entry into SCP-093 is the only way to prevent the mind rewind effect. Although it may seem like a good idea to enter 093 all attempts have been denied by 05 due to the risk of being forgotten.
Addendum: As of right now we are not sure if SCP-6862 is anomalous or if it is a normal caterpillar but for now we have to act as if it is an anomaly. We do not know if 6862 has rewound time before and if it has the amount of rewinds is currently unknown.
