Item #: SCP-4864

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-4864 is contained inside of a small closet in Site-12 where it is secured. Monitoring is not required, however weekly checkups to make sure that SCP-4864 is still in place is recommended.

Description: SCP-4864 was found in an alley in ████████, ████ after police reports began to file in from varied sources complaining that there was a metallic smell coming from an alleyway in downtown ████████. After the SCP Foundation found its location, it was brought back to the facility to be contained. Its physical structure appears to represent a type of door, however it is completely transparent and cannot be seen in any spectrum of light. It does, however, have a door knob made out of an apparent metallic material and can be opened to reveal an interior room, designated SCP-4864-A. SCP-4864-A appears to be a scientific room with a control center directly in the middle of room. This system is able to control the exact location of the door, as well as horizontal and vertical rotations. When inside of SCP-4864-A, SCP-4854 is visible from the interior, while remaining completely transparent from the exterior. SCP-4864-A also contains materials of scientific research that have not yet been identified and have completely unknown compositions. When moving SCP-4864 to another location, SCP-4864-A appears to move into a seperate area of space that is completely removed from all known reality. When SCP-4864 is opened from the inside out, a dark and highly viscous liquid appears on the other side, designated SCP-4864-B. The exact type of liquid is unknown and cannot be brought inside of SCP-4864-A, making research of the substance impossible. When SCP-4864 is not being moved, it cannot move itself, however, it will generate subtle and quiet machinery noises from the outside, which cannot be heard once SCP-4864 is opened itself.

Subjects who have entered SCP-4864-A have reported to hear voices echoing around. However, even if two subjects are in the same room at the same time, the voices may appear for only one subject, and if both hear voices, they may not be the exact same. Subjects have also reported white semi-transparent figures wandering around SCP-4864-A during random periods.
