Special Containment Procedures: SCP-5439 is to be held in a 4x4 Toughened (tempered) glass box with two metal arms and metal cap holding it down to stop the constant shaking of the object. If containment is broken all personnel are to be taken out of the faculty immediately after the earthquakes stop, they are to immediately send a MTF unit to retrieve SCP-5439 and get it back to a safe containment. For the testing procedures to have anything to do with moving it or shaking it must be greenlighted by the facility manager. The only people who can access SCP-5439 are level 2 researchers and above.

Description: SCP-5439 is a salt shaker from the 1950s which was originally found by Nine Tailed Fox, in a destroyed town in the middle of Texas the only thing standing was an old diner called “Jack’s Burgers and Beer”. When entering the diner, Most of the structure was destroyed during the earthquakes. The only thing that was left standing and looked maintained was an old booth in the far right corner with a salt shaker sitting in the middle of the table. Further examining you would see some salt was shaken out onto the fries next to the burger and a fresh cigarette was lit that is sitting on the table, all of the items seemed to be preserved by the object but no signs of human life. While researching on the origins of SCP-5439 Researcher Adam Handle discovered that it was made by a company named Salt Tech, further researching is to be done.

Addendum: Addendum 5439-A
There has only been one incident recorded so far by the Foundation in November 8 1983, while transporting the object it started to rapidly shaking while in custody of the MTF Unit that had found it when they landed back at site-42 a 4.0 earthquake happened causing 7 Researchers and 12 D-Class to die and 17 injured

Addendum: Addendum 5439-B
This incident happened on January 8th 1986 at site breach at site-42 had a SCP Containment breach in which SCP-5439 was broken into and taken by [DATA REDACTED] while SCP-5439 was being transported to a new site, turbulence happened and the case that SCP-5439 was in was broken and the object fell spilling salt out, right after everything around the crashed helicopter was decimated in a matter of seconds by massive earthquakes everyone in the helicopter was found dead. The object was later found by Retrieval Unit-Brova.
