Special Containment Procedures: [SCP-XXXX is to be contained in its own chamber atleast 3 cubic meters in size and to be placed in the middle covered by a class dome, while it doesnt cause immediate danger, at this time level 4 clearance is required for entry into the chamber, more than 1 guard will always be at the door.
The chamber is to be located away from everything that contains organic matter of any kind, so it cant be near a kitchen, storage, break room, garden (including tree roots), trashcans or other cells that have anything living inside them]
Description: [SCP-XXXX is an ordinary looking plastic fork that is unusually light, but will eat anything it can if it gets close enough which increases its weight, speed of eating and the range it can eat from, when in its original state of being only 0.2 grams in weight it eats very slowly and has to be touching something to eat it.
It was calculated that it can consume its own weight in about 107 seconds, which means it eats 1.07% of its current mass every second.
How it eats or why is currently unknown and investigations post-poned untill the council of 5's decides if its safe or necessary to continue testing.
After eating, it doesnt seem to change in appearance at all, but its weight is increased, research showed that it gains more density and that is why its appearance stays the same.
When it hasnt eaten in a while it starts losing the weight it gained, slowly decreasing in weight and density, the heavier it is the faster it loses its weight.
It is slightly resistant to damage, like bending and gains more resistance to damage with weight, but a man of average strenght can bend and break it (with some effort) when its at its weakest.
When broken or damaged, no matter how badly, after some time it appears completely intact back where it was first damaged, the greater the damage the longer it takes, but it has not been observed to repair itself and its unkown how it "knows" where its supposed to be or how it repairs itself, although the rate of repairing seems to be linked with its weight, the heavier it is the faster it repairs itself.
At this time it is unknown how much weight it can gather, how fast it can eat or from how far away it can eat from, a lvl 4 researcher pointed out that there might be no limit, which is why its at this time so hard to get to]
Addendum: [SCP-XXXX was found in an old coal mine that was abandoned (due to bankruptcy) for about 80 years and then bought by another company, which started the mining operations again.
One of the workers was using it as one would use a plastic fork, when questioned the miner said he just found it on the table underground, cleaned it a little and started eating with it, other miners were fascinated at how lightweight the fork was, it would fly off the table if someone sneezed (which was common), coughed or even sighed in the direction of the fork, it was so light you could barely feel it in your hands when using it.
The retrieval of SCP-XXXX was uneventful
SCP-XXXX was briefly tested on but was deemed safe and placed in the cafeteria of site-[REDACTED]
It was there for a 43 days before staff started complaining about slight skin irritation on their fingers after using SCP-XXXX , at first it was thought that the staff member just had allergies or something else was causing the irritation, but after 2 more staff members said the same thing it was placed in its own temporary containment locker to wait for further testing
2 level 2 researchers were assinged to SCP-XXXX Doctors Smith and Armstrong, but before any additonal testing was done, Doctor Smith decided to pull a prank on one of the former colleagues and removed SCP-XXXX from its containment and placed it in a meat freezer that was ran by his old colleague Doctor Stainthorpe
He cut 3 square shaped pieces of meat from a large pork loin on the table, disposed of 2 of them and attached SCP-XXXX to the third and left it there on the table next to the square shaped holes he had cut to make Stainthorpe think someone (or something) had eaten frozen meat from his freezer.
The Freezer was not used daily, so 6 days passed before Stainthorpe next needed to use the Freezer, he just barely turned the handle enough to open the door before he jumped back and screamed in pain, a part of his hand was missing.
A security team was called on scene, they used a broom to open the door all the way, but they saw nothing inside and didnt dare to go to the door to take a look inside and see the table.
A remote control bomb-defusal robot was sent in, it got in with no problems and the camera feed showed a totally clean freezer, not even a stain on any of the walls, empty hooks and a crushed table, on closer inspection they found the a plastic fork embedded into the table, a quick look into it revealed that it was SCP-XXXX.
The security team attempted to move the fork with the robots arm, but it was way too heavy and at this time the qualitys of SCP-XXXX were unknown. A level 4 researcher arrived on scene and told the team stop anyone from going to the freezer or even the room next to it, isolating it and stay on guard for the night.
The next day a much stronger robot was brought on scene, most of the site was cleared of personnell and SCP-XXXX was succesfully moved to its current containment chamber, which is just a bit larger than the freezer.]
[[The level 4 researcher that contained SCP-XXXX was put in charge for its future and its containment, but soon after he had read all the files and made the conclusions, he contacted the council of 5s for 2 reasons.
researcher ███████ was the one that first thought about what would happen if SCP-XXXX were to be fed an enormous amount of food, could it destroy the whole site? Would it eat an entire forest if given the chance?
He had also read all available information on SCP-682, and suggested that SCP-XXXX might be able to destroy SCP-682, but was extremely worried that if it couldn't it could get an infinite source of food, eventually leading to a K-Class End of the world Scenario by eating all organic matter on the planet or forming a blackhole with its immense gravity.
This is waiting for the council of 5s to come to a conclusion.]]
