Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Thaumiel (indicate which class)
SCP-XXXX.
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX should be contained in a standard containment box and stored in the Thaumiel wing of Site 47b. Standard Thaumiel security protocols are to be followed and only personnel with clearance level 5 or higher are to gain access to SCP-XXXX.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a 10 cm x 10 cm polaroid depicting an elderly woman recognized as the Queen of England in the company of a humanoid (now referred to as SCP-XXXX-1) with 4 (four) Cephalopod limbs originating at the throat.
SCP-XXXX is a countermeasure to memetic hazards and will eliminate weaker memetic hazards completely through memory removal. Stronger memetic hazards (see addendum-1) will not be affected by SCP-XXXX. Research into determining the strength of memetic hazards with SCP-XXXX is permitted.
Extended interviews with the Queen of England has determined that the photo is either fabricated or takes place in another plane of reality, however, the Queen does confirm that it is indeed her in the photograph.
SCP-XXXX's anomalous properties manifest after observing the image of SCP-XXXX-1 for over 5 minutes at a time. SCP-XXXX's anomalous effects only work if another memetic effect has been observed by the viewer. The subject will then forget the memetic hazard and avoid interfering with previously known memetic. However, forced memetic hazards will still affect the subject.
Although the helpfulness of SCP-XXXX to the Foundation should not be overlooked, it is not without its risks. Viewing SCP-XXXX directly for less than 5 minutes will plant a memetic agent into the mind of the subject. This agent eventually creates false memories in the head of the subject. The intensity of which is determined by the amount of time spent viewing SCP-XXXX. No limits to this property have been found.
Copying the image of SCP-XXXX does not replicate it's effects.
