Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Thaumiel
Foreword: As dictated by the syntax of anomalous materials in the Foundation’s Rules of Article Formatting ; ‘Indexing Anomalous Elements and Compounds’, the SCP item index (SCP-XXXX) refers to the anomalous properties of said element or compound (Kinesium).
Special Containment Procedures: Crystals of Kinesium are to be kept bound to reality by use of SRA’s, or when utilised in lesser amounts in a compact environment, cSRA’s1.
Description: Kinesium is an element with an atomic number of 143. According to Einstein’s theory of Relativity, and Bohr’s model of the atom, the highest possible atomic number is 137. This is because the innermost electron in an element with an atomic number of 138 would be moving faster than the speed of light, which is fundamentally impossible without distortion of the space-time continuum.
The increase in speed of the innermost electron with the increase in atomic number is due to the Coulombic attraction between said electron and the positively charged nucleus, and the Coulombic repulsion between said electron and the outer electrons in the element.
This is the first anomalous property of Kinesium, SCP-XXXX-1.
Given that Kinesium has the highest known atomic number of any element, it should be that it is extremely unstable and radioactive. However, this is not true. Kinesium is not radioactive and has no calculable half-life, (even “non-radioactive” elements have half-lives). This is an anomalous property of Kinesium, SCP-XXXX-2.
